Hey, a chance to hit 1500. Today is the last day in Singapore and tomorrow sis and I will get home to our respective continents. Vacation will be over but since we are both retired at least there is not a heap of work crap waiting for either of us
Will miss DS until I see him again in Germany at Xmas time 😟

The current conspiracy theory is that Directed Energy Weapons were used to start the fires. The far-right-wing conspiracy theorists think it HIGHLY suspicious that NOT A SINGLE blade of grass on Barack Obama's property was burned in the fires. More rational people understand that there is more than 100 miles of Pacific Ocean water between the Maui fires and Obama's property on Oahu, and that wildfire embers are unlikely to traverse the distance.... But hey, why waste a conspiracy theory when it presents itself to you, right? Do they think that the Jewish Space Lasers are back in action? Why can't these idiots just keep their traps shut and wait for an investigation to be concluded.

Going to the pool in a few minutes. I dropped a large jar of mayo, the lid flew off and there was mayo EVERYWHERE! Then I dropped a large bottle of Lysol when I was trying to refill a small one. I'm dropping everything. I have a lot of cleaning to do do when I get back, and I was planning to make mushroom soup. This reminds me of one day when I was shopping at Aldi and a customer dropped a large bottle of olive oil in the checkout lane. The cashier calmly got up, put little plastic barricades in place and went over to the cleaning aisle and came back with a bottle of Fabuloso cleaner which she poured onto the olive oil. Then she went to the housewares aisle and got a string mop. Hopefully your Lysol will counter your mayo. One morning this week I managed to knock over the container of creamer we use in our coffee. All over the counter. I'm sure the neighbors heard me at 6:20 am using words that don't match my image as a community leader/ respectable person/little old ladyOn behalf of all the other little old ladies here, thank you for educating your neighbors by giving them a dose of reality about us not-so-spring chicken-like females.

That might be true but why in the world should my tax money be wasted on defending a dirt ball (public defender for Giuliani - explanation because the original post is too far back) who has been living high on the hog of the millions all while he was fomenting Jan 6? Unless he living under a bridge and getting his meals from a food kitchen he has still too much to qualify IMO Because he has a right to an attorney, and to have one appointed if he cannot afford it. And please know that it works so much better when there is an attorney involved. Pro Se liitigants are notoriously difficult to deal with, especially attorney pro se liitigants. Federal public defenders are there for a reason. Actually, the vast majority of criminal defendants have assigned counsel/public defender. Frankly, I'm about overdosed on schadenfreude that he can no longer afford to pay an attorney. No schadenfreude here. I just don't want to pay for him. I want him to find the money and pay for it himself - in other words I want to be convinced he doesn't have the money stashed somewhere just to get free counsel. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/note.gif) "Sous le ciel de NY" ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/note.gif) style

The Republicans were more afraid of trump and his lies then Cheney and the truth. She stood up for the real GOP, not the party of trump. She knew it would cost her her political career. It might not but it will take a lot of fascist wannabees to come to their senses and try to save their party. It will take a lot of time but, in politician years, she is still relatively young at 57.

Trying to schedule flights for last minute work trip as soon as I return from vacation. It is not going well. I say if I do not get home until after midnight on Thursday I am not working Friday. Or at least only responding to pertinent EMERGENCY emails. Fixed it for you. Unless it is an emergency they bloody well can wait until Monday

not every Republican is as weak and lazy as Mike Pence. some of them, when confronted with ugly, will reject it. I don't agree with her from a policy POV but Liz Cheney anyone...

I went into a William Sonoma store to see what the big deal is. I get it now. Can't afford much in it but wow what a wet dream of a store for a kitchen fanatic. I could afford a mug. 😁 It'll be my new one for work. I have gotten some fabulous deals on their sale tables. I handheld KitchenAid mixer for 75% off, incredible dish towels, and a few other things. I used to do a drive by of the sale table whenever I was in the mall. Alas, no WS here. Alas is relative: I am trying to downsize for my move but I have both a Sur la Table and a WS within walking distance. Walking out without buying anything is painful every time again. Alas...

Not a big birthday in the traditional sense of the certain years of birthdays people make a big deal out of. He will be 69yo next month. He’s only 69? I assumed he was creeping up on 80 from how he acts. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/yeahthat.gif) I hadn't realized he is younger than I am . For some reason I assumed he was an OLD person, not someone barely on the other side if their prime.

Loving reading the posts about kiddos and plants growing, problems and joys!! So ODS (‘the doctor’) called , he’s taking 2 weeks vacation to stay with us starting with day prior to my surgery. Both Jerseyguy and I dissolved into tears, guess we didn’t really comprehend stress we’re under. After the miserable telecon with head of the NJ DOE all of us in the charity were so upset. VP and I have each 16 years of Catholic schooling and we’re sending texts to each other calling her BITCH. Well call YDS (‘the writer’), voice of reason , no don’t send her flaming sarcastic letter, appeal to the (Bitch) sense of power ask her how can we help. He offered to do research to find state gov officials who have helped disabled, etc So put lightening bolts and flaming letters aside . So wine glass full and ready for remainder of week these are the times that confirm that you did more than just a little bit right as parents. Enjoy the love coming back at you

Reading recent posts, I keep thinking “I’ll help you declutter”, but nobody lives anywhere near me. I like getting rid of stuff and organizing what’s left. Which makes living with Mister a bit challenging. It was not very satisfying when we were shoveling out his Aunt’s den and kitchen though, because it was so nasty and gross and I was so afraid some critter was going to pop out and surprise me. There are definitely critters in her house. We literally should’ve had a shovel. And probably a HazMat suit. All we had were gloves though. I don’t like sorting through papers though. Everything else is fair game. I’d take you up on it! First stop, my closet! Well since Pink Cashmere would already be in the PNW she would only need to come a bit south from there after she is done helping you. My vacation would be over so I will be back. Just something to contemplate...

One could possibly argue that it does not apply to the loser since he was not sworn in as an officer of any state. That said my counter argument would be that as POTUS he was sworn in ad an officer of of ALL states plus DC and the US territories. And in my personal opinion that makes it worse since he failed 50+ times. Maybe swamp will provide less emotional* but legal opinion. *I really don't like that orange makeup addict and I know that colors my opinion a tad too much...

Waiting for Dsis to wake up. Per our bodies we are in different time zones from each other as well from our location. We had planned to be in the Botanical Gardens at around 8:30am but sis was (and is) still asleep. I will take a shower shortly and then kick her out of bed. I was rewarded for my patience in letting her sleep in though as we would have been soaked had we followed our original plan: we just had one of those tropical downpours that are common in Singapore. It's vacation time - not let's run around like crazy to get everything in time

i am not sure they want a civil war. they would settle for a fascist dictatorship. The Civil War is to accomplish that. I wonder how many of those classified documents had were about military strategies against countries like Russia . I have to say I'm kinda relieved the Russian military is tied up in the Ukraine right now. But I wonder how many resources Putin has mobile in the U.S. to support friendly (to him) causes. I wonder what and Putin talked about in that meeting kicked all Americans out of. I wonder how many foreign dignitaries stay at Maralargo and golf with him That is a horrendous statement to make considering that the Ukrainians have been at war for over 17 months by now. It does support your feelings about the loser and the damage he still can do quite well though, but still...

Dear Miss Prudence (or whoever is handling etiquette questions these days...), I received an invitation today, to apparently just a wedding reception*. This event will be in October, near Salem, MA (Hammond Castle, for empress of self-improvement ). I went to the bridal shower a few weeks ago, and it was a train wreck for me to get there on a Saturday morning, even worse to get home. This wedding reception is 6pm on a Friday night, in October. And, oh by the way, I'm not sure if my pup needs majorly invasive knee surgery with a 10wk restrictive recovery period....where this event will squarely land. *I popped up a message to my sister to ask if I'd missed something. and I got read the riot act for having missed shit posted on social media other than FB (I have FB and LinkedIn) and when I mentioned that our parents aren't online AT ALL, and things should be fucking clear, she went off again. apparently the ceremony is immediate fam only.....and that *is absolutely FINE* but it isn't anywhere on the wedding website, which is where the invite directs you to go for details. I'm not RSVP'ing til pretty much the last minute before the deadline. but my question is, WIBTA if I declined? It's my cousin's kid, firstborn great-grand on my dad's side. Cousin's Dad was my godfather, and my parents 'adopted' her family when my aunt and uncle passed within months of each other, 18y ago. I gifted $100 at the shower.....that was an ordeal for me to attend. I'm really not interested in repeating the experience on a Friday night in October. thanks, -chiver It's of course up to you to decide whether you accept or not but with this distant relationship don't be surprised if you get an invitation from some of Kevin Bacon's family members if you decide to go

Thanks for fob advice!! Problem is can’t get into car. There isn’t a key I will get an Uber to the clubhouse parking lot. Then get online to club and try using my phone app to unlock. Once I can get into car will be able to use app to start. Also once into car I can turn off ‘lock when parked’. I’m also going to call Tesla to see if they can help. Also a $4500 donation check was sent to the NJ deaf association from same person. Terrible to try to scam disabled people. It sure looks like there is something going on with those donations jerseygirl . However, I am not sure whether these donations are an attempt to scam the charities or an attempt by the financial advisor to scam his client - like you (donor) gave $4,500 to each see copy of checks, while pocketing $2,000 for himself by asking that amount back? Or possibly being a contract manager for a couple of decades has made me way to cynical but still...

This afternoon I delivered DS2 and family to SFO The house is now so very quiet and I won't get to see the littles again in person until mid December - nor DS2 and DDIL for that matter but somehow it is different with adults Tomorrow I will be crazy busy with laundry, packing, and preparing the condo to be painted on the outside this coming week On Tuesday I will start my trip to SE Asia where I will arrive on Wednesday and get to see DS1 ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/smile.gif) . All in all a whirlwind of activity the coming days where the quiet house will be offset with the joy of getting to see DS1 and his partner again. Oh, and Dsis2 will fly to SE Asia from the Netherlands as well - so another reunion to look forward to.

ken a.k.a OMK that sounds great but I am reminded of that great song done by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes and by Simply Red (for the younger folk): "If you don't know me by now, You will never, never, never know me." Since we are quoting and we probably all agree televising the proceedings will not change all, and possibly most, trumpers opinion I will give you something else to consider : whoever saves but one life saves the world!

Good to know. Trump Reportedly 'Irked' By 1 Word From Judge During ArraignmentDonald Trump on Thursday insisted it was a “great honor” to be arraigned in federal court on charges related to his actions after the 2020 election. But there was at least one moment during the proceedings when the former president was reportedly less than thrilled. That came after Trump’s attorneys identified him to Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya as “President Trump.” “Good afternoon, Mr. Trump,” Upadhyaya replied. CNN’s Kaitlan Collins said that she’d been told Trump didn’t like being called “Mr. Trump,” noting that it “irked him particularly.” “That may not sound odd to anyone else, but he is still referred to by his former title, President Trump, when he’s at his Bedminster golf club in New Jersey, as he is tonight, or at Mar-a-Lago,” she explained Rest of article here: Trump Reportedly 'Irked' By 1 Word From Judge During ArraignmentI get it how on a personal level it bothered him. Thinking beyond that and to a trial. What, if any, impact would it have on jury members it the prosecution and judge refer to him as Mr. or as President? Which will the defense use? Would it make a difference if the prosecution uses Mr. and defense President? If the defense sees an advantage (or just to please their client), might they make a motion requiring use of President? To me personally calling the loser Mr. President is the equivalent of validating his claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him so no, it absolutely should not be done under the circumstances.

Today I was called out on local social media for my work with our community association. The poster said I was old (yup, I'm 75), entrenched (yup, been here since '91 and owned my house since '95 so I guess that qualifies for the entrenched label), and ignorant (maybe, not sure what she means exactly. I don't have a college degree, but I can comprehend the written word, write it too, and make sense of financial statements produced by the CPA, provide meaningful testimony in a court of law etc.) Interesting. Did that poster also mention that you need to sit your old, entrenched, ignorant (?), behind down to pee? S/he sounds like such an enlightened young (?) person. Reminds me of a youngish colleague a number of years ago. He was smugly stating that people over 40 were really much slower - while looking straight at me. And for once I had my comeback at the right moment. He was not the brightest to begin with so my response to him was "lucky for you because you can't even keep up with me right now as it was. Just think how badly he would compare if I hadn't been slowing down for a couple of decades". That was the last time he ever tried to be rude to me again.

And jesus. Pee Wee herman died. I just saw that. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/cry.gif) I had no clue he was 70. Pee Wee's Big Adventure is one of my all time favorite movies. I was also today year's old when I learned Lawernce Fishburn was a part of Pee Wee's Playhouse. That's it? Just goes to show how distorted estimated age gets if you only "know" someone through reruns. I always thought he was much older than I am, turns out I was probably getting potty trained when he was born

So after I searched for and played Zoom on Apple Music, it has kept playing other songs Apple thinks I might like. The last one was a song I know and like by Bill Withers. It made me think about how my Aunt use to play the blues when she’d have gatherings at her house, I was a kid and didn’t like the blues, but she told me one time “You don’t like blues music now, but just keep living baby”. And I’ll be damned if she wasn’t right. Not only did I come to like that genre of music, but I also learned that it was the birth of many other genres. You can hear it in the old gospel songs that were sang in Black folks churches back in the day, you can hear it in the early days of R&B, and even in the early days of rock and roll, even in the music ugly ass Elvis Presley made. I think I should just stop posting and take my ass to sleep now. Goodnight! Let's try this. Sometimes it works for me, at other times it does not
