I have a fence for legal and safety reasons. I have a pool, so my fence keeps toddlers from walking up the street and falling in my pool. Not sure how often that happens, but I follow the law. LOL! It also helps protect you when the local teens decide to jump the fence and skinny dip in the middle of the night (or on the weekend when you are away) and one them hits their head hard enough to cause death or a serious spinal injury OR maybe they are so drunk/high they don't notice when one of them drowns. This is a somewhat common unfortunate cause of injury/death for tweens/teens in my area of suburbia (it's right up there with train deaths) in that no one really talks about them. I'm pretty sure following all the laws/regulations help when it's someone else's kid who dies in the pool (or later at home or hospital). So, it's not just toddlers that fence is protecting (it's protecting you from the very bad judgement of teens/tweens and sometimes adults). (some teenager/tween dies/is seriously injured in one of the many local outdoor community pools after hours every 10 years or so... they break in at night - they climb the fence and find themselves on the journey to the Undiscovered Country. )

After we start confiscating money going between two family members, we will be glad we have the wall to keep people from walking the cash over the border.
It didn't take long before that wall has a purpose of keeping us in.
Freedom my ass.

It doesn't matter what he does it will never be any good for the democrates. I did not vote for Obama and I was very outspoken against the ACA and how it was handled, but as far as bashing him no. The office of the president should be held in high regard no matter who is in office. For the country sake I never wanted him to fail no matter how much I disliked his policies or leadership I agree the office of the president should be held in high regard, which is why it upsets me so much that Trump currently holds that office. Trump brings no dignity or ethics to that office. He treats our enemies as pals and our allies as enemies. His grifting is so blatant it would make a mobster blush. None of that comports with the dignity of the office.
Ask yourself if you can recall another president who bragged about his daughter's bust size or talked about how he'd 'do' her if he wasn't her dad. Or another president who held his campaign rallies in properties that he owned, and then charged back exorbitant costs to his campaign. Or one that golfed so often, always at his own resorts, where he charged back the government for exorbitant costs for the SS to lease rooms and golf carts? Can you name another president who appointed his children and SIL to important government positions, when they had no previous experience for those types of jobs - or any other president who constantly tweeted mean, incorrect, or devise tweets? Or another president who claimed both the media and the DOJ were 'enemies of the people?'
Actually, just list out for me all the names of all of Obama or either Bush's or Clinton's campaign aids who were investigated/indicted/convicted of campaign violations. That's all I'd like to see. Then explain to me why we should hold Trump in high regard, when everything about him is either sleezy, unethical, immoral, or grifty.
And yet none of that which you stated is about running this country. He is doing exactly what he was elected to do.

He did not say they will just cut a check. We may have to put up the money and get it from Mexico on the back end

Yeah, I think we might. I think that's the only way we'll get it.

Like Trump said it the ones inside you want to keep safe.

Because you make it sound like the only people we have to fear are the ones coming over the border.

Although I am not sure how good of a fence Nancy and Chuck voted to be built, the fact is we have hundreds of miles of ineffective fencing that would not stop a toddler from getting through on their own. She’s got a great fence around her home. Nancy Pelosi's home in San Francisco, California. No, Nancy Pelosi's home doesn't sit behind a high wall

She’s got a great fence around her home. VB along with many others - I am not sure what your point is: The fence needs to be reinforced? The fence needs to be reinforced and extended. The fence needs to be re-engineered? The fence needs to be re-engineered and supplemented with security measures and personnel?
Do you think maybe it might be a good idea for congress to hold hearings and define what the options are and how much it will cost and then vote on it? The way congress is currently operating is just nonsensical IMHO.

...And yet none of that which you stated is about running this country. He is doing exactly what he was elected to do. The members of Congress are doing their constitutional job. The President may be doing what the people who elected him want him to do, but it is a stretch of his constitutional responsibilities.

as do I. what's your point? Someone might dig a tunnel under it to smuggle in millions of dollars of drugs or fly over the top of it to get drugs into your house! And people might overstay an invite for a gathering at your house when you let them in through a gate. Oh wait, sorry. There is no logical connection between fences around a residence and the southern border. Prisons have high walls around them yet drugs get into prisons.

Absolutely not, he told them to make sure there is funding for border security they came back with a stupid number. Anything less than 4 bll then the dems actually own this shutdown weather Trump says differently or not.

Maybe you don't know what Russia has been doing in Europe after WW2. Putin owns Trump. Probably about money. He is black mailing him and our country. If you want to keep Putin close you should consider moving to another country.

I would be more apt to believe this wall was more than just a political stunt if he had fought half as hard for it when Republicans had control of Congress.

Anything less than 4 bll then the dems actually own this shutdown weather Trump says differently or not. The Reps have controlled both sides of Congress for the last two years. Why wasn’t this taken care if before now? (I know the answer, but would love to hear yours) PS, the Dems HAVE provided funds for border security. Just not for this wasteful monument to his ego.

The dems are representing the majority of the country that DO NOT want the stupid wall. Trump is stomping his feet and throwing a tantrum because he's not getting what he wants.
Also I think you meant "whether", and Trump said he owned the shut down, in December, on live TV. Just because you say it, doesn't mean its fact.

If you want to keep Putin close you should consider moving to another country. Putin is in his heyday! I imagine he is sitting back enjoying the show. When you have American citizens dissing our allies....and a President of the United States saying he believes him over his own intelligence. He got everything he wanted out of a Trump presidency and more.

A one time payment is not the same as getting it from Mexico "on the back end" From trump;s 2016 campaign site. Scroll down the page for the article: Trump backtracks on claim Mexico will pay for the wall

McConnell won't put any house bills to a vote (which is his job) because he's running interference for Trump. If the Senate sent a bill to Trump he'd have to pass it or veto it. On a veto the Senate could override it.
This is how our government is supposed to work. ednkris, McConnell are you paying attention to the American public?

She’s got a great fence around her home. Do you have any proof of that? Any pics? Nancy Pelosi really-really likes walls…around her mansion. Her home sits atop a twelve-foot-high wall that keeps her well above the riff-raff that are her ultra-wealthy fellow millionaire neighbors. And yet she’s against building walls to keep America safe? Gee, kinda sounds a little hypocritical don’t you think? (picture) Setting aside the disparities between a border wall and a wall around a piece of personal property, there’s a much bigger problem with this meme: this isn’t Pelosi’s house.www.snopes.com/fact-check/is-this-a-wall-around-nancy-pelosis-home/

More than likely, he is going to have our popular Governor (who loves President Trump) running against him in 2020 primary. He KNOWS if he bucks President Trump, he is out! That is why he has been absent.
And that is HOW our government works....not for the people, of the people, by the people. It's what I need to do to get re-elected. Oh, and btw, this is exactly why President Trump is doing what he is doing.
