constanz, the table, like any other attribute on this board uses HTML, which is actually very, very simple, it's just... h'mmm... what is the word... annoying? OK. You need a start and a finish attribute, which you have to enclose in square brackets. [ ] And the start and stop must match. "b" is bold. "i" is italics. "u" is underline. So if you want to bold something, you have to start with "b" and end with "/b" in square brackets. The begin "attribute" is by itself, the end attribute is "/attribute". So - to see this, you need to "quote" me, and then you'll see this b - begin bold - /b end bold, surrounded by [ ] this begins the bold
and the bold has ended. The table commands are: table and /table tr and /tr (table row) td and /td (tab delimiter) So a simple outline would be table tr td <stuff> /td td <stuff> /td /tr /table Imagine all that with square brackets (when you "quote" me, you'll see this as well):

lark Thanks for the explanation. I will try to take a look at it when I have more time, but, honestly, reading that, it may as well have been written in Chinese. I have never worked with html. Guess it'll take some work to really figure it out...

constanz22 If you look at page 18, message #515, I posted an excel spreadsheet which you can use. Just input your debt names, beginning & current totals. Don't forget to post your tagline. Good Luck!

Ok so a bit of an update from me on the whole BT/Borrowing situation. As I am sure you all expected No BT went through! I have decided to give up on that because its just not worth the phone calls or the stress anymore. I would the card right away because obviously it was useless but it does have 0% on purchases for 12 months so I am going to hold onto it for the year just incase. I brought up to my Aunt (my mother's sister who is my godmother and also my boss at my part-time job) that my sister was willing to lend me the money and the payment schedule we decided on to see if it sounded like a good idea to her. She offered to lend me $2,000 instead of taking it from my sister. I would send $1,464.55 to Discover to pay it off and $535.45 to Target to bring that balance down some. She wants to be paid back $55 a month over the next 36 months and her one condition was that we put it in writing and both sign it and have it notarized. I accepted her offer because I felt more comfortable borrowing from her (I know she has the money in savings) and the fact that she wanted to put it in writing meant that I couldn't have a "i'll give it to her when I can" kind of mentality (even though I knew I wouldnt). She is going to go to the bank this week and cut me a check for the $2,000 and then I would have to deposit it in my account (probably not until this weekend) and write out the two checks. I am feeling very positive about the way that we are doing this and I think its going to be a great move for me in the long run because it would open up money to give me some breathing room in the long run. Hopefully I can post next week with my new numbers!
Just one question to the administrators or anyone that can answer ... How do I revise my numbers to account for her loan and no more Discover? Should I just change the Discover payee to her since my starting total isn't changing and I am just moving the debt to another creditor?

Time for an update and another attempt at the tables! It’s been a crazy month, again, but I must say I’m thankful to still be allowed to work and that my fiancée truck hasn’t completely broken down on us yet. Hopefully Congress signs their deal and I shouldn’t have to worry about not being allowed to work for at least another year! My tax return arrived and I tried to spend it wisely. Ended up not putting as much towards debt as I wanted to, but managed to take care of a few loose odds and ends without putting them on the credit card so didn’t do so badly. I have a little extra in my checking account in case Congress doesn’t manage to approve the budget, so if it gets signed I should be able to put the rest towards my largest credit card balance. The hope is to get the credit cards paid off by summer, which will be easily feasible if we can get my fiancée into a job. We’ll see. Here’s the current numbers: Account | Start (1/10/11) | Last (3/10/11) | Current (4/11/11) | Change this month | PenFed Visa Gold | $5,824 | $4,752 | $3,208 | ($1,544) | PenFed Promise | $461 | $434 | $422 | ($12) | SunTrust Auto Loan | $16,078 | $15,353 | $15,149 | ($204) | Mortgage | $143,050 | $142,642 | $142,437 | ($205) | Total | $165,413 | $163,181 | $161,215 | ($1,965) |
mourningcloak (Race 2): 4/11/11 $161,216 (1/10/11 $165,413 NPT5) Thanks ronnyanna for the information! I’ll check into Fast ForWord! We’re definitely working on how much to expect and how much slack to give my son, as I have different expectations than my fiancée does. My mother always joked that I’d forget my brain if it wasn’t attached, so to me forgetting things is a part of life whereas my fiancée is concerned that it could hurt my son’s future if he doesn’t start doing better. I figure I didn't do too awful myself, but at the same time if I can find things that work for my son to prevent some of the problems my forgetfulness causes that would be great!

kristin I'm not sure how other people handle it, but I don't revise my starting total when I add a new debt, I just add another creditor. So basically if your list was now Discover and Target, your list would now be Discover, Target, and aunt with the Discover at $0 since you'll be paying it off. Technically the debt to your aunt is new rather than a revision of the starting total. Make sure you cancel or freeze that Discover card so you don't charge it back up. When I tended to keep charging my cards, I left them at home in my nightstand so that I really had to consider using them rather than for spur of the moment things. I only carried one card on me for car emergencies, though AAA covers most of that! Glad your aunt could help you out! It's always helpful to have family to support you. I tend to talk to friends more, as my brother is the only one in the family more financially responsible than me as sad as that is lol. He makes me jealous and I can't wait to get to the point he's at!

kristin11 mourning cloak is correct - you will show your Discover card at a 0 balance, the Target at it's reduced amount, and the debt to your aunt would start out at 0, but have it's current balance at $2000. It will feel GREAT having all of your payment going to debt payoff!

I got paid from my freelancing job and am just waiting for it to clear the bank, then my debt will be going down another $1300 or so (kept $100 for me for fun money... I deserve it!). Very exciting progress!

Well, I give up on trying to figue out the table right now and I don't want to keep putting off restarting this race, so, I'm just posting my debts. I don't know what the new boards "abbreviation code" is for my tagline, so, if one of the leaders could let me know, that'd be great.
Chase CC $4671.80 total $1202.12 @12.24 $2160.38 @ 12.24 $1369.52 @ 6.82
Wells Fargo CC $3300.32 @10.9
SEFCU CC $4285.79 @ 6.69
I think I'm around the same totals as I was when on MSN, but, I have moved some previous non-racing debt to racing debt. I transferred my Discover balance (17.9%) to my credit union CC, saving a ton of interest. The Chase and WF card are both OLD, closed accounts that I am sick, sick, sick of carrying!

I got 1192 back from taxes. My question is should I split between savings and a credit card or put it all on a card? I can pretty much wipe out one of my smaller cards (I owe about 1700 on it) if I use it that way.
Thanks, idlecrush

btw - I have a job interview with the State dept. of taxation today for an entry level programmer job. My first ever interview for an IT related job since graduating school in may of 2008. Thoughts and prayers would be very much appreciated.
