I don’t know about that. Benghazi. I am not sure they are comparable.
but even if they are, how many votes did that cost Clinton?
Ahh, she did lose. Just sayin' Personnally I cannot remember the last time I heard Benghazi on the news.

Biden’s popularity has certainly taken a big hit. However, the bills he’s attempting to get passed are still popular with the majority of the voters. If the bills get passed, if Covid finally subsides, I think Biden will recover. Politics is always a crap shoot. Are their polls out there showing the majority of the voters? I understand most democrats are for it, but I do know a few that are saying, "are you kidding me?" And there are polls out there showing a growing number of citizens are concerned with his competance level.

On a humorous note... my sibling was stressed/upset about the coming natural gas shortage and how they feared there might not be enough to heat their home and how prices would jump astronomically... and then started ranting about how America has stopped "fracking" or whatever and how very wrong that is.... And I was like, um, we don't live in the UK or Europe... America has got plenty of Natural Gas - we export it to other countries. I don't think you need to worry about "rationing" and I don't think you need to worry about "astronomical" prices.... Yes, the cost of natural gas may go up - it's been low/cheap for a lot of years. And the cost does go up an down (cyclically). I really wish my relatives would watch more than one news station. My BFF "heard" or "read" that Forever postage stamps were temporarily (for 3 months) jumping up to 75 cents each starting today. She was in a panic to buy stamps - she doesn't online bank and doesn't have anything charged to her CC so she mails EVERY bill every month. And I was like, "Wow! that's big news! That seems weird that the price of stamps would jump for 3 months.... did you google for more info??" As far as I can tell - the price of First Class Stamps is not going up. The costs to mail some packages/envelopes is going up. You are correct about no natural gas shortage in the U.S. Now, let's talk about natural gas pricing on the energy markets. It has doubled over last year at this time. Last year this month it was trading in the $2.50 range on the futures market. Today it is near $5.40 on the exchanges for I believe the November delivery contract. Understand that not all natural gas utilities buy all their ng needs in advance through forward month contracts. Some have storage facilities where they buy the ng at cheap prices in the summer and selling it when needed to the consumers at the low price in the winter. Half way through the season they have to replenish these storage areas with the higher priced ng and raise the heating bill accordingly. Some do, others do not buy futures contracts months ahead of delivery. Adding to the fact some customers have the ability to buy their needs from whoever they want but do not realize their low prices are susceptible to a huge price swings upward because these companies have been buying their product on excess supplies selling for less than the futures contracts. If we have a severe cold December, you can expect all utilities will be charging at a minimum, twice the rate for the NG than last year. Most state regulators covering utility costs allow the utilities to pass the cost of the gas onto the customers and utilities only receive the "percentage over cost" allowed by the state Regulators. I am expecting to pay twice as much for ng this year over last years cost of ng. And this is only based on current pricing. Europe is in trouble because right now they are paying in the near $20 range for ng compared to us here in the U.S. if they can even find enough ng to purchase. There was even an electric utlity that was out of coal this week over there for whatever reason.......Keep an eye on European news about this issue to forecast what happens here. Granted, we will never hit the $20 range here.

By the way, looking at the guy's beard, I am not inclined to believe he is protected properly.........that said, I probably would not eat at this establishment as it makes me wonder what corners they might be cutting there.

I sure hope so. But the burden of proof might be difficult to establish. Swamp? Merica - you can always sue. Do you have any chance of winning? That is the real question. In this situation, unless you were forced to remain in that environment, I would struggle to find in your favor. dondub 's point is also very valid. Depends on the state. Stopped overnight at a motel in Georgia. On the front door of the office was a large sign stating (as close as I can remember) You accept all risk that by entering thess premises you may become infected with covid, and per state law the establishment cannot be held liable. That may not be word for word but pretty much covered the statement intent. Maybe Kadee could tell us if this is true?

I know there seems to be the mantra of fewer commercial drivers on the job, but try driving on any state road or any interstate. They are out there, at least hauling heavy indstry products. Granted the car transports are missing but that is due to the chip shortage. What is not discussed anywhere, is how many drivers have been diverted to the southern border delivering bottled water, food dupplies and necessities every day? How many trucks of water are delivered across the southern border by the federal government? These are drivers are not delivering to their usual routes of grocery stores or Wal Mart centers, etc, across the country. How many food manufacturers are now processing fat inflated government contracts fulfilling food requirements to possible illlegal border crossers every day that are delivered by commercial truck and some companies diverting some manufacturing away from their retail markets? I have young relatives complaining diapers are sporadically out of stock now. Do you think, there is an even a slight chance diapers are headed to the Texas and Arizona border instead of Wal Mart and Krogers? Now add FEMA into the picture the last two months fighting hurricanes and torrential rains from Louisiana, all the way up the east coast as well as inland states such as Tennessee delivering food and water supplies to staging areas in how many states? All these products are diverted from the usual distribution system. Can anyone in any actual knowledgable position tell America how many trucks and drivers have been diverted every day to emergencies and taken off the usual land destinations across the country? 25? 50? 150? 300? 600? How many?

Florida lottery and still has not updated. Just checked Hoosier lottery. $620,000,000 Saturday! Got to invest another two dollars in a ticket without one number being hit. Five draws in a row without one number! I never invest in lottery. I buy a ticket for the entertainment I get thinking about how to spend the money. Yeh, I get it. As an invester, I have to admit lotteries are a losing proposition. I have to tell myself it is an investment that becomes a windfall. Sitting at home dreaming about what we would do with the pot does give some comic relief, but in reality would turn into a mental emergency in about two days wondering what do we really do now that we won it. The great thing about the larger pots, there are usually multiple winners cutting the win by a half or a third limiting the mental stress. I think we could all live with a $200,000,000 problem. Lump sum would be somewhere around 125,000,000 to 150,000,000?? The first thing I would want to do is invite Billisonboard and dj to a sitdown discussion in person. I think it would be very interesting and a valuable mental exercise for me. Not sure if either of them would get anything out of it from me, but whatever...... Then $50,000,000 put into various longterm investments to grow the pot, in a solid trust of course. Ten million spread around to various foodbanks. Ten million to tunnel to towers Ten milllion to a specific group building housing in a specific city I will not mention for underpriveleged families What do you tip to the clerk who sold you the winning numbers? Now there is a problematic number to come up with imo Ten million to various mental health organizations, of which at this time I have no clue who is the most worthy for the money......... Ten million spread around buying old hospital bills relieving people of their debt. The ten million would be two million a yr over five years so we are positive it is being used wisely. Still leaves $25,000,000 to $50,000,000 to play with, so a few more charities ?? Love typing the numerals rather than ten million dollars, as it keeps it real for me. At our current age, the $200,000 sports cars and ten million dollar homes are not necessary, and the boys, grandkids and great grandkids would be set up for their futures. Would have to worry about that one as the Democrats will come after all that free money soon. you know, "you did not earn that (not that that matters to them) but the government lottery gave it to you" excuse. Not one penny to any politician or political party. (might have to rethink that one, if I can find a real conservative politician) Bills is correct we can all get some entertainment out of it. Dream on..........

I still have to wonder why Americans didn't get their affairs in order and get out when Trump made the agreement with terrorist in Feb 2020. Given his pattern, Trump may make an agreement to pull out by May 2021, get up one day and tweet we leaving today! Maybe that whole scene at the airport is a false flag that republicans staged to make Biden look bad. See, I can do it too! And very well.

Once again, Trump is not the President. Biden is. Biden chose the path of evacuation. Where in the six pg. document did Trump promise to remove troops from there before American citizens and to place Afghans and our few troops into a killing zone, feeding them down a path similar to a cow path into the slaughter house that was blocked at the airport? No one here on the board disagrees it was time to get out of there. The complaint is how we did it. Evidently that is my complaint and no one elses..... even his Generals all say they suggested leaving 2,500 troops there to the end. One even stated he recommended they stay there for security purposes after August 30th. I get it. I have Biden syndrome.

Except that the GOP plans to use Afghanistan as a rallying cry, in the same way they continued to beat the Benghazi! dead horse. This was not a Biden fuck up. This was a Trump fuck off that he handed to Biden, giving him zero good options. Trump May think he covered his tracks by removing his comments bragging about how he forced Biden to leave, but nothing posted on the internet ever goes away. The Dems need to learn to push back hard on the bullshit for 2022 and 2024 - because that’s pretty much all we’re going to hear from the Trumpists. nobody gave a shit about Afghanistan 12 months ago. I predict they will have moved on 12 months from now.
So true. The attention span of things political for most citizens is about one month, unless we are talking about specific personalities in both politcal parties, ie, the Presidency, the Senate, or the House. We can probably add the Supremes at this point........

I know someone who won't get vaccinated because they had Covid, so according to them, they don't need to. Ugh. Are you saying they do not have some immunity built into their system? Not true. Some medical people say they have stringer immunity than from the vaccine. Immunity whether natural from having covid, or from having the shot, does not mean you will not catch a variant. The infectiion is usually a mild case if reinfected. Some medical professionals are not sure you should receive a shot if you have recovered from covid.

Biden stopped everything else Trup accomplished and yet he said he could not break the agreement even when the agreement stated if agreement was not followed we could change our stance at any time. I guess Biden did not read all of the six very hard to understand (for Biden to understand) pages........All three Generals stated on the record this week they told Biden to keep the 2,500 troops there, This is on Biden. Instead he decided to stick to Kabul where the Taliban asked him if he wanted to maintain control of the city during the withdrawl and he said, no you can take over now. It’s long past time to give a shiite about Afghanistan. That the Repo-Cons are whining now when they are the idiots that started it is just their typical hypocrisy. So much for being the party of responsibility. Even mentioning Trump’s f’d up treaty that didn’t include the Afghan govt. (negotiating with terrorists) and that he aided in the freeing of 5000 imprisoned Taliban fighters is now TDS! Yeah right. Please reference post #2 Time to pay attention to who is running the show these days, but then we all know it is not Biden.........as long as he gets his ice cream every night all is good with his thoughts.

I’m just one random Black person and I can only speak for myself and share what other Black people have said to me. Many Black people that I know have gotten the vaccine, many with reservations, but they felt they were damned if they do, and damned if they don’t, because the virus seems to have taken a toll on Black folks, especially Black men. Some of the reasons Black people seem to be hit harder with the virus may have something to do with healthcare needs and how likely they are to seek medical treatment for underlying conditions, if they have the means to pay for it, insurance and whatnot. Idk, and I’m not going to argue about any of it. And yes, there is another group that does not trust the government and medical community at all to be straight with them about what’s really going on….. what the real reason is that they want to poke them with needles and inject something in their bodies. We can fuss and disparage them all day long, but I most definitely understand the distrust of government AND the medical community. These people are not the ones running around saying there’s a chip in the vaccine or any of the other outrageous claims. But they are wary of the vaccine because HISTORY has proven that Black folks are “expendable” and it’s ok to lie to and use Black folks to their detriment and with out their approval. What I hear is that it’s called a “vaccine”, but at the same time, it’s said that it won’t prevent a person getting sick from the virus, they just maybe won’t get terribly sick and/or die….. Which is not exactly what even I thought a “vaccine” is supposed to do. So even with the vaccine, a person can still spread the virus to other people. Correct? So I don’t have a good answer when I’m asked how the vaccine is supposed to stop the spread when even vaccinated individuals can spread the virus. Maybe some of you that are smarter than me can give me an answer that makes sense that I can take back to people I know that asks those questions. Because all I have at that point is just looking stupid with no real answer. Evidently it is not just a black person's issue. A couple of weeks ago I read an article that in NYC Hispanics are behind blacks in getting vaccinated, and surprisingly, at least to me, Asians were far behind both groups. Please do not ask for a reference, as I was just browsing the internet, and came upon it....... EDITED TO CORRECT AN ERROR! Asians is the correct word I should have used. TY Andi

I'm surrounded by Trumpers and I live alone. Ain't no sign for nothing going in my yard. Will my subdivision is basically Republican, but the Trump signs were constantly stolen or damaged in the fall election. Does that automatically mean the democrats did it? Teenagers? Or just one person who went overboard?

Wondering if CEI has been picked up by the ROBINHOOD crowd. For some reason I started watching this stock three weeks ago, but cannot remember why I did it. Unfortunately I did not buy any, but wondering if Robinhood people are in it, does this thing go to $10, $20 or beyond? When looking at the description on CNBC stock pg, there does not seem to be much there, as they do not even give quarterly estimates on their performance to the public. Watching CNBC at five pm last night I noticed a lot of movement on the after hours stock ticker.

Trump derangement syndrome is still alive and well here, as well as in Biden's head. Time to move on.
