idle How did the interview go? Do you have an established EF? I'd say if you are happy with your EF balance, throw it at that CC for a soon-to-be SUPER ZERO!

Idle: How did the interview go? I'm with rppt. If your EF is fine I would throw all you can at your debt.

Thanks for all the interview vibes. It went pretty well overall. It was a 3 person panel and they took turns asking 27 predetermined questions (a few of which I didn't know the answer to). Then I had a 3 question written test. It was the first interview that I've ever been to where they weren't interested at all in who I am. So weird.
Right now I have only 300 dollars in my EF (or savings account) and I'm currently putting in 5 dollars a week. I suppose I need to put my money into savings, but I was so looking forward to having another zero in a few months.

Shoutouts through Message #613Delphinus317 – Glad to hear DH got another job so quickly. In three months you have paid over $2500 – that is GREAT! CLS 328 – Congrats on the party hat! And you do look good in it! motherto2 – Welcome to the Northeast! Your tagline will look like this: motherto2: 3/27/11 $197,463 (3/27/11 $204,186 SPT37,NPT19)Munjoyhill – I think I will join you and lark in your “just a little bit more” quest and add a few more dollars each month to each of my debts. Poohbiscit – Don’t get discouraged – you are doing fantastic. You will be under $10k in no time at all! chiver78 - Congrats on the “angel”, bonus & paying off Discover #2! Your tax refund will take a nice chunk out of your Amex. I’m glad to hear things have calmed down at work. Redwagon – That balance is definitely moving in the right direction! Cushion21[2] – You will have that last SL paid off in no time – I can’t wait to announce another winner for the NE! Won’t it be nice to only have the mortgage left? Flatbroke – Sorry that table didn’t work for you. Don’t give up on your table yet! Try again, and remember you can go back and edit your post if it doesn’t turn out the way you want it. TPSReport – You are now under $8000! Keep up the good work! mourningcloak (Race 2) – You can now breathe easier – Congress has passed the budget. Of course, now they have to start working on the budget that starts October 2011! Redwagon – Yay! For freelance work! That took a huge chunk from your balance – you skipped right over the $24k’s. Ronnyanna – Congratulations one more time on winning your race! Constanz22 – Welcome back! I know EXACTLY what you mean about being tired of your old debts. It’s hard to remember exactly what I decided was so important that I ran up CC debt to over $50K - $50K! I look back at old statements where I was charging $500 in a month & only paying the minimum, like $60, then having interest charges of $80! (What was I thinking?) Mom2-4Monkeys – You have made some TERRIFIC progress over the past three months – over $4000 paid!

Debt down by $1034.76 and Savings up by $354.85 for this pay. I keep going back and forth in my mind justifying my focus on savings/EF vs. debt reduction or retirement. So, at the moment I’m doing both figuring I can always move the money in savings to pay debt at a moment’s notice. My new lifestyle has resulted in a decrease spend of about $100 a week. I am seriously considering selling my house and renting a smaller place. I am very willing to do this but not sure if I will be better off. Need to do more research. In the meantime, I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing. 2011 Financial Goals BS#1 – Establish 1K EF – Complete (2K)BS#2 – Pay off LOC (In progress – Target completion Oct ??) kristin11 and GirlGreen OOPS! I don't have the spreadsheet with me, but it looks like your smileys are correct, just not your tagline. I have the two of you changed, and will verify the rest of the taglines from the last update later on today. (Your shoutouts were on pg. 18) HAPPY RACING! onmywaynow is my latest recipient!

Yay I got a karma point! I never win anything, lucky day ;D Oceanfire31: 4/16/2011 $11,751.99 (09/07/09 $22,908.15 NE679, NE692) 4/19/11 | 4/16/11 | Difference | SL2: $11,853.51@ 3.2 | $11,751.99 | -$101.52 |

So getting into savings mode and just turtling away on my remaining student loan. I can turtle my way to infamy I really don't care at this point. I just want a nice fat bit of savings and once I have that I can concentrate on murdering the last of my student loans. I know I am paying more interest by not getting this paid off but I am also running the risk of disaster by not having any savings. Anyway, it just feels good to finally be saving.

Thank you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so nice to be cheered on, to be able to be glad and you know the road it has taken. I'm not sure how it is received if I were to tell someone here, because they don't know all the circumstances that surround the debt payoff or the many other things that are important. With you guys, you are terrific and terrific and terrific. Thank you so much. We have gone a little crazy celebrating here. I bought tulips, pillows for the couch and other crazy little things. My DH has torn down a feature on our stairway that always was awkward and I am ordering a new railing. I am sure that without your help, I would've muddled through but not as soon, in fact probably not to the end. I owe you so much for helping me to stay on track and being excited for me. My children have seen this journey to the end so that we can start a new one. You are so appreciated.

Sorry, I have not logged on in a while. I am just totally ashamed of the backward slide that has been going on since February. I gained $825.58 in debt (new tires, groceries, gas bill), and lost $3846.33 in savings (mortgage payment and health insurance). I was laid off from one of my part time jobs for the month of February, one of my other part time jobs hours were drastically cut. Then I thought things were going to be much better in March, when I went to work full time, and my husband went back to work. Even though I am making more money now, with one full time job, instead of two part time jobs, I did not realize how hard it was going to be to get back on track. My anxiety about money is starting to creep back into my life, which is not a whole lot of fun. Now if I could only drown my debt and sorrows in a bottle of wine, every now and then, life would be so much easier. Ain't no harm in trying, while I come and visit the board a little bit more often for the motivation I need. Thank you for letting me wine, I mean whine.
