It was actually correct as posted. I applaud your Trumpian strategy to weasel out of what would otherwise be an embarrassing situation, sir. I am weaseling out of nothing. It was correct as posted. You may not like it... but it was grammatically correct. I can break down WHY if you don't understand why. ETA: here's an explanation for the last incorrect correction you made on it:

did the GOP do anything RIGHT at the convention, yet? Christie was pretty good tonight. Funny! Tiffany Trump handled herself very well at the podium. Donald Jr was excellent tonight, and he actually is a registered conservative Republican. He did not really do the puff piece on his dad as much as he went after Democrats and Hillary. One of his better lines was, instead of who do you trust to get the call at 3 am, he asked WHO would you rather call at 3 am?Ben Carson acted like he was on speed. Sort of. He actually talked at a normal speech speed tonight! I know for Trumpians, that will be Trump because he's great!, he's told you so. Plus Benghazi!
But for me, I would only want to call Trump if I wanted advice on how to curse out bankers to get a great deal. To deal with sensitive international and national issues? No way. I'd rather call W or even Jeb!

Trees falling in a forest make no noise, breaking the law of physics. You still refuse to ever actually participate in a debate.

Oh, and I'm glad the actress is a former Bold & Beautiful star. She played the psychopathic Shelia Carter. Probably not a link I'd want to put into soap fan or former soap fans minds. But yeah, I could totally see Shelia Carter voting for Trump.

It seems somehow, that was not the speech that was officially written. Even the networks are semi-backtracking the charges now. This could be a new Watergate. And it probably involves Hillary and evasive servers in the RNC office being hacked and the speech replaced for Hillary's benefit Hillarygate has a nice ring to it......

You are going to say Melania was able to correctly read a speech on a teleprompter that wasn't what was planned? I call BS. Doing teleprompter stuff isn't all that easy. She would have rehearsed a lot.
So ... this is the story they came up with after staying up all night?

I applaud your Trumpian strategy to weasel out of what would otherwise be an embarrassing situation, sir. I am weaseling out of nothing. It was correct as posted. You may not like it... but it was grammatically correct. I can break down WHY if you don't understand why. ETA: here's an explanation for the last incorrect correction you made on it: First of all, that's not the only error. Secondly, the rules are different for cases where part of a sentence is parenthetical and when an entire sentence is parenthetical. The rule you're citing is for part of a sentence and hence doesn't apply. Thirdly, the parenthesized content isn't just one sentence. It's two. There isn't an English grammar reference in existence that condones putting the closing parenthesis inside the period of the final sentence if multiple sentences are proscribed. So there you have it. You and Ms. Obama are two peas in a pod.

I just wanna know who add the Rick roll in it. That person is a fucking genius troll. lol

Yes, I would totally rather call Hillary instead of Trump. There are so many people I would rather call than Trump, so I listed a couple selections from the GOP side. I'd rather call Hillary than them as well, but I wouldn't expect them to be totally useless like Trump.

You and Ms. Obama are two peas in a pod. I never said it was the "only error". I said it was the "last incorrect correction" that you made. Which, indeed, it was. The rule I'm citing is the correct rule as the parenthetical content was all about something inside the sentence it was contained within. Whether or not there was more than one full sentence (by virtue of structure) is irrelevant to the rule of " closing punctuation".

CNN and ABC network have made announcements, they are not sure what happened here. They both stated the speech given was not to one that was approved for last night. Now let's put this in perspective. Hillary lied to the press, American citizens, and Congress on the e-mails. She did receive and send secret tagged e-mails. The FBI stated it. She is running for the Presidency. Melania is not running for anything. If you and the media want to hold her responsible for plagarism, you must hold Hillary liable for the greater evil of lieing. If Trump must be defeated for the bad speech, surely Hillary must be defeated for the lies to America.

I don't have to do anything you want me to do, I don't have to think anything you want to me think.
Until I learn something that changes my mind, yes I believe Melania did some serious plagiarism of Michelle's speech. And as you either keep forgetting, or think I am you, I don't care about almost the entire private server crap. If you want to convince me Melania wrote the damn speech fully knowing she plagarised Michelle, please by all means keep talking about unrelated stuff and dead whipped horses concerning Hillary. Just knowing you cannot argue the speech just on its merits alone, tells me more than I need to know.
Never Trump. Never.

Richard....nice try. But I'm afraid that compared to Bush, Obama is a statue on this. It's not like he got the 'why are you holding my hand' look from the most educated first lady ever, or the stink eye 'are you drunk' from his own wife.

DJ: Yes they did. For the third convention is a row there is no W, as they continue to keep him under a rock so as to not remind people of the complete failure we are still suffering from. And it so amuses me that the righties go on and on and on about 4 dead in Benghazi while he gets a pass on 5000 heroes for his 'lied us into war on Iraq' and the $3 trillion that will eventually cost. Jerkwad!

Why couldn't it be Donald Trump himself and/or his campaign manager who ordered his wife's speech be partially plagarized? Who really has the most to gain from this? Donald Trump. Blame one of his political enemies and state "They made my beautiful, innocent wife look like a fool and a thief!" He gets a whole bunch of pity votes.

And Michelle is the first to graduate not only from 1 but 2 Ivies! So what? Plant growth on the walls doesn't guarantee great education... it only guarantees great expense and name recognition. To them, their Ivy League cult is of utmost importance.

Well, what are we debating? Did Melanoma plagiarize parts of her speech? Yes. Yes, she did. Happy? The jury is now out of the room and sequestered, while the liberal networks re-debate this charge. The latest explanation from the Trumponian empire is that they hired two excellent speechwriters to write a very fine speech for Mrs Trump. They proved this by providing a copy of the speech to reporters, who could find no trace of the plagiarized Obama speech.
The Trumponian empire explained that they brought in a very good, dear friend of Mrs Trump, a former ballerina and English major named MacGyver (I shit you not).
Comparing the final speech to the original version, Mrs Trump and MacGyver shredded the professionally written speech and juiced it up with, among other things, some phrases lifted from Mrs Obama's speech.
What it comes down to is that the Trump campaign failed to thoroughly proof Mrs. Trump's speech. Any English teacher can tell you that is relatively easy to type phrases into Google and have it find original source material (if it exists) so a competent campaign person would have figured out the ladies had creatively borrowed a little too much in order to spice up the speech. They would have saved the campaign from a major faux pas in one of the most important speeches of the convention and an issue that has ended up overshadowing the first two days of what is supposed to be a momentum building convention.
This comes down to Trump's philosophy that he does best when he flies by the seat of his pants and acts impulsively. He believes it keeps people off balance which allows him to 'win.' He believes he can do more with a smaller staff than anyone else. Sometimes that bites you in the ass. This is one of them.

My opinion, on the parts of the convention that I've watched, is that it's a bunch of talk about how horrible the country would be should Hillary get elected. Last night, there were changes of "put her in jail."
What I haven't heard much of is what Trumps plans are for the country, other than mushy statements of 'make America great again' or 'get America back on track.'
He's campaigning on scare tactics, that Hillary is far worse than he is. I want to know what makes him better than Hillary. I'm not hearing that.
If he plans to run the presidency by the seat of his pants using his very fine brain and very nice words, that's terrifying.
