stormy: slowbut sure posted the template for graphs on page one of this thread, near the bottom. Its an excel attachment. You can go download it. If you don't have excel and need the coding, let me know and I'll put it into a text document for you.

I've modified the table a bit so it'll be easier to understand. Please modify the yellow-highlighted cells in the spreadsheet. Feel free to add or hide rows and columns (e.g., I hid some of the extra rows for my update). If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM. Unless it's a hard question, then you should PM Dragon. Here is my update using the table: SlowbutSure: 1/05/11 $109,996.57 (10/13/08 $139,585.11, W456) Name of Debt | Current Date | Current Debt $ | Starting Date | Starting Debt | Total Paid | % Paid off | House | 1/5/2011 | $109,712.57 | 10/13/2008 | $129,428.12 | $19,715.55 | 15.23% | HELOC | 1/5/2011 | $284.00 | 10/13/2008 | $10,156.99 | $9,872.99 | 97.20% | CC 1 | 1/5/2011 | $0.00 | 10/13/2008 | $0.00 | $0.00 | 100.00% | Total | | $109,996.57 | | $139,585.11 | $29,588.54 | 21.20%

Wow, I'm glad I checked in! I was just going to browse & post an update but found out the old one was closing and moving to a new place. Are we keeping the page numbering as part of our identifier or are we starting over?
Update:

Use your same number, nooccar. Only people who are starting new races will get a new number; CoffeeGirl has already set that up, but I don't want to tell anybody here until needed.

IMPORTANT Hi there everyone! I wanted to answer a few questions about the board closings for you all: 1. We are moving to notmsnmoney.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wir2. There are temporary threads set up now for each region. By the end of January (hopefully by the end of next week) we will have permanent proboard regional threads. We haven't set them all the way up yet because we are still learning how things work there and how we have to adapt our practices. 3. Please stop posting on MSN now - while the boards aren't currently scheduled to close until 1/14, it makes it harder for the volunteers to do their jobs. 4. Taglines will stay the same for the time being. I am working on revised codes for the proboards sites and will let you all know of changes when we open the permanent threads. 5. New members should add a "PT" for their page number until further notice: WPT, IPT, MPT, NPT, SPT 6. Smiley faces will be back as soon as possible - we are looking at different options for how to best bring them back - best for you and best for the volunteers! 7. While the urgency is over, I am still collecting email addresses so that I can reach members as needed - you can email me at cgwirr at gmail dot com. 8. Please either use your MSN nic on proboards, or tell us who you used to be - otherwise we won't know it's you! Thanks for your patience! ~CG

UPDATE! SlowbutSure - Thanks for the excel file!!! It's so much easier to just input numbers into! Runmarathons: 1/7/2011 $154,282.56 (1/19/2010, $161,538, WU37) Name of Debt | Interest | Paid this Month | Current Debt $ | Starting Debt | Total Paid | % Paid off | House | 5.75% | $1,080.20 | $140,918.54 | $143,141.00 | $2,222.46 | 1.55% | Student Loan | 4.875% | $63.29 | $12,662.78 | $12,943.00 | $280.22 | 2.17% | Prosper Loan | 10.30% | $332.04 | $701.24 | $4,654.00 | $3,952.76 | 84.93% | SAS Loan | 0.00% | $0.00 | $0.00 | $800.00 | $800.00 | 100.00% | Total | | $1,475.53 | $154,282.56 | $161,538.00 | $7,255.44 | 4.49%
My one year WIR anniversary is this month so to celebrate I made a little extra payment on the Prosper loan so that I can jump up to $7,000 debt reduction. I thought that sounded like a nice round number. This also means that the Prosper loan will now be paid off by June?! That’s only 5 months to my next 0! Also I looked up my student loan and it is in deferment right now (I think it automatically deferred since I’m taking community college classes). So it appears that the amount went down since I’ve still been making the minimum payments (that I thought only covered the interest!) Cool! Let’s see if I can do even better in 2011. My goal for this year is to reduce my debt by $10,000. I will do this by paying off the prosper loan ($700) and putting the rest towards my mortgage payment. If I do the snowball method I am scheduled to put an extra $262 towards my mortgage each month. This alone will be an extra $3,144 towards the principle. Sounds great to me! Or I could put it into savings or retirement….decisions decisions. Glad we made the transition to the new board. Look forward to a new year of great achievements for everyone!

slowbutsure
do you want one of us to take over the sheet for this next week? Or do you want to keep it for a while longer.
If nothing else I was thinking I could update the smileys with the new codes

dvm - Let me keep it for next week too. CG won't be back until Tuesday night and as far as I know the smilies are still be up in the air. I'm hoping <<fingers crossed>> that we could just copy the smilies from word into the thread. Someone will definitely need to double-check to make sure that everything looks okay. Don't you worry! I know how much you like to give out the $100 smiles. runmarathons - I'm glad that the table is a success and you are already adding columns! Could you check something for me? On the last row of the table, in the column right after the current debt amount, could you check that the next cell starts with ""? If it doesn't, please add it right before the ""? Thanks a bunch!

We should probably change me to Glacial Dragon, since I just saw your Message, SlowbutSure! I am happy to accept any and all questions, but only after I choose an avatar and a scintillating signature that totally captures my essence (of course). I should be done with this process by, oh, say, next year? The signature may take a bit longer than anticipated, so I'll be sure and update my status regularly - LOL! So until then, keep PM'ing SlowbutSure, and make them really hard questions! I have to say that this is a fab spreadsheet, SlowbutSure - looks nice in Excel. Yeah!

What is a PM? I tried inputting my data to the table. When I tried to paste it, a bunch of the letters from imbetween the colums didn't line up and it looks quite scrambled. Any ideas?

stormy six - PM is personal message and all you need to do is press the envelope under someone's name to reach that person. As for the table, did you include the first cell (A1) that starts with
Are you saying that I yak too much?

How is this stormy six? Attached below is the table. Copy cells A1 through O12. Note, I did hide several of the columns and a row just in case you want to use them in the future. provanity really tables aren't a req it is just that so many of us are use to using them to clarify our debt. As a captain I assure you all I actually look at is the update line-unless someone says something about a zero or not
If you like you can also always just list debt-dragon does that a lot since she just has the one others do too.

slowbut sure- Thank you so much. I am trying to play with it but guess I am not sure what to plug where, how to get percentages etc. Hopefully, as I play I will learn.
Captains: Any input on my request to change my race up? I wanted to just do my unsecure debt, ditch the student loan because of some personal life changes. I really need to see some progress to keep my chin up and my head above water. I also need to keep focused, and racing will do just that! I didn't know what to do with my tag line....thanks.

Hey stormysix! Why don't you just e-mail me what you are currently racing and status of each debt with an indication of what you want to continue racing with at this point. We want to give you as much credit as possible. My e-mail is slowbutsure@comcast.net

larmik - Got your PM. I'm thinking that you didn't copy a couple of columns. Here is what I got out of post 80... Name of Debt | Current Date | Current Debt $ | Starting Date | Starting Debt | Total Paid | % Paid off | a | 1/8/2011 | $26,111.18 | 6/1/2007 | $36,163.66 | $10,052.48 | 27.80% | b | 1/8/2011 | $0.00 | 6/1/2007 | $9,038.05 | $9,038.05 | 100.00% | c | 1/8/2011 | $0.00 | 6/1/2007 | $4,694.99 | $4,694.99 | 100.00% | d | 1/8/2011 | $0.00 | 6/1/2007 | $4,097.77 | $4,097.77 | 100.00% | e | 1/8/2011 | $0.00 | 6/1/2007 | $1,057.14 | $1,057.14 | 100.00% | Total | | $26,111.18 | | $55,051.61 | $27,883.29 | 52.57%
So, check the attached table, change the A, B, C, etc. in Column B as appropriate. Then, copy cells A1 to O12 (keep the rows hidden that you don't use). You want to copy all the cells starting with "

Here are the updates for the rest of the week. Nooccar – I’m glad you checked in too! I hope everyone will be doing an update these last few days. Kahlan123 – Fantastic update! I’m looking forward to seeing you win this race the next time. Provanity – Great update – almost 25% of the way through under a year! Alpinista – Love your avatar! Now, hurry up and take care of your cc debt so you can go climbing in the summer. Sealy – Thanks for adding the (3) to your name; it helps the captains. Runmarathons – Happy 1st anniversary! We’re a weird group of gals, aren’t we? By celebrating, we pay a little extra to make $0, get an extra % point off or get another smiley. I did the same thing for my first update this year. Laramik – Oh, good! I’m so glad that you got the table to work.
Still have questions on your updates? Feel free to PM your captains (dragon, dmv07, Laramik or I). We've all been playing with the new board, so hopefully someone could answer your question. There is also How-To Section under the General Board that talks about different aspects of what you can do. Moonbeam has also been fantastic about asking questions too, but she's pretty busy with far more people than your captains have.
I attached the updated smileys list. Unfortunately, the smilies cannot be copied and pasted from word to this board easily , so we're waiting until the permanent thread is up and running.

Hi, I am new and would like to be held accountable and what a better way then putting it out there, then I found this site. Please let me know if I am doing this correctly or incorrectly. Question? Should I be putting a page number or listing number for reference to come back to? Is there a new comer’s page (post) I can read to know what to do and how often to update? A little about myself and where I am starting at, I am 42 yrs old with a 13 yr son at home. I am currently in the middle of a divorce, so I am sure there are going to many financial bumps in the road, as when the divorce started the only debt we had was the mortgage. It does not take long for credit card debt to add up. Between the lawyer and having to replace the heat pump/furnace, I have racked up $17,789 in cc debt, and that has just been since 11/09. I am hoping that the divorce will be finished this year and I will be awarded the house, as I have been living in it and maintaining it. That way I know that any new debt will be my doing and not due to legal fees and I will feel that I have some control again. Here is my list of debt: Name of Debt Current Date Current Debt $ Starting Date Starting Debt Total Paid % Paid off CC 1 1/1/2011 $11,330.00 1/1/2011 $11,330.00 $0.00 0.00% CC 2 1/1/2011 $5,459.00 1/1/2011 $5,459.00 $0.00 0.00% Personal Ln 1/1/2011 $1,000.00 1/1/2011 $1,000.00 $0.00 0.00% Mortgage 1/1/2011 $52,341.73 1/1/2011 $52,341.73 $0.00 0.00% Total $70,130.73 $70,130.73 $0.00 0.00% Nomoredebtpls (1/1/11 $70130.73) Thank you and I look forward to being held accountable and making progress and sharing and encourage each and every one of you.

Welcome nomoredebtpls! We are so glad that you found us during this crazy time! This is indeed a great place for accountability and motivation while you race your debt.
If you look at Reply #62 on this board, one of our other captains, SlowbutSure, has created and attached an Excel spreadsheet. If you download that and enter your numbers into it (you'll be modifying the yellow boxes) and copy and paste that into a message, it will come out nice and pretty like some of those you see. If you are not familiar with Excel or need some help (like I did) then leave SlowbutSure or myself a personal message and we can help you out.
Your tag line will look like this:
nomoredebtpls: 1/9/2011 $70,130.73 (1/9/2011 $70,130.73 WPT3)
Then, as you pay off debt, the first date and amount will change when you update. The stuff in parenthesis stays the same.
Again, welcome and don't hesitate to ask questions. We've all been there!

Wow! I hope I've done this right! I uploaded the excel file. I hope it works correctly A lot of positive changes in my life. DH will be coming home early!!!!! For confidential reasons, I can't know the exact dates, but it looks like he'll be arriving home sometime in March, rather than end of April-early May! I'm so elated. The only thing we're a little disappointed about is that he wont be making as much money with the earlier arrival date, but I'd give up all of the money in the world to have him home NOW! In terms of me... my paycheck this month was nearly $2000 less than what it normally is. December was a HORRIFIC month in the dental world. Luckily with DH's saved up money, he'll be able to subsidize my half of our joint bills so I'm very fortunate for that. So, very sluggish with the debt repayment. My dad will do our taxes soon and, since I get paid as an independent contractor and have to "reserve" a portion of my monthly paychecks, I'm hoping that I wont have to use all of it and I can put a big chunk towards SL #3 when the taxes are complete. Keeping my fingers crossed for that and that business picks up soon. Here are the numbers...
