Here we shall watch with wonder as a once influential national political party, consumed with rage and hate, destroy themselves. I hereby declare with ontological certitude that impeachment is a hoax and will go nowhere and that Democrats will pay a very steep political price for this, their final stunt as a major political party with national influence. The Democratic Party is over. It no longer exists. We're just waiting for the end of the death throes. I think you mean consumed with mirth! I am laughing my ass off here.

Now that the Democratic Party is over, and the Republican Party has been overtaken by the raging lunatics, what is left? Why, the Rent is Too Damn High party, that's who! Oh wait, President Warren will address their concerns. Plenty of nice rent controlled apartments in the former Trump Tower. With golden commodes no less! And Trump himself will be living rent free in a 64 sf ascetic abode on an island. Heh, heh. Guantanamo had never had such an infamous resident up to then.

... impeachment is a hoax and will go nowhere ... Hey Paul, seeking some clarification on this. Are you meaning that: 1) there will be no inquiry (which seems to be happening now so can't see this being it) 2) that the inquiry will not lead to the drafting of Articles of Impeachment 3) that there will be no committee vote on such Articles 4) The Articles will be voted down 5) There will be no vote by the full House 6) The full House will not pass any Articles of Impeachment 7) The Senate will ignore the Articles and not hold a trial 8) The Senate will not vote to remove President Trump? Just struggling with "impeachment" = "hoax". Help me out here. So far, there’s no legitimate impeachment inquiry. When I say it’s going nowhere, I mean just that. There’s never gonna be legitimate inquiry so nothing that follows matters.

then you can't blame Democrats for following through with what they feel is a legitimate case.
BTW- i just read through the articles of impeachment, and i see four counts, two are perjury, one obstruction of justice, and the other witness tampering. i see no reason to expect that Trump will get off for any less.
if you do, then you think he is far more virtuous than i do. which i can readily imagine. but only because i know you fairly well.

What happened to the republican party? They are so far right they can hardly stand. They used to be the party of family values, they actually had some decent men and women that were republicans. Now they kowtow to trump and mcconnell, they no lower represent the conservative republicans but the fanatics. When are they going to pull it back together instead of continuing to destroy and destroy everything they touch. There have been almost 250 bills passed in the house and mcconnell won't even let them come up. They have totally quit governing, their only function seems to be approving judges, nothing more. Of course that will hurt America for decades. What a sad travesty of the republican party, former leaders must be turning over in their graves.

how did you feel about the Clinton impeachment, Paul? I feel the same way about it now- he was affirmed by a special counsel to have committed 11 felonies and he should have been removed from office. Each offense had a violation of a cited statute attached to it. There isn't one single crime alleged against Trump-- not one. There has never been one mentioned. Just blather. With Hillary- again, multiple crimes-- several of which she confessed to just as Joe Biden did. But I digress-- had the GOP done their duty and removed President Clinton from office, we would not be here today. This is the culmination of years of a criminal cabal operating within our government without a accountability. Need I remind you why Trump got elected (and what's coming)? www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2019/09/27/the-speech-that-got-trump-elected/Nothing can stop what's coming. The trapped animal deep state can yell and scream all they want- the trap was set and it has been sprung. Please be so kind to allow us to revisit the over 20 year old Clinton proceedings by listing the 11 discovered felonies. I was working hard back then and raising daughters and only caught the part about lying to protect his family from his sex addiction. TYIA

Please be so kind as to allow us a more thorough examination of the Clinton proceedings of over 20 years ago. I was working very hard on commission and raising two Dubettes and only caught the part about lying to prevent embarrassment to his family over his sex addiction. So please list the 11 felonies, who the special prosecutor was that ferreted them out, and why the Repo-Cons decided to let him skate after wasting $58 million taxpayer dollars. TYIA i am not seeing 11 felonies in the articles of impeachment, again. I see four. none include anything more serious than obstruction. and yeah, that is serious. and Trump is very likely to be charged with that, as well. and for good reason.
this is not an attempt to hide up consensual nookie. it is an attempt to cover up huge graft and campaign fraud, and an undermining our elections. so, yeah, that is far more serious. it is more serious than Nixon. it might be the most serious set of charges a president of the US has ever faced.

Remember how all the GOPers back in the Clinton years were whining about how character matters, and how could we tolerate a married president fooling around with an intern in the Oval office - it didn't matter if it was illegal, it was a disgrace to the office, anti-American, anti-Christian, yadda yadda yadda.
Suddenly, character no longer matters. As long as the president says the right code words to his dwindling faithful, he could have sex with 12 year olds in a parking lot and be excused, because he's apparently fighting this mythical 'deep state' cabal.

yeah, I noticed. and what I concluded is that stuff never mattered. it was just a way to cynically garner votes.

And they didn't find those felonies until they did an investigation, which is the stage we are in now with Trump. (Actually, didn't the felonies actually happen during the investigation? As he was testifying he was lying to Congress? I can't remember, and even back then, I didn't fully educate myself.)

yes, the felonies happened DURING the investigation. much like the Mueller investigation. it is weird how the GOP forgets stuff like that, isn't it?

I was never a Christian. That approach is kind of lost on me. The GOP is morphing. No longer southern gentlemen quickly resigning at the hint of scandal. Those days are gone, I'm 63 by the way. Now it's a mouthy New Yorker, giving as good as he gets. Frustrates the hell out of the left, as he reads directly out of their political playbook.
