I went out this afternoon and picked up my laptop which was fixed for free under warranty. I wandered around window shopping for a while and spent absolutely no money. I was really trying to stay away from my refrigerator. Success on both counts.

Way to go Malarky! I am staying in again today so I should make it. But to put staying in in perspective, yesterday I did a deep cleaning of the kitchen, bathroom, living room, entranceway and my bedroom. I love the feeling of a clean house and maintenance will take me no time. Today I am playing on here, shovelling, painting, bathing and playing with Charlie. Life is good!

Welcome Bella! It will be great to have you. I think I'll start the thread to get ready.

So I'm at $1070 for variable expenses. I have a quarter tank of gas in the car. I am going to have to fill up tomorrow. I don't like getting that low in winter. To even it out I will make sure the tank is full to start March too. Other than that I should not have to spend tomorrow. Please God!

I used January as a key to my spending. I haven't really kept track of what I spend my money on because I just transfer a certain amount over to savings each payday and spend whatever I need. But I found out I spend a lot on things I don't really "need" so am going to try and cut back in February.

I filled the car with gas today to the tune of $41. So my final tally for January was...drumroll....$1,111. LOL I really didn't do that on purpose. The sad part is that really is a lot less than I spent on my variables the two months before. Okay, I'm closing the door on January.

Later, Good on you for posting your numbers. And for making me want to play. I so missed the "low spend" boat in January. February is a new opportunity.
