Yeah, buddy! He'd looked really good at his press conference yesterday when ask a question about Biden: ARE YOU TALKING TO ME? He really showed those mouthy Democrats. Sorry, I have trouble operating at this level. Did you see that recent picture of AOC giving the OK sign ? Did you see that recent picture of AOC giving the OK sign ?
Oh NO!!!! So where is the outrage over this, on this board,
Why a couple days ago, if you gave the OK sign you were a racist white nationalist!!!! Oh that's right,, it only works one way here!!

Again. You don't understand context. Most of us do. Yes, the OK sign can be used as a hate symbol. No, we don't need to stop using it altogether.

The link is above to the discussion of this issue. There are many issues to be discussed, when a party is having problems with the candidates they choose to run. Some would call it a 'suicide watch', when the same candidates win elections, and then use white supremacy hand signs. As AOC was recorded doing.

here is trump using the OK white supremacy sign, just like AOC was recorded doing. Why Did Trump Make the ‘OK’ Sign While Talking about AOC? While referring to New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a speech on Tuesday, President Trump flashed a distinctive hand gesture. Here’s a video, captured and shared on Twitter by Vox reporter Aaron Rupar (video in link). So when does it mean what? As the Anti-Defamation League writes in an explainer, “The overwhelming usage of the ‘OK’ hand gesture today is still its traditional purpose as a gesture signifying assent or approval. As a result, someone who uses the symbol cannot be assumed to be using the symbol in either a trolling or, especially, white supremacist context unless other contextual evidence exists to support the contention.” So let’s evaluate the context here, shall we? First, the location: Trump made the gesture while addressing throngs of cheering, MAGA-cap wearing teens at the Turning Point USA’s Teen Student Action Summit 2019 at downtown Washington, D.C. Marriott. Two months ago, the leader of Turning Point USA’s chapter at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas was filmed flashing the same hand gesture, while saying “White Power.” (Turning Point USA severed ties with the student after the video went viral, saying it has “a zero-tolerance policy for hate.”) At the start of his speech, Trump gave a shout out to Turning Point’s founder, Charlie Kirk, who has been photographed flashing the gesture alongside a Trump poster. Complete article here: Why Did Trump Make the ‘OK’ Sign While Talking about AOC?

It's a symbol that has become associated with white supremacy/ nazi rhetoric and you don't get why it's now considered hate speech? Why am I totally unsurprised??

There is a good discussion on that thread which has such comments in full context.

Those do look like seriously short fingers. If he had ever actually worked in his life I'd wonder if it was maybe a power tool accident or something.

The to the common usage of that sign, I don't really see it catching on as a white power signal.

I'm talking about how the GOP politicians at the time tried to spin it, all of them getting the vapors about Clinton defiling the office of president. Including Newt Gingrich, the guy who told his second wife he wanted a divorce as she lay in her hospital room after cancer surgery.
If you were alive then, you would remember the non stop condemnation from the right, - unless you no longer care to admit how important being a fine Christian human being used to be to the GOP, now that our current GOP president in the very opposite of a fine Christian human being.
I was never a Christian. That approach is kind of lost on me. The GOP is morphing. No longer southern gentlemen quickly resigning at the hint of scandal. Those days are gone, I'm 63 by the way. Now it's a mouthy New Yorker, giving as good as he gets. Frustrates the hell out of the left, as he reads directly out of their political playbook. I'm wondering what alleged mouthy "New Yorkers'" you are thinking about. When I think of New Yorkers, Trump is not an example of what I'd use. They can be rude, but more likely abrupt and quick. They wouldn't waste their time going on and on about perceived slights or spending copious amounts of time throwing shade. Chris Christie was known for his in your face politics, but he wasn't a whiner and massive shade thrower either. Lastly, I totally disagree with your ending assessment. If Trump really did read from the left's playbook, both the left and right would have found him easy to counter. The reality is, he is doing something unique.

With those fingers I understand his dislike of music. He couldn't stretch on a keyboard, wrap around a guitar neck, or maybe even finger a note on a ukulele. #Pathetic. Might be able to bang a drum, but you can tell he's got no sense of rhythm and can't stick with the same tune. At least he'd be sitting down though rather than clumsily lumbering around, so there is that.

Here I was wallowing in the heavy discussion of short fingers, etc. Then you have to come up with intelligence. Having a hard time shifting gears over here. I used to try to have actual discussions on politics here, kind of gave up on it. The 'playbook' statement in no way reflects on anything more than an orange skin or short finger approach. I agree with what you say as what he is doing is non standard for US politics. Whether it's going to work or not will be found out at the next election.

When it comes to lying politicians, I find little difference between the smooth polished, well presented lie, vs the more direct approach.

Yeah, Most politicians stretch the truth or present only one side. Unlike the stable genius reality show host who blatantly lies even though his lies are exposed continuously. He IS keeping the fact checkers busy.
His supporters don't care - they equate stretching the truth with blatant, easily exposed outright lies.

Bill Barr is taking secret unannounced trips around the world- most notably to Italy where it is reported he told no one he was coming ostensibly for the purpose of reviewing the recorded deposition of deep state operative Professor Joseph Mifsud who was involved in the frame job on Carter Page. The CIA / Bezos outlet WaPo is very concerned about this development saying it suggests "conspiratorial focus" - linkBy the way- if you come across one of those annoying paywalls, you can use several means to circumvent them. Firefox has the best- but Firefox is, in my opinion, itself a virus-- so, I don't use it. I use Chrome-- and Outline-- so, basically copy the link type outline.com/ and then the full link. A few sites are on to it-- but it still works for WaPo. Getting around paywalls is like minimizing taxes or speeding- it not only doesn't bother me, I feel almost morally obligated to do it.

You do like your manipulative techniques! Using "Bill" instead of "William" to suggest a deeper level of intimate knowledge.

Unannounced? That's weird since I read about it when he went & why he was going & I just shrugged it off to chasing more conspiracy theories!...which is exactly what he was/is doing AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE!...but at least he isn't playing golf!
