Nothing else matters but the bottom line. He is a total failure rating of 36% make him the worst clown ever Wrong again. And worse, not even close to being true on either score. Your history shows over 1500 posts. If one had the time to go back and review, would there be even one worth reading for anything other than comedic relief? Being both wrong and (seemingly) borderline-illiterate in most every post can't be good. Trust us. Well, now he makes Jimmy Carter only the 2nd worse President.

this same ruse is made for every tax cut. just because revenues recover, does NOT mean that the cuts "paid for themselves". here is a helpful analogy (and an accurate one*). you have a job. you are paying your bills and not really saving*, but getting by. you decide that you will take a job you like better for less pay. fast forward five years- you are making the same amount as you made in your previous job, but during that time, your credit card debt has ballooned to five figures. what person in their right mind would conclude that moving to the new job "paid for itself". *note that the analogy for the US is doubling the credit card debt, since we have not had even close to a balanced budget since that wild eyed liberal Clinton was in office. what these right wing analyses overlook is the revenues that were LOST during the time it takes to "get back to where they were". OTA Paper 81 has analyzed these impacts really well. it is unfortunately quite an overlooked document: home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/tax-policy/office-of-tax-analysis-working-papers-and-technical-papersThis does not change the fact democrats screamed this was a tax cut for the rich and big business and tax revenue would fall. It did not.

Let's see now. My prediction. House of Representatives, Pubs gain 19 seats, enough for a majority, but impossible to get all of them to vote as a block on just about anything, unless most are Trump's peeps and he says vote for the legislation. Senate, Pubs gain 2 or 3 seats, and will vote as a block 95% of th time..... So, basically another two years of gridlock.........

At least Biden has a train of thought that he can get back too. Have you listened to trump? His handlers are afraid to correct him. He gets crazier everyday. What train of thought are you seeing? Ramblings of an old senile man..........

By the way, is anyone following the pot stocks lately? They are way down. Is it time to throw some money their way for say the next year's time frame? Eventually Congress is going to have to upgrade the federal law to accommodate medical, industrial, and possible recreational usage. The school I retired from just started a program to research growing hemp for industrial purposes. I don't know when the laws will change but I think when they do the pot stocks will benefit greatly. I do not own any at this time but was looking at Canopy Growth last week. I am keeping an eye on Tilray and Canopy Growth. With my name being Value Buy, I am breaking bad!

We are discussing selling a stock to hold us to the end of the year so we stop draing the IRA'S even more, but then se lower our dividend income.........creating a higher need to withdraw from retirement accounts in future years.

Well, our balances have officially declined by the amounts we need for four years of currrent living expenses so far this year. This does not include what we have pulled out of the accounts this year.
IS anyone having a similar experience? Is there anything you are doing to stem the destruction, or just hanging in and hoping for a recovery at this point?
Our personal stock portfolio is being currently held up via oil and utility stocks, but they started taking a hit the last ten days also.

And….the money appeared today! Whew! My husband plans to move it for sure. I'll tell him to get moving on that. Thanks everyone! You probably do not even have to move it. Just sign in every few months to look at the balance so there is activity on his part. I imagine it was suppressed due to inactivity on his part, but the company should have tried to contact you by email or postage mail before doing the suppression. Myself, I can not fathom looking at the account for a long time. Were you getting quarterly or year end statements?

I see the democrats think they managed to salvage enough safe districts across the country in the redistricting process for the House races by squeezing out some Republican Congresssional districts into Democrat controlled areas. I doubt if it will stem the Republican wave this fall but the Republican majority might be five seats or so closer than originally thought. i wish that were true. unfortunately, Democrats seem to be focused on making elections more fair rather than skewing them to their advantage. and the result is that they lose the advantage of redistricting the states in their favor in states they control. in other words, they are playing democracy against neofacists. they are going to lose that battle, because the neofascists don't give a fuck about democracy. at all. Well, some courts did throw out the Congressional drawn maps in Democratic controlled states that were drawn with extreme bias this year as they did with Repblican controlled states. Might have balanced it out in the end.

I am flumoxed whether to go short or long this week. Al the oil stocks look good this week but will pounce at the opening today. I was going with X this week, United States Steel, long, but everyone says if there is a recession coming steel stocks are dead for now, but do not want to short it. KBH, is interesting. Naturally this is a housing stock that has been clipped by the rising interest rate scenerio. They also report this week. Even if they report great earnings I do not think their forward looking statement will be good to them. KBH, short.

It was a stupid tax cut. The majority of the benefit went to rich people. With the deficit at records high and the economy doing well, a tax cut was the last thing we needed. They should have either 1 Left it alone and let the deficit come down 2 Cut taxes on those at the lower end of the income scale. Then the tax cut really would have benefitted those at the lower income brackets. Instead, they threw those people a bone and cut taxes significantly for people like me, which, predictably blew up the deficit. You are so wrong. www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/the-numbers-are-in-trumps-tax-cuts-paid-off/ar-AAY22Kg?li=BBnbfcL

I am probably not back here until late Monday so I have to make a pick tonight.
I am expecting oil to go higher this coming week. ROCC has been good to me but to expect three weeks in a row is a bit much, and tempting the market Gods, so.......... I still like the oil complex. Occidental Petroleum Corp, ticker, OXY. In early 2018 it traded in the $86 a share range, with oil at $60 to $65 a barrel. Ths week it actually traded down from a 52 week high, at about $70 and change with WTI in the $115 range, but I can see this company start climbing again in the coming week if oil climbs from the Friday close. I expect this one to climb to near $100 a share in a couple of months, if oil stays near these prices. I would have picked XOM for many of the same reasons, but I think XOM might stall if it breaks $100 this week and is very near that as of the Friday close.
OXY, long

Value Buy still leads with one day to go. The benchmark is second and Ombud third. If Value Buy wins this week's contest I am going to have a double double-shot of bourbon before I make next week's pick. Got me some premium Wild Turkey on the way home. I missed Bulleit in Shelbyville and Woodford Reserve because we ran out of time, and it was too far east of our route, as it was late in the evening. Looks like just like everything else, you have to start placing reservations online in advance for tours on some of them........ We were taking I 65, and should have taken I 75 to the east. Next year we just might, but darn I want to stop at the Corvette museum and onelast time for Mammoth Cave too! Kentucky has 18 signature distilleries and another 23 or so craft distillers just on the Bourbon trail.

Well my pick jumped way early at the gate.He jumped up about two feet at the gate! Opening price was too high and will take awhile to get above it. I failed to mention another pick I had in mind this week is LULU, but has been trading really franatic last couple of months. Was going to go long. People seem to love the product. EDIT: seems like most of us had a giddy up at the opening bell with our horses

Well, I see the democrats here are still full tilt Biden fanatics, but have to post about Trump here. Get over it. He is not in office. Biden is kaput, might not make it til the Presidential election as dems might cut bait soon and go with the V.P. Does not matter to me. Democrats look like the Republican party of the 1960's trying to survive after going with Goldwater in 1964. Took years to climb out if that hole. Dems have now lost working class whites, soccer moms, losing big with Spanish Americans, and now blacks are wondering wht the heck is going on. The $15 minimum wage now has to be $20, $25 per hour range to survive today's prices. The Squad is probably not in hiding these days but mass media pretends they are no longer in Congress as they are out of the news. Speaks volumes for Biden when they are not out in our faces daily. He has no where to hide these days. Five dollar gasoline headed to six dollars. In 2020 we were oil independent. What happened? Biden and the democrats. Anyone realize we are now losing independent truck drivers who are not working as employees of large transportation companies as they are idling rigs or only taking short mileage hauls these days because they now lose money on long haul runs? $5.50 and higher diesel is about to disrupt the inflation cycle causing more rising prices, if the stuff even gets delivered in the next few months.

Good Morning! WTI and Brent still climbing. Cannot ignore it on stock picks just yet. I want to pick another horse this week, looked at CVX, MRO, OXY, FANG......and know it is usually bad for me to go with the same horse two weeks in a row. BUT, ROCC hit a high on rising oil back in September of 2018 when oil was $75 to $76.90 a barrel and stock price hit near $90. Has room to keep climbing this week. Strange thing is, the upcoming qtr profit reporting period is "unavailable" and I worry about something not being quite kosher. the further out periods all have projected numbers. I dislike my horses on a short trading week. My horses usually prefer a longer track than a short one Oil is around $118 and still climbing this week. ROCC, long

i saw the GOP governor candidate citing Corinthians in his victory speech. another victory for Dominionism. this nation is doomed. Well, you cannot remember when we were doomed when Kennedy was elected President in 1960! Now we have another Catholic President, and we know we are doomed! (in case anyone wonders, sarcasm, people, sarcasm) Except for Biden, religion aside, his policies and mental capacity have doomed America to third world levels

PA GOP is very unhappy about that - thanks to Trumps meddling the have a candidate running for Governor who has pledged to conduct a 2020 election audit (because that’s what it took to get Trump to back him). PA thinks Mastriano is unelectable.
Similar circumstances in GA where stone faced Perdue starts every stump speech with ‘Trump won the 2020 election’ but in GA, the current Governor Kemp is leading him by 32 points. he damned well should be. Lawrence O'Donnel framed this race as the only thing standing between democracy and dictatorship. i think that is a bit dramatic, but i see his point. You lost me at Lawrence O'Donnel, the king of Russian collusion disinformation.

FYI, Heading back to Indiana this morning for the summer. Looks like we are making it a three day trip, and might hit a distillery or two on the way home. Jack Daniels for sure! There is another distillery in Kentucky I would like to visit, and no, it is not a big one!
I probably will not be checking in here while on the trip back.

Speaking of stacking the jury......... There are three people on current trial of the lawyer accused of lying to the FBI about not representing anyone when in fact he billed the Clinton campaign for hours while talking to the FBI, WHO admitting to Hillary's campaign as well as another whose daughter knows the accused. And as far as your statement... four years of this shit and nothing stuck. Maybe just like the dossier it is all fake. Say that again in different words. I’m not sure what you’re trying to say. Or attach an article I can read. Are you saying there are 3 people on the jury for the man Durham accused of lying to the FBI who are some kind of plants or something? I apoligize. I could swear I wrote that the three jurists had donated to Hillary Clinton's campaign. I think they should have not been allowed to sit on the jury. The attorney on trial is the one accused of lying to the FBI. I realize how poorly my comment was written, and I have not been around (except checking in to Investing basics forum until tonight to read the comments.

NBEV, I use to follow this stock but have not looked at it for at least over a year ago. I think I even played this one at least one time. I am shocked this is a penny stock. They have or did have a few top tier items in their mix. Evidently their top items are worthless to competitors these days, otherwise another company would have bought this company up.

I was thinking of putting some lipstick on this pig of a market, ELF, but you know what they say, you cannot put lipstick on a pig because it is still a pig, so going with another oil play this week. dj, I agree about metals, just not ready yet to back a play there......... Oil does look strong again. MRO was my first thought but is up in early trading, and will probably fade on the day leaving me in a hole, so will go with Ranger Oil company. ticker, ROCC, long.
Congratulations to last week's winners!

trump was right about one thing, he'll never be found guilty of anything. There will be one trumper on every jury. I don't equate trumps narcistic actions to anything Clinton or Biden did.
