I can just imagine what people in the olden days made of the eclipse. Witchcraft! Start rounding up the witches and prepare the pyres. Or "The sun disappeared because of sin! Throw another virgin into the volcano!" I could have sworn that i saw a headline this morning related to a group claiming the cause of the eclipse is due to sin. I didn't read the article, just the impression i had while scrolling headlines. We must be living in the olden days if there are people that still believe this. ? Is the Solar Eclipse a Message From God?

That might have been the article. I didn't bother to waste my time with crackpottery.

If I were God, who loves to give good gifts to His children, I would show them this awesome event. No strings attached. Pure love.

Second hand. Breaking late news from our local zoo. The animals did not react to the eclipse. ------------------- I did not look at the eclipse. I did a painting of a cherry tree holding the moon with the aurora and highlighting a weeping wisteria tree. My eclipse experience took close to 4 hours. Resident art critic liked.

Let me say what an great experience this was!! Central Wyoming, 44 miles southwest of Douglas , in a National Forest. Super clear sky, climbed to the top of a rock formation, had long views of the horizon in most directions! It was incredible!! I was smart, missed the next GREAT, Yes, that was the Great Escape to go back home! The Great American traffic jam! In a couple of hours we had the entire Nation Forest to our selves. Stayed overnight, listened to the coyotes howl!! Best of all the cell phone didn't work!

On the trip up to Wyo, it had been like sixteen years since I was thru that part of Colorado,, How much things have changed.
I was lost from Colorado Springs to almost the Wyo state line. My God it has changed!
On the way back, came down thru Fort Collins, Loveland, Longmont, and Broomfield, stayed over night with friends in Broomfield.
I can not believe how much it has changed,, My wife and I had a great time!
I need to do this more often,
But looking at emails and voice mail, the entire industry has collapsed because I took a couple of days off,,, sigh!

I live in Colorado, and made the drive up to Wheatland Wyoming. I wanted to try for Guernsey, but we didn't leave early enough.
I-25 reminded me of rush-hour traffic in Denver.
The eclipse was just amazing. I wasn't able to get pics of it, but just looking at it with the corona, and seeing the twilight effect all around, was just neat.
Totally worth the eight hours' travel time.

Early on I had posted about watching in Eastern Wyo, I thought there would not be that many people there, Bills pointed out the people from Greeley and Fort Collins would be there, that and half of Colorado! Bills was right!,, I thought that I had made a left turn somewhere, was back in Colorado because 90% of the plates were from Colorado. An ironic note, when we pulled in to our camp site, some people came over asked what part of AZ. we were from,, I said, N.E. Phoenix. They were form Scottsdale, we only live a few miles apart. Small world!

Small world! Want to read maybe an even smaller world? At the time I was living and working in Connecticut. I had flown out to California for work visit and I was having lunch at a small restaurant with a former co-worker of mine who once lived and worked in Connecticut. My friend and I were discussing mutual former co-workers and other people we knew in the Northeast. All of a sudden, a woman eating lunch in an adjoining booth turned around and told us she knew these people too. And she did know them - the woman proceeded to name other folks we knew, names of people my friend and I had not mentioned during lunch.
