Thanks financiallyinbc, I ask a lot of people what fruit trees they have. I live 45 mins from Williams Lake in Big Lake Ranch area. Can't get any more rural than me unless you live off the grid. I have 10 acres. My main problem is the deer. The only bears I have seen after 5 years is one little one and the one the horse chased out of his pasture. This year I planted grape and raspberry and blackberry in my fenced garden. It gets expensive the way my girls eat those. I agree come on sun. This morning it was snow/rain although that is good for my lawn that I threw seeds on yesterday.

UPDATE
ldawngirl: 5/17/11 | $7,935 (1/4/10 | $27,993 | IU10)
$20,058 (71.6%) paid off
Yay! Over $20,000 paid off! And under $8,000!
I have increased my bi-weekly loan payment by $25, which isn't a ton, so I won't miss it, but it'll help me get this paid off by next spring, which is my goal. I'm still planning on making some bigger lump payments here and there as well.
Still haven't gotten word that DF is officially done bankruptcy. I will be very excited when we get that letter in the mail! After that, we can start working on getting his credit rating up.
Everything else is going well. Both cats are now back to 100% thank goodness. Work has been insane and I have been doing a lot of overtime. But I get time off in lieu, and I need a few extra vacation days here and there!

Alice Too cute about the chicks! And scary about DD and the fridge!
Congrats Idawn on 20K paid off, being under 8K, and the kitties' good health!
I had a day-long department meeting at the new school (2.5 hours one way!) The people are FABULOUS, the atmosphere is fantastic, I think I will be SO happy there!
I volunteered for three days of testing potential students there over the next two weeks. To my surprise, I will be paid for the testing, and even for today's meeting! I will be teaching (as of Sept) at the campus near me, but I'll have to go to the main campus (2.5 hours away) four or five times a year.
I feel so blessed!!!
ETA: They offered to pay for a hotel room for the Paris teachers if we wanted to stay for their end-of-year dinner-dance party tonight. I declined because a) it's DS3's BD tomorrow b) we sign for the studio tomorrow c) I didn't know anybody (although I do now). But WOW! Hopefully next year LOL.
Also, the dep't head introduced the four new teachers (me included). He said, "Please let me introduce Mrs Debtheaven, one of our two new English teachers. She also happens to be the mom of (DS2, different last name, the one in Mexico who comes back in two days). But really, we didn't know that when we hired her!" With a laugh and big "stage wink" in my direction. Of course they knew, but DS2 can be a handful.
Several of the other teachers just burst out laughing ... LOL.

I got impatient and called DF's bankruptcy rep and... he's all done! They were actually just doing up the certificate today! Yay for him being out of bankruptcy!!!! I am sooooo happy! DF is sleeping right now, so I can't even share the good news with him just yet!
That's great DH! It sounds like a fabulous place to be working!

Zs That was an interesting article, thanks for posting it! But they were too extreme for my taste!
We signed on the studio this morning ... seven months later! I'm dying to put some of the 3K on the current 9.5 reno loan, but I know it's not a good idea. So instead I'm sending another 210 to the boiler loan, which means it will be gone next month.
Small victories! It's not the loan I hoped to be done with, but it'll be another zero nonetheless.

I know I'm not officially racing it, but I'm getting very excited to be done with the boiler loan on June 10. It won't make a huge difference financially (155e/mo) but it will compensate for rising prices, and psychologically, it will be great to be down to only three loans.
I'm getting very worried about my ability to pay for my half of DD's college costs, I have to start paying tuition in July. Happily her grandparents (my ex's parents) have offered to pay half her tuition. I should probably be more grateful but they and my ex gave DS1 and DS2 a full ride through their masters degrees, while living away from home, and paid all travel expenses.
DD wants to live at home and doesn't aspire to a masters. So I guess the "ugly" part of me wonders why they / my ex can't at least pay the tuition for her bachelors when they paid WAY more for her two big brothers. But of course I AM grateful that I only have to come up with 12K for her tuition over the next three years rather than 24K.

DH-Doesn't matter if you are racing it or not... still a goal accomplished and something to be very proud of! I am sorry your in-laws are not being fair with DD but thankfully they are paying something. Is DD going to be working to help pay for any of this? (just asking since i know things are more valuable when you help contribute yourself...)

Shoutouts! Idawngirl- Woo hoo for hitting the $20k paid off mark!! And another milestone with being under $8k, way to go!! I’m so glad to hear DH’s bankruptcy is done! ;D debtheaven- That’s great news that the group you’ll be working with is so wonderful! That can make a big difference. Glad things are finally settled with the studio, too. I’m sure things will work out with DD’s tuition, as you said. And paying off the boiler loan should help a little. EL1504- Less than a week, yahoo!

FFBC and Minnesota Thanks for the encouragement on the boiler loan! FFBC DD will be paid for her four-month internships (one semester per year for three years). But the plan is for her to use that money for that year's spending money / incidentals. So yes she will be working, but not paying for tuition. All my other kids have / had jobs during HS school (even my MS kid works!). But since DD was "fragile" and not a strong student, I didn't push her beyond the occasional babysitting job. She has a great work ethic (she's done several internships in her vocational HS) so I am not worried about her not taking it seriously. Minnesota Time continues to fly by!!!

Thanks everyone ;D
DH - We are going to replace some of the money we have borrowed from savings for various things and then save up again for a small holiday, a large holiday and a new fence! I'm going to have to join Writer over on the WIR savers thread.
Idawn - right now? exhusted, relieved and I know that I'm happy rather than feeling happy... does that make sense?
Anyway DH and I celebrated this evening with some takeaway (paid in cash)
