andi9899 Thank you for telling me to get a new agent. Called the credit union. Talked to an agent. Went over coverages and she is getting quote together. How hard is it to take a phone call. She said this can all be in place by the time mortgage company pays if she finds something more to my liking. Even if I stay with the same company (the credit does sell the same insurance), I am going to have her be my agent. This is ridiculous that no one even will talk to me from that agency. Just put me on a list to call when she gets to it.

Oh dear. The conspiracy theory people are already at it on why the Francis Scott Key bridge was the one that went down. I can't even... I was kind of blaming myself, since I booked a cruise out of Baltimore Harbor just last week. Kind of like how Russia invaded Ukraine right after I booked a trip to Poland. NIL would love to take J to see the land where she grew up. Who knows when that will be safe? Odesa is being bombed daily at present.

Talked to deck guy and he can't start the wash and stain process until next Tuesday as his current job keeps expanding the contract (oh, that looks so good, just do this and that and the other). Which is okay because our landscaper is doing the flagstone and beds Monday. That leaves me free until Tuesday to do other stuff like clean deck furniture and hit that garage cabinet. This afternoon DH cleaned out and reorganized the garage closet which was a great move. After the deck and yard are done, I'll get the potted plants out of the shop and he'll hit that up for decluttering. Who knows, I might even go plant shopping Friday or Saturday to fill in the bed where so much died off.

If your near neighbor decides to install an in-ground pool, I suggest a really long vacay or sell your house. I thought the worst was over after days of traffic congestion with excavators and trucks to dig the hole. I was wrong. Then I thought the worst was over after days of traffic congestion with trucks, truck-mounted generator, and gunite spraying. I was wrong. Today the "surface finishing" guys arrived which meant a huge truck, with a generator, to spend 4 noisy hours spraying the most foul-smelling substance known to mankind.
Guys, I am renowned for my olfactory tolerance which has served me well in caring for humans and animals. I'm your go-to for organic waste clean-up (human, canine, feline, equine), solid with anal gland expression and boil lancing on animals. I even know the police trick of Vick's on your upper lip to block smells. But that pool finishing stuff was truly awful. We had the windows closed and the HVAC off, but it still seeped in. It was a cross between diesel fumes and organic decomposition which meant I was struggling to breathe and struggling not to heave.

I know I should keep politics out of here. Trump is selling bibles. I do believe I have seen everything now. And I also learned google tells me 63% of the folks in the US are Christians. I'm surprised that number is that high. I read too fast as I scrolled. My brain saw babies, not bibles.

Because DD2 is planning on having an inground pool installed at her new house (they're going to be moving in a few weeks). Pool probably won't be put in for a year, or two, I would guess.

I'd be willing to bet that number includes all those folks that don't go except Easter and Christmas, if even that. plus lapsed <whatever flavor> and all those Roman Catholics the highly evangelical love to hate on. Is it weird that I represent all of that. I'm Catholic and only go to church for weddings and funerals. I don't go for Christmas or East. No? I suppose I'm Christian. I'm agnostic, but do lean in a bit when I find comfort in it. We haven't gone to mass for Christmas or Easter in ages. I sit through mass on the first day of school. If the kids' elementary school wasn't failing, I'd send the missy to the public school. I guess I've finally waken up to see how much of Catholicism is dictated by (old) men. I don't think it's really about striving to live a Christ-like life anymore. It probably never has been about living a Christ-like life. I'm just very slow.

There was a fight at my job earlier this week, on another shift. This is the story I was told…. A young man and his girlfriend both work there. The girlfriend has been cheating with an older guy that works there. The young man went and confronted the older guy, and they got into a fight. The older guy beat the brakes off the young man. The young man said he was going to get his gun. Both men got walked out.
I really hope the young man knows the older guy is not at work, so he doesn’t come back with his gun looking for him. Our building is not nearly as secure as it is supposed to be, the gates and turnstiles don’t work, so they are just left open. But even if all of those worked properly, anybody that has worked there for any length of time knows there are also other ways to get inside without using a badge.

On my way home from work, I heard a commercial on the radio from some company saying they will pay 100% of the fair market value for your house, and rent it to you. They hyped it up, saying how you avoid packing up and moving, you can still live in the house that you love.
Now, I’ve never claimed to be the smartest person ever, so I need you all to explain to me why somebody would do that. My understanding of renting is that rent is usually more than a mortgage payment would be on the same property. I can’t make it make sense.

I took some of the brisket and sides I bought yesterday, for my lunch today, and o.m.g. it was sooooo good. I wanted more! I have been thinking about the little bit we still had left at home, ALL DAY. I usually just get a bbq sandwich from there because I don’t like their ribs. They are huge, like dinosaur bones lol. Their pulled pork sandwiches are good, but forget that, my new favorite is their brisket, collard greens and Mac and cheese.
I don’t know if I’ve already said it here, but my appetite has come back over the last few months. With a vengeance. But even though I’ve been eating more, I still haven’t gained back all the weight I lost early last year. Which is good, because the weight was all around my middle, and was not a good look. My stomach is still bigger than I’d like, because it had always been fairly flat before I gained all that weight, but at least I don’t have the whole spare tire anymore.

If I end up getting sent to the chair (or needle) that would be my last meal request except maybe pulled pork instead of brisket. And cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert of course

Hmph. Legoland a little too far to justify a single day out and back. Could maybe do Disney but I am unexcited about spending $600+ for three people for the privilege of standing in line all day. Any thoughts? Reluctant to do Universal.

I have been concerned for a while now, about our building not being secure. I think I am going to talk to my union President about who I need to complain to about it, outside of my building. The gate at the entrance to our employee parking lot does not work, so it’s just left open. Thieves regularly break into and steal cars off the parking lot. Sometimes they break into and steal several cars in one night. To add insult to injury, the employee parking lot at the other end of the building, where the gate does work…. A few months ago, they decided that only managers and the people that work in the offices could park in that parking lot. Us peons all have to park on the other, unsecured parking lot. There are way more of us than them, so that big parking lot is now not even 1/4 full in the daytime, only a few cars in the evening and on the night shift. If someone comes into the building and is up to no good, we are the ones at risk. The offices are upstairs, and you do need a badge that gives you access to the elevator and doors to get upstairs. All of that security works. I apologize for going off on a tangent, but that really upsets my nerves, because to me, the message couldn’t be any clearer regarding what they think of us and our safety.

Just give me the dates and I'll be there! Yay! I'll cook this time instead of making chiver do it all. My fat butt will sit there and happily eat it all.

I started the garage clean up. I didn't get very far but I only saw 1 mouse which I'll take as a win. I'm still super skittish though.
Got through the easiest of the yard clean up which is good.

There was a time in our past when the term "workplace violence" didn't exist. And now it does so that is a very valid conversation to have with your union president. It could be a disgruntled former employee, it could be the unhappy wife who found out about her husband's affair. No matter what, you all deserve protection from the crazy.

Don't know why it took me so long but I have discovered men's small suit shirts. I bought a small for a project I wanted to do because I like the pink color of it. It is way more flattering to my figure and I prefer the length compared to even a women's large. It's also made better and it's actual freaking cotton instead of whatever women's blouses are made of nowadays. WHY did it take me so long to have this epiphany?! I need to troll the men's side of the thrift store more often and look into how much American Eagle is retail. I have been buying from the men’s side of the aisle for decades. I had the epiphany when I saw a table of cashmere sweaters at Dillards in Easter egg colors dirt cheap. I bought 4 of them and it was less than $100. I wore them for 20 years! Since then, I alway do a drive thru in the men’s department. Also, don’t forget men’s shoes. Comparable sizes are 1-1.5 smaller than woman’s. I scored a pair of RL leather loafers at about 90% off. Men’s shoes tend to last longer too as they have better support.

I just had another conversation with Mister about Kiddo. Kiddo is still acting up at school. I told Mister again, that he needs to consider seeking custody of Kiddo, because he’s going to end up with him later anyway. Mister said that even OD has told him that.
It doesn’t sit well with Mister, because Kiddo’s Mom doesn’t even work, and lives down the street from Kiddo’s school, for him to have to leave work and drive across the city to go to Kiddo’s school to address problems. I told him I really do understand that, but he can either pay now, or pay a lot more later, because what they’ve been doing, very clearly isn’t working and I am willing to bet money that Kiddo’s Mom is going to eventually want to send him to Mister anyway, because I believe Kiddo’s behavior is only going to continue to get worse, instead of better, if something doesn’t change asap.
Mister said something about how he has to be at work so much earlier than Kiddo has to be at school. I said that since my work hours have changed, I can take him to school on my way to work. On my days off work, if they have a before school program like many elementary schools have, Mister can drop him off on his way to work. Mister is the boss, he sets his own schedule, so he can go in a little later on my off days.
My point is that we can work it out, and I am willing to do my part. I told Mister he might as well get over what Kiddo’s Mom should be doing and all of that, and figure out what HE is going to do to get HIS son together. He wasn’t really thrilled with what I was saying, and wanted me to stop talking, but one thing about me is that if I even just call myself your friend, imma always tell you what I believe is the truth. To me, people that genuinely care about each other, are honest with each other. I might roll with you on some bullshit, since I do have 3 or 4 people that I am ride or die for, but you’re gonna hear my mouth about it, because I’m gon tell you, you know this is some GOTDAMN bullshit, right?!

Yes, Mister needs to focus on what would benefit Kiddo, and not on what Kiddo's mother is up to.

SeaWorld does have a whole kids area. Not remembering the son's age to know if that's a great fit. I'm thinking he's definitely not old enough for Universal.
Disney single day gate price is insanity. You do Genie and avoid some lines but that takes some effort and knowing how to stack and play the game.
If you do SeaWorld take jackets for the penguin area. It's amazing but freezing. More so when it's a feels like of 110 in August.

Trying to make an appointment to see if surgery will fix my eyesight. I'm spending $1,000 a year on special light weight lenses and contacts. If it can get close enough that I can at least go straight contacts I'd be happy. Super bad astigmatism here (in both eyes). I had surgery to replace my lenses in my eye. One eye at a time, it was about $5k for both eyes, but for the first time since I was 8, I no longer need glasses or contacts. I was told that they can correct 2/3 issues. If you are nearsighted plus astigmatism, it can be corrected. If you have age related far sightedness, you’ll still need readers. My contacts were set such that one eye reads distance, the other close up so I need nothing. The one thing Covid was good for as I had to wear glasses 6 weeks so they could correct my eyes. Since I wasn’t going anywhere or doing anything, it was still painful to wear my coke bottle glasses but it would have been worse at other times.
