Clinton was impeached for lying about a consensual sexual affair; result Republicans looked ridiculous The other will be impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress: result exposing the utter corruption of the Republican partActually Hillary was the one that looked ridiculous .......... She 'forgave' him in public but I bet there was he** to pay in private.Utter corruption of politics .......... not just republicans ........... And if you think anything different ............... no one is blinder than those who will not see Are you going to admit that Melania looked ridiculous for doing the same thing? Are you going to admit that Melania looked ridiculous for doing the same thing? Why she probably joined in I see you’ve just given the First Lady of the United States the respect you believe she deserves. Nice.

Oooooops! I just heard a guest on FAUX say that she wished the Congressional hearings had been “ more bipartisan”. I guess she forgot to watch.😎

It is of course completely absent in the Party of Trump, but I did not realize it extended to all conservatives. I guess we do in fact learn something new every day.

It's only behavior the left doesn't like. Maybe three steps ahead, if you consider how he lives in most of the heads across the aisle. My reference to hysteria was your..... "And fuck the next election!". ymam.proboards.com/post/3071204Yeah, I get it. I do think that you, personally not the generic you, are capable of viewing this as more than the immediate but I have been wrong about people before. Oh well. Might be one of your many shortcomings.

The Senate will decide if to remove him or not. They will also control the proceedings. They will also adjust the rules of the proceedings as they see fit. Including who will be allowed to testify. These aren't powers of a common jury To the dismay of never Trumpers everywhere, they will talk about this ahead of time. I remember how the Democrat Claire McCaskill lost her Senate seat because of the Supreme court vote 2 years ago. Her polls flipped right after the vote. Democrats need to think ahead of time on that also, with this impeachment vote. A number of seats can go either way in the house this next election. Maybe some believe that standing up to abuse of power is a worthy reason to lose their seat. The thing is, they can lose their seat, and then it goes nowhere in the Senate. Not exactly the behavior of a person you would want making decisions for you, if they can't see past the immediate.

As with every other effort by the Democratic Party to undo the election, they will lose at this one too. sorry, but I am not following your logic here.
when the GOP impeached Clinton for arguably personal and political reasons, what happened in 2000?
1) they won the WH 2) they lost several seats in the Senate, but maintained the House.
it is unclear to me WHY the GOP now thinks that the "conventional wisdom" is that impeachment is bad.
it seems to have worked well for them in 2000, when the hated Bill Clinton was in the WH. why would it not work well for Democrats in 2020, when the hated Donald Trump is in the WH?
I was referring to the obsession of getting Trump by the far left, since his election. The never trumpers. In regards to the impeachment, I say go for it if they think it works for them.

Then why did Monica testify? She was a white house employee. Did clinton tell her not too No. He didn't commit the crime of obstruction of justice.

Did McConnell took the oath to become a senator? Yes he did. McConnell cannot be a senate jury member and a member of the defense team at the same time. He's not a member of the defense team. He said he is working with the president. You can't do that as a juror.

Not exactly the behavior of a person you would want making decisions for you, if they can't see past the immediate. My very conservative Representative voted to void President Trump's emergency declaration to fund his wall because she saw past the immediate of Trump/wall to the Constitutional ramifications. I was proud in that moment to have her represent me.

It wasnt' "can't" as he is not able to do it, it's "can't" as is "you stupid fuck what the fuck are you doing?" He can say whatever he wants, but just because one can do something doesn't mean they should. He should at least pretend to uphold the oath he took to the constitution instead of firmly affixing his lips to Trumps ass in public.

I want someone making decisions for me who has the integrity to put the country and the Constitution ahead of their political futures. I wan't someone making decisions for me who isn't myopically focused on the short term. That eliminates the current GOP

Well, hate to say it, but the video is out there where he discusses this very issue, where the democrats in the Senate are fine working with Bill Clinton on the Senate vote to convict or dismiss the charges. Maybe you are too young to remember

Over three days, February 1–3, House managers took videotaped closed-door depositions from Monica Lewinsky, Clinton's friend Vernon Jordan, and White House aide Sidney Blumenthal. On February 4, however, the Senate voted 70–30 that excerpting these videotapes would suffice as testimony, rather than calling live witnesses to appear at trial. The videos were played in the Senate on February 6, ... link I would have no problem with taped testimony from Bolton, Pompeo, Mulvaney, and Giuliani being used.

Might want to tune in to Fox News cable and see it on about every show today. He also said Congress should be working on reigning in hmo's and improving public school education, rather then Impeachment. We all know how well that has worked out.

IM(not so)HO it is a sad state of affairs that the question of impeachment and removal of the President is something that would be determined by general public sentiment rather than intelligent analysis and application of constitutional principles.

And full under oath testimony from all with specific knowledge of the case instead of POTUS witness obstructing.

And full under oath testimony from all with specific knowledge of the case instead of POTUS witness obstructing. And if there has to be polling, the first question should be, "Did you watch the testimony?" and if the answer is "No", then that should be the last question.
