and *he who shall not be named* can't take credit for any of the agreement because he's been nonexistent as far as negotiations go. His weekend was basically like grounding a teenager. He didn't get to have friends over, he didn't get to go to the party, he had to stay in his room & think about it. President Miller runs the White House. Did you see the pictures the WHite HOUse put out this weekend, showing Trump hard at work?
Sitting behind his completely blank desk, phone held to his ear, blank face like he's been put on hold.
Or standing in the hallway shooting the shit with Ivanka and Jared, all smiles.
They're a hoot. I think they just wanted everyone to see he wasn't on the golf course and wasn't wearing his golfing clothes so he could sneak out....

When I saw that picture on the morning news this morning, I could have had the sound on mute. The clean desk top needed no explanation nor was there was there any reason to hear he was supposedly 'working hard.' For all I know trump rang up Miss Cleo on the psychic hotline and she was telling him what to do next based upon her reading of her tarot cards. The white house should never have published that photo. The picture is an embarrassment for the white house.

So I have to admit I don't understand the current negotiations, but from what I understandards---Schumer, Ryan & McConnel all seem to agree on a way forward and seem confident the government won't shutdown......but it seems Pelosi is not on board??
Also last time I thought the 2 sticking points were funding for a wall and fixing the DACA thing. So far I haven't heard how the current bill addresses either of these items, so I am confused on how most of them seem to think everything is relative hunkey-dorey?
Can someone un-confuse me?
Thanks

I think the title of this thread may need to be changed, this could be a loser for the GOP. Seems the wall and the Dreamers are out. The GOP controlled Congress is perfectly happy to spend an additional $300 billion. Business as usual no matter what party is in charge. Some tea party Republicans shredded the measure as a budget-buster. Combined with the party's December tax cut bill, the burst in military and other spending would put the GOP-controlled government on track for the first $1 trillion-plus deficits since President Barack Obama's first term. That's when Congress passed massive stimulus legislation to try to stabilize a down-spiraling economy. www.usnews.com/news/business/articles/2018-02-07/house-and-senate-pursue-spending-deals-as-shutdown-looms

by November, we will probably have the $1T deficit number. it should come out some time in October.
what fun it will be for the GOP to explain that away.

so far no one has un-confused me.
There is no mention of wall and DACA in any of this. Those were sticking points last time. Why not this time?

any president get two shutdowns in 3 weeks before? i think we can hand Trump another trophy for that.

He's probably the only POTUS that had someone from the POTUS own party shut down the government
