I have an issue with affirmative action. I have an issue with ALL things discriminatory. Unless it is some job that requires a certain level of muscle or something I would prefer that applications did not even have age, gender, race, nothing. Qualifications only. krickitt-I believe it was on the new P&M board you had voiced strong concern (prior to your accident) no one would hire you because you were female and you were 54 or so years old. Women 40 years of age and older would have an even tougher time securing jobs in various employment fields if there weren't affirmative action laws (in your case age and gender) in place. I did attempt to find the actual post where you stated no one would hire you because of your gender and age but ProBoards only allows a maximum of 1,000 posts to search. Searching the maximum 1,000 posts only took me as far back as May 2 and your injury was prior to that date.

You went through 1000 of my posts??? LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a discussion going on here. You can read it, you know. Or you can go reread 1000 of my posts.
The whole world is not about ME. I made myself clear on the previous pages, as well as everyone else engaged in a really civil discussion on this thread-- for once.

krickitt-why not go through 1,000 of your posts to find the actual quote of yours claiming you were being discriminated against because of your age and gender? That specific quote of yours regarding you being discriminated against because of your age and gender was not on this thread. Additionally, you also brought up job discrimination and affirmative action in this thread (in addition to posting about illegals).
You are the one who stated in this thread you are against all things discriminatory. You yourself have previously claimed you were discriminated against because of your age and gender. Yet you claim the very laws which protect you and offer relief from discrimination are also discriminatory.
If you don't want to discuss discrimination and affirmative action, then keep it out of your thread(s).

The discussion was yesterday, Tenn, in a group discussion with people knocking around ideas. You are clearly baiting me, as you know I do not discuss things with you. Leave me alone or I may have to report you to yourself.
Just because I am having issues finding a job because I am old does not conflict with my opinion that jobs should be given fairly, with no consideration of gender, race, etc. Not at all. Affirmative action IS discriminatory, whether or not it may work in my favor. Once again I am accused of... what??? Thinking of the greater good rather than of MEMEME?? I must be a stupid person. Now I am through, but you can continue if you choose.

And don't tell me what to put in "my" thread. This is of interest to several of us. If you do not like the thread do not read it. There are no COC violations here, but I can lead you to some if you like.

krickitt-I am not telling you what to put in your threads. But if you put something in your threads, in this case affirmative action and job discrimination, you better be prepared to discuss it.

Obama on Immigration: We Need Not Have "Amnesia About How We Populated This Country"
Clearly he has amnesia. The US and Canada were not populated with founders, pioneers and immigrants from third world countries, like Mexico.

True AZ story. All my boys played ball, always made All Stars. For 10 years I had one or more boys in All Stars. We lived in a very small town in southern AZ. For all stars we had to play other towns in our area, and travel. Every single year either Douglas or Nogales won the tournament. Problem was-- both of those towns are on the border, with sister cities in Mexico. Lots of daily back and forth. By the time the kids were 11 or so, the boys on the border town teams-- 100% Hispanic, usually no English except for one of the coaches, had mustaches, long sideburns, girlfriends in the stands-- well developed girlfriends.... It was absurd!! Our boys were shrimps compared to theirs, and no matter how good they were it was like MS playing HS. It was no secret they were using false BCs, but, being kid ball-- what was anyone going to do? It was ridiculous. Lots of nonsense going on in southern AZ, including kids being driven from the Mexico side to the border, then picked up AT the border by OUR school buses and taken to OUR schools. Just read this post. Man that must have been sickening! Hope it was baseball. Can't imagine letting my 11 year old into a contact sport with mustached children.

Yeah, baseball, and yeah, it was disgusting. Little boys playing young men. The Douglas team was very well mannered and had a long time great sport coach. The Nogales team was dog mean, always. Once a Nogales Mom pulled a knife on me at Ft. Huachuca military base because coach saved my son (best pitcher) for a few games so he would qualify for a full game against Nogales and beat them for once. We did. They were ANGRY at being beat. Lost the tournament any way-- not enough good pitchers to play 3 games in a row because of inning limits per week.. Pulled a knife on me and another lady in the bathroom, our team got a military escort off the base. Nasty people. Every year all the teams knew it would be either Douglas or Nogales and coaches always tried to set their games up so Douglas would win in the end, because they were polite... even though the kids had fake BCs. Kid sports in southern AZ that have to play border towns have little chance of winning.

Immigration 2 Border Patrol Agents Killed in Arizona Crash Published May 12, 2011 | Associated Press DEVELOPING: GILA BEND, Ariz. -- Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has confirmed that two U.S. Border Patrol agents have died in crash involving an SUV and a freight train in southwest Arizona. Arpaio tells The Associated Press the FBI will be taking over the investigation. Border Patrol Agent Michael Espinoza tells the AP the agents were assigned to the Yuma sector. Authorities have not said what led to Thursday's crash but the Border Patrol was investigating. Television video shows a lengthy freight train with what appears to be a mangled vehicle in front of the train's engine. Tarps were placed over some of the wreckage. The crash occurred near Interstate 8 several miles west of Gila Bend and just over 100 miles east of Yuma. The Fox News story says the authorities have not said what led to the crash, krickitt. There's nothing said about the agents chasing illegals. That might be assumed, but it's certainly not been verified. I'm just sorry for their families and friends.

Sad case, Krickitt. I hope they catch them and charge them with murder.

GEEZ-- breaking news... 2 Border Patrol agents chasing illegals hit by train and killed. You may want to revise this statement until you have all the information. Your link does not state the two border patrol agents were killed while chasing illegals.

I just heard it on the radio (Fox) that they were assisting other agents pursuing a group of suspected illegals.

I agree that sanctuary cities need to be stopped. These people are here illegally and that needs to be dealt with. As long as they can find places to go that will provide them with jobs at low wages instead of hiring local citizens, the illegals will continue to flow into this country. Something needs to be done in their own country, as well, so that they might find work there instead of coming here.

If the two agents killed were assisting other agents persuing a group of "suspected" illegals, who is to blame? The "suspected" illegals or the two men killed who failed to look both ways before crossing a railroad track?

Yes, MDW, lots of actions TRYING to be taken-- all shot down one by one. Gov. Brewer gets in small ones, but all the big things, all over the country, are being put down. No matter how they are worded.
They still haven't caught the illegal that shot our rancher last year, or the ones that shot the guy off his jet ski... They hardly ever catch these people after they get away. They are invisible.

I thought the jet ski guy was on the Mexico side of the border? I know it's hard to have a solid boundary through a body of water, but still.

THX, Marsha. I was not about to alter my post while I waited for a current word to say the truth when I already know the truth. Nor should you need to. Fox News is a perfectly valid news source and their report was developing. You reacted to the bad news and put it out there for further clarification as details became available. Good heavens.
