I'm not sure if anyone announced it but our Southern Dixies have been doing a great job eliminating debt. Between September and October we've had 3 winners: DeepinTx, Ffflex, and our newest, Goalofzero.
Come on over to our board and share in the celebration!

Since it's so quiet around here, I thought I'd give an update on the puppies born in July.
Mama Bear's ancestry had been up for debate whether she was a Belgian or a German Shepherd. When DH bought her, she was advertised as a German but he kept running across people who insisted she had to be a Belgian. So we started telling people she was a Belgian even though she is not feathery enough. Enter our new to us vet who knows the parents. Mama Bear is a German Shepherd. Yeah.
Of the nine puppies, eight are gone. I don't think DH tried that hard with Drop Dead Gorgeous so we still have her. She has Frankenstein's black and tan colouring with Mama Bear's longer fur. I doubt now we will be able to re-home her before the New Year, if ever, because the poor baby caught Parvo. There went the vet emergency funds and that was with them being kind enough to write off the last 3 days of hospitalization. I hope no one else needs more than neutering and shots or DH and DD are going to be very sad.
DH has kept in touch with some of the new owners and I sometimes wish he hadn't. It was nice to think of the puppies of going off to good homes to live happy, healthy and long lives. Slim boy's owner's announced on Facebook he was lost in the bush. Luckily they found him later that day. Little Girl refused to eat and was very vocal the 1st few days at her new home. Drove them crazy but they stuck it out and now she's okay. Cat girl and Black boy got really sick. The house already had an older dog of a different breed. It decided it didn't like Cat and Black so it wouldn't let them eat and harassed them. The owners were able to re-home the older dog to a neighbour. They tell DH that the puppies are starting to gain weight and energy. Beautiful is doing well but DH got into a Facebook argument with her owner because she hasn't had her 2nd Parvo shoot yet. I'm sure he's been unfriended which wouldn't be a bad thing.
Because it took over 3 months to find homes for the puppies and Drop Dead caught Parvo, DH was going to cancel his plan of breeding Tree and Frankenstein next spring. He's cleaning up after Drop Dead right away but the bug will likely be in the yard for over a year. But now he's been getting phone calls and emails asking if we have puppies or are going to breed again. I guess our puppies are impressing the new owners' friends with their looks, brains and good temperment. DH is wavering again.
Of course, as DH say, he may be dead by then, so I guess I will worry about it when the time comes.

I was hoping to post after a few freelance cheques came in but I'm still waiting on them several months later. So for now, here's my update.... although it's been so long it's probably just a brand new race! So I'm adding in the car loan on top of the cc debt:
ldawngirl: 11/15/2013, $7,560
VISA (0% interest until March) - $3,035 Car loan - $4,525
The car loan is set to be done next summer unless we choose to pay it off sooner. Our primary aim is to pay off the cc, but at 0% interest, we're more focused on house stuff and the holidays for the next couple months.
Most of our major house projects are done now. We are getting new eavestroughs put on in a couple weeks, and we have some painting to be done, so a few odd jobs here and there. I'm hoping those will be done in the next month or so and then we can start saving again.

ldawngirl: 12/5/13 $6,583 (11/15/2013 $7,560, IU55)
VISA (0% interest until March) - $3,096 Car loan - $3,487
Our VISA balance went up a smidge due to some balance transfers I did as I try to keep the other cards down to $0 while also shopping for Christmas. I'm very happy to see our car loan go down by over $1,000. Now that the balance is so low, most of our payment is going to the principle and not interest, which is nice to see.
I'm still waiting on two freelance cheques! The total value of those is $1,500, which can make a good dent in the debt. But, we also found out in November that we needed a new furnace, so we just got that replaced, as well as the water heater. Thankfully we can add that to our utility bill.

Does anyone know why I keep getting the weird HTML text on my posts? When I first post, it is the first thing in the text, but then when I go to edit and delete it, it shows up at the end of my text... bertie- Welcome!!! If you send me a PM with your email address, I will email you an excel file that has an example table set up. Getting started can be tough, but its a huge first step and you've already taken it. Once your snowball gets going, you'll be amazed at how quickly the debt gets blasted away! Idawngirl- Are you copying your post from a word document? I get the same thing when I do that, and sadly I have no idea why. Great update!! mollyc- Awesome numbers lady! You're almost to your second $1000 paid off, nice work!
