At the end of the year, we can add up all the tariffs collected and divide by the number of households. That money came from somewhere. If corporations "ate" the tariff, it lowered profits. Profits eventually make it into someone's pocket. Maybe rich people will pay these tariffs. But there will definitely be an "average" that will be easy to calculate.

Bishop won by 2%
edit: congratulations to the GOP for winning this highly contested seat.
on to 2020.
_END_THREAD_
I heard on the radio it wa 3% Now you can end the thread! Bishop, a state senator, narrowly defeated Democrat Dan McCready by fewer than 5,000 votes — 50.7% to 48.7%.
you might want to try another radio station.

Note to posters half way down the article is a link (https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/electoral-college-could-split-evenly-2020-s-good-trump-bad-ncna1036456?icid=related) to an opinion piece. In that opinion piece is an explanation of the process the House would use in the case of the Electoral College not give a candidate the number of votes necessary for election. The fact that the party which had just failed to win a majority of the seats in the House would likely be able to elect their choice as President is reasonably considered as a loss for democracy IM(not so]HO.

not sure how that makes things better for anyone.

not affording it and unwilling to work for it are 2 different items. So yes $3 a day is minor

not affording it and unwilling to work for it are 2 different items. So yes $3 a day is minor to you. yes, we have established that.
edit: I generally object to people saying "unwilling to work". the working poor are....working. and generally doing work that is more difficult (in terms of physical demands) than the 1%. I think the time has passed to disrespect these people, ed. if not for you, then certainly for me.

I want people to take responsibility for their lives and not be dependent on others. Well....it's kinda hard to do with the law signed by a conservative president that has cause health care cost to spiral out of control. But I know, you will ignore that issue and go on with your talking point of "if you like your doctor, you can keep it". If you address the real issue, you would have to admit the system is broken. Even President Trump did during his campaign, he was going to have a beautiful health care plan that covered everybody. Then he realized it was complicated and gave up.

Those people should just get better jobs. Every person should have an above average job, with an above average salary, and above average benefits. And then no one will be poor, or even below average.

No point, was surprised there was another race, plain and simple. If Trump does not influence the NC voters then the democrat in that district should have been able to close the Republican gap. They did not.

They did not. Actually the Republican in the 3rd District special election House race of 2019 got a much lower percentage of the vote than the GOP candidate in the 2018 general election.

ednkris would much rather fellow Americans just die by the thousands every year. It's how he rolls. I want people to take responsibility for their lives and not be dependent on others. too bad. we are all dependent on others.
I depend on my employees for my living. my mother depends on me to help her out around the house. my son depends on me for his college education funds. and you depend on your government to protect you against foreign invasion, to staff the courts, and to pay for interstate highways.
this idea that we are some now autonomous and independent is a complete fraud.

They did not. no. the GOP had a structural advantage. the best you can say is that Trump didn't cause him to lose.

Then only a lefty would confuse the two so, you are against military spending and the death penalty? two totally different things. Love military spending hell give them more, take away from the other useless crap like all the humanitarian aid to other countries. The death penalty should have a speed up process 1 appeal, and should be executed in a year.

so, you are against military spending and the death penalty? two totally different things. not for me. for me they are all "me paying for the government to kill people".
I am suggesting that you might want to refine your point a bit, because it doesn't exclude mine.
