rpprt here after a long weekend with family visiting....Whew! I made it! No snow in Central PA. Hang in there NE Region & we will be moving along again in no time.

We must have been just at the edge of the storm here in Maryland. They told us to expect a blizzard, 8-12 inches of snow, lots of drifting, etc. What we got was 1-3 inches and quite driveable almost immediately. DD had to go to work at 7 p.m. Christmas Day (in a hospital), and 6 p.m. on the 26th. Because road conditions were pretty good, no snow excuses were allowed. I'm looking forward to making my next update here. Hope all had happy holidays and best wishes for the coming new year!

Good morning.

I posted my numbers update a couple weeks ago, won't have another official update until Jan 2.

I thought I would take a moment to have a non-numbers financial update, I think it's important to celebrate those milestones too:

- I did not use a credit card in 2010 -- actually I haven't used a credit card in over two years. And I have no credit card debt.
- My job situation was not so good in October, being laid off from my old company, but rehired almost immediately by my new company. I have a great new job.
- I moved and added to my debt -- it was the right thing for me to do, I love my new place, it's a way for me to start over in my personal life (I'm a widow).
- Murphy visited me a few times in 2010, and I am fortunate to have an emergency fund that allowed me to pay cash for these situations.
- Savings - I am saving every dime I can get my hands on, just in case something happens with my job again. This is savings over and above my current EF, what I am calling my Mortgage EF.
- Peace of mind - I know my financial situation, am dealing with my debt, and I have savings.

Thank you I got myself into about 16K (not including student loans) when I was about 19 and went crazy trying to pay it off. I did it! and then moved out of my parents house about a year and a half ago (and also financed a car the month before i moved out) and dug myself right back into a nother gigantic hole. I guess I didn't realize how much it really costs to live on your own. So anytime I needed or WANTED something, it went on a credit card. Soooo now it's time to dig myself out again. This will definately keep me motivated
