Update: Kristin11: 5/27/11 $12,545.33 (12/31/09 $16,567.73 NEU8)
1. Domestications - $0 – No Change 2. Kohls - $92.71 – ($56.07) Decrease 3. Target Visa - $3,741.01 – ($63.09) Decrease 4. Discover - $0 – No Change 5. Disney Visa - $1,246.69 – ($17.14) Decrease 6. Shell Fuel Card - $0 – No Change 7. Macys - $0 – No Change 8. Sisters Loan - $503 – ($5.00) Decrease 9. Bethpage FCU - $5,016.92 – ($182.67) Decrease 10. Aunts Loan - $1,945 – No Change
Total change for the past month was ($323.97) Decrease.
Finally reached $4,000 paid! I would have never made it here without all of you! I would have probably kept charging and living paycheck to paycheck trying to figure out how to get everything paid. Still on the apartment hunt for something cheaper since with my debt and income the $1,400 for rent and utilities is a lot to handle! So far there is nothing out there that is comparable for less and there are so many places out there that don’t allow pets. I am hoping since the Summer is upon us that I can get a decent amount of overtime in the next few months that way I can keep turtling along. Hopefully I can keep my monthly decrease around $300 to $350 per month at least until I can move or find a job closer to home. I am setting a goal of having paid off $5,000 by my September update and I plan to try and be under $10,000 by my 2 year anniversary in December but I know I will have to push hard to accomplish that and it just might be too far out of reach.
I am making my last $5 a week payment to my Aunt tomorrow for a play that we went to see earlier in the month and I plan to now move that $5 a week to paying back my sister. She has been letting me slide with payment for about 7 months now but that’s one of my lower debts so I would just like to see it gone. Kohl’s is going to be my next zero. The next payment is due on June 14th and I am trying to figure out whether to just pay the $50 I have been and then make the final payment in July or to just pay it off in full in June that way it frees up $50 for July. I am not sure that the extra $40 can fit in my budget but I just want that zero! I figure I have 2 paychecks before I have to make the decision so I will see where I am at with putting aside rent money and then decide. I have a non racing card that also has 2 more payments so I should have $130 free in August! I plan to raise my payments on my Aunts loan from $55 to $75 at that time but I think that I am going to keep all the rest of my payments the same that way I have an extra $100 in my budget for a while. It’s bright and sunny here so everyone enjoy your day and happy racing!

I've been away for soooo long, but it has all been for a great cause I was working a terrible job, for a little bit over 3 months, and the overtime paid off... in a big way. Thankfully, I got a new job earlier this month, and it's a job I really enjoy.... and hope to keep up at this pay-down pace Not to mention I have 2 new 0's to announce!!! Both Student Loans are paid off, and my car is next in line!!! Here goes with the rest of my numbers: belladisastre: 5/26/11 $21,133.69 (1/20/10 $26,667.02 NEU62) Debts | May'11 | Difference | CC #1 | 13,362.21 | -5.06 | CC #2 | 1,758.08 | -109.72 | CC #3 | 1,884.27 | -111.04 | CC #4 | 869.00 | +129.56 | CC #5 | 642.00 | -33.66 | CL | 2,618.13 | -1,292.47 | SL #1 | 0.00 | -521.43 | SL #2 | 0.00 | -558.00 | BALANCE | 21,133.69 | -2,501.82 |

raven64-do you have a giant bookstore near you? They give you gas points when you buy certain items. That might help your gas problem. HTH. Yes. The grocery store I shop at gives points but I use them up faster than I can buy food. Now that my Dad is doing better, I've been limiting my visits to once/twice a week and just calling him instead. It's been helping alot. Thanks for the advice.

congrats to all the winners!
just popping in to say that I got a $2 an hour raise at my FT job. It still doesn't look like it's going to be there for long, but hey I'll take what I can get. I just paid off one of my smaller credit cards so that's 2 down and 2 to go. I took the tax money out of my savings to pay, but I feel better that I have another 0.

Total % paid : 6.654% GoalsBe under $45,000 by September 30 Increase EF to $2000 My balance went up about $50 this month but I'm okay with that. I thought it was going to be worse. The increase reflects the last of the running back and forth to visit my Dad after his heart attack and bypass surgery. He's doing great, driving again and doing small things around the yard so I don't need to run there everyday anymore. Now it's time to buckle down and work on paying down my balances again. DH and I are working on plans to pay things down quicker. Hopefully we can meet our goal of being under $45,000 by the end of September. Happy racing everyone!

I went overboard last month and it put me in a strain for this month. I had extra expenses for college class and textbook as well as I needed some new uniform items. I also have a tradition of buying crows for my Sailors who get promoted. 6 of them made E5! I'm really happy for them. I know Vanguard is always happy when someone gets advanced and is awarded a ribbon or medal lol. After my card is paid off, I'm going to double my tithe (currently $100) and save so I can start doing some CD ladders. I've kinda been increasing my contributions to church in other ways too. We provide roughly 200 meals a month for a group of terminally ill hospital out-patients. I like to cook and the ingredients aren't too expensive. Casey

Here are my changes from last month to this month. I'm excited as my lowest debt is FINALLY under $10,000. LOL!!! I know with a lot of people on these boards that would be ALL their debt, but I'm dealing with Mortgage debt and I've got to tell you, it takes a while to whittle it down!! But, I'm excited to know that we are getting closer and closer to actually OWNING a property!!!!! Feels wonderful!!! My goal is to have the camp paid off with our December payment. A lot has to go right in order to do that!! I will pray it does!!!! Shoutouts through Message #863
chiver78: Turtling is just fine. Enjoy this warm weather while we have it.
Foxybrown77: I’m guessing Philly has been sweltering these last couple of days. I just reread your comment about the “werewolf” – why are they always good looking in the movies?!
Munjoyhill: Congrats on being more than 1/3 paid off for your HELOC.
Kristin11: What a great payoff this month. And you’re over $4000!
onmywaynow: Party hats do look great on you!
belladisastre: It’s wonderful to have you back with us. You have been missed! Congrats on the newest zeros. That car loan will be gone in no time.
Cushion21[2]: WOOHOO! On winning your SECOND RACE! I can’t remember if you had told us you would be back for round three?
irishsob: Another SUPER update! And now you’re no longer in the $25K-50K group, you’re in the $5500-$25K group!
Raven64: Sorry to hear about that small increase this month, but you’re right, family is more important.
Casey2525: You are SOCLOSE to finishing this race. Next month, just wait. WOW – You sound like the perfect gentlemen & in uniform, no less! (I’m partial to the Marines, but you’re enough to make a girl cry!) Gifts for promotions, tithing, and cooking for the ill. What an amazing guy!
Ravenhaired: You are making some great progress, not only with debt reduction, but with savings & other goals, as well. Are you losing weight for a special vacation?
Wudnit: Congrats on getting your Camp Mortgage under $10K. That is a REALLY GOOD payoff this month!
GirlGreen: Great job! $6K paid-You have some sunglasses to go with your winking guy!

rppt: Don't get me started! The heat has been unbearable. And, for some reason the air in my office building acts whacky between 3 and 5pm. Everyone starts getting fidgety in my case room. That's when I know it's BREAK TIME. LOL. I just need to make it home tonight and hope no tornadoes touch down.
As for my "werewolf" I've been switching up my route home. You never know.....And, believe me he did not look like the Cullens! Very disapointed! LOL

LOL, foxybrown77, I wouldn't think he'd look like the Cullens, considering they're vampires. Now, Jacob Black, on the other hand... Sorry, Twilight and everything that is Twilight is my guilty pleasure and not so secret obsession. That, and Vampire Diaries. I'd like to say it's the storyline (which, I guess in part it is), but the stunningly gorgeous eye candy has a huge part to play in it (especially Ian Somerhalder in Vampire Diaries ) as well. As an update for me in my world, things have been pretty fast-paced. So fast-paced, in fact, that I haven't even had a chance to gather our numbers, re-think our budget, or anything of that nature. As you know, we're expecting baby #2 in November, and we have a wedding we are all a part of in July (in Texas, OUTSIDE, in 2458972394 degree heat - WHO DOES THAT?! ), so we're trying to prepare for all of these things without going completely overboard. I've started contributing a weekly amount to my ING account that will eventually go toward daycare after I go back to work from maternity leave, and most of our bills are on autopilot, so we know what's coming out. DH is looking at a new job ( ), that will pay more money and have more stability, and will FINALLY get him out of hotel work. I'm really praying that this job comes through...my best friend's father is one of the heads of the department he'd be working in, and is (if he hasn't already) going to put a good word in for him. It's the perfect job for him, so I'm hoping God feels the same way. Anyway, once I get my head around everything, I will (FINALLY) resume my race - right now, I'm so turtling I don't think it can even be considered turtling. On the other hand, my 16-week baby checkup went very well. We'll find out what we're having on 6/28. Now, if I can just get rid of this muscle spasm below my right shoulderblade, I'll be fantastic... Congrats to all of the winners out there!! It reminds me that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel - it just depends on how long your tunnel is before you see it.
