I will say that isn't the worst picture of her. But, if you were able to watch the show, when she was not posing and didn't have someone touching up the photo - she just looked weird. Her top lip is jacked up from being pulled, and then plumped too much - so watching her talk is kinda trippy.

I think a lot of the ones on the face are pretty noticable. So many people who have had a facelift have "the look" and when they do that thing to your eyes, and your eyebrows are 6 inches above your eyelids - no one really has their eyebrows way up there - who do you think you are fooling?!
Nose jobs aren't quite as noticable, if they are done well - I think because noses come in so many shapes, so you can't always tell.
Boob jobs probably turn out okay - until you are 60 and you aren't sagging. Then, you might still look good, but you aren't fooling anyone.

I graduated from a good college and was very successful in the workforce for almost 8 years before I was laid off while pregnant with our first child. The original plan had been for me to return to work, but I could not find a position, then we moved, I became pregnant again and am still at home. While sometimes I feel trapped (as kinetickid wrote) most days I feel that I have the most demanding, exhausting, rewarding position I have ever held. DH is scared that I will not want to return to the work-force after our youngest starts kindergarten - he does not want a kept woman. However, I have fears that with the economy as it is, and having no job outside the home for (at that point) 7-8 years will severely inhibit my ability to find a position. And there are no questions that I would not be able to just jump back into a position with the same responsibilities and pay - I would have to prove myself and climb the ladder again. So while I'm currently a "kept woman" in some people's view, it is not by choice and I don't take my husband's support for granted. I know that he is under tremendous stress being the only income generator (even though we live comfortably and well within our means) and I do all that I can to help alleviate that for him. I totally understand. With the economy as poor as it is here in California, I have very little faith that I could return to the paid workforce anytime soon. And even if I did, it would be for a salary far less than the $70K/year I was making before my kid was born. In my case, I tutor and do some independent-contractor bookkeeping, so that keeps me officially "employed." I'm also taking courses and am hoping to get my Masters within the next year or so (though I really, really want my PhD). With any luck, I'll be employable again.

That's the smart way to be a SAHM. Keep your skills up in case you want/need to return. Those that graduate, work a few years, then start having babaies and stay out of the loop for 10-15 years find a lot of doors closed unless they retrain in something new.

Yes... i'm going to have to do something soon. I stopped taking freelance stuff about 18 months ago, and haven't taken a class or done any new volunteer type work in as long (I do some of the same stuff, but much less than i used to)... i'm going to have to start something, or take a short term assignment here soon... as much for my sanity as anything, lol...

I don't know what she looked like "before" but she looked horrible on that show. If I hadn't been exposed to so many surgically enhanced people on television, I would have assumed that this gal had been in some sort of accident and had her face reconstructed. It wasn't even really shaped like a face anymore. At least not a normal face. Could someone post a link to this? I've gotta see it! Ah, great. Now, I've been sucked into this show, too. I can't imagine living that lifestyle. It was kinda funny to see their reactions to being cut off.

I was reading a magazine last night and there was a page in there that said the 5 most common plastic sugeries (not in order) were boobs, tummy tuck, nose, liposuction and eyelid-lifts.
I would say that the first 4 are probably successful, because you don't often look at total strangers and say "Hey, that lady had a tummy tuck." And, unless they went triple-D, you might not make note of boobs.
As far as eyelids, I know that medicare will pay for that if a doctor says that your eyelids droop to the point where it interferes with your sight. My mom (70) says that everyone her age is getting the procedure - men and women. But, I still say that if you are under 50 and you have an unnatural amount of space between your eyeball and your eyebrow, I know it is likely that you are vain and think you look younger, but in reality, you just look like you've had your eyes done.

I have seen some pretty bad boob jobs (IMO), but in most cloths it was hard to tell, because it could just be the bra. I don't think they were going for a natural look to start with, just high, full, and young. I'd prefer not to mess with my face, except if I had a distractingly bad nose.

Re: the show You're Cut Off... Courtnee was my favorite. She really seemed to "get it."
Some of the terms laid out by the parents were still fairly indulgent.

I can't watch those shows. It's so like Beverly Hills Housewives and all other such unreal shows.
