I'm glad to hear that we're not the only ones that sleep with our fuzzbutts. Thank God we have a king sized bed because between the cat, the dog and TD and myself, there's not a hell of a lot of room left over!

Yep, my fur baby sleeps with me. Who knew a 14 pound cat could take up so much space.

Nope. I cannot handle that. My daughters and one of my sons lets the dog sleep with them.

Only if they want to. They also have their own room which sometimes they prefer to ours. We joke that when Mattie (who usually likes to sleep with me and keeps me up because she is too warm or I'm afraid of smooshing her) chooses her room to ours because she needs to get her rest from my snoring and moving around. But it's really me that needs the sleep.
Sometimes after DH is up I wake up surrounded by 3 or 4 of them right up against me. DH keeps the a/c really low while getting ready for work and they get chilled. So I start my day in kitty heaven. Over heated but happy.

We have four dogs and a queen-sized bed. We used to just have two dogs - boxers, and they slept with us. It was a little cramped!
Then we got two beagles, and the boxers got kicked out of bed. So it is us and two beagles. But if one of us goes away, it is usually one person and four dogs in the bed!
However, a couple of times a week, we wake up and we've got two beagles and at least one boxer who snuck into the bed in the middle of the night.

Funny thing....the dog only sleeps on the bed if I sleep there. If TD is sleeping there alone (like when I still needed the hospital bed), the dog slept in the bathroom. But if I'm sleeping in the bed alone, both the dog and the cat are jockeying for bed space.

Nope. Our lab gets crazy possesive of the bed (as in growls if we try to get in it with her), so she's been kicked off it permenatly. It's OUR bed, not her bed.
Midnight sometimes sleeps in our room during thunderstorms or fireworks, but on the floor.
Sabah, our Aussie has never desired to sleep on the bed. She slept UNDER it when her ass was small enough to fit under there otherwise she prefers her crate.

The cat will usually at some point during the night. The pup normally starts up there, but doesn't like how I move around too much, so she generally leaves for her own bed 30 min or so in. If I'm not there, she'll sleep with DH....

A cat or two is usually in bed with us and a Labrador sneaks up there on occassion, but that's a bit too tight for our queen-size bed and two adults, so she gets kicked out. But she has a morning routine that she likes. My sweetie gets up earlier than me for work, so the dog goes downstairs with him, gets let out and fed and then toddles back up the stairs to take over his empty side of the bed. She puts her head on his pillow and stretches out blissfully.
She also likes to sleep with Beerwench.

Yes. Our Norwegian Forest cat likes to sleep next to my pillow, and makes no bones about letting me know when it's time to get my butt out of bed so she can have my spot. She jumps up, sticks her cold wet nose in my face and pokes me with her paw. This is a big breed, like a Maine Coon, and when they want your attention, they let you know.

Yep! It was fine with the two dogs (10 pounds and 15 pounds) but since #3 came a few weeks ago (15 pounds) my queen bed is feeling REALLY small

I actually feel a little sad and lonely when Junebug is in sleeping with DD and Larry is in one of the dog beds, and it's just me and C in the bed. I love cuddling with the dogs and it makes me so happy when Larry comes and curls up against my core under the covers. In the summer that's often too warm for him, though, and he prefers a dog bed. I am hoping that come winter he'll be back to cuddling with me most nights. And sometimes when C is still on the computer, June will come lie next to my pillows (or even partially on my pillows) and I can rest my cheek on her Beagle ear, and oh, it's just about the softest thing on the planet.
I should add that I slept with a stuffed animal pretty much every night up until we got our Smokey. Moree wasn't much interested in cuddling or sleeping on the bed (he needed to sleep across the threshold to protect us), but Smokey loved sleeping at our feet and it was shortly after he came home with us that I stopped using the stuffed animal. (While that was shortly after we got married, C and I had been living together for about 3 years at that point, so it wasn't sharing a bed with him the got rid of the teddy bear.)

We used to let Maggie sleep with us, but a queen size bed isn't big enough for two adults and a 70 lb Golden Retriever. And when she'd plop down in the middle, the covers would not cover us.... So we trained her to sleep on her bed next to us. Our other dog never tried (he was already 5 years old when we got him, so had been trained to sleep in his bed).
We still invite Maggie up when we have coffee in bed though.

The cats sleep with us more often than not. Actually, I get worried if Henry isn't in bed with us; I usually wake up in the middle of the night and search for him because I get worried that he's somehow lost in a one-bedroom apartment. When I walk toward the bedroom, Henry runs in and jumps on the bed to wait for me. Katt climbs up in the middle of the night and lays at my feet. Or, on occasion, she will sit by my head and lick my eyelid. That does NOT last long! Weirdo.

I don't have pets, but I don't think I'd like it. In the same room would be fine, as long as they didn't wake me up. I wouldn't want animal hair in my bed.

"(Sigh. Kittensaver crosses Phoenix off her cougar-fantasy boy-toy list should DH ever kick the bucket.)" hahah! Did you really have to read his answer? From reading his posts all this time, I could have told you, he would not be okay with sleeping in the same bed with pets

My cat gets out of bed sometime in middle of the night and starts playing with his toys. His favorite is a stuffed mouse with a bell on the end of his tail and I had to start putting it away before bed. That stupid bell was waking me up at 3AM. I think he plays for about an hour. I typically get up and use the restroom at around 4AM and he comes back to bed with me then.

Our 4 dachshunds all sleep with us (king size bed). Three of them sleep on my wife's side of the bed. The puppy sleeps in the curve of my back. Every now & then early in the morning it lights up enough in there that I can see my wife off in the distance (she has her edge to sleep on & I have my edge to sleep on).

I would like to say no, but they do sometimes. We have king size bed and a futon couch at the foot of the bed. Our beagle sleeps on the futon. We have a 5 month old puppy. She has always slept between us. Nothing like being awakened in the middle of the night with puppy kisses. But she is about 30 lbs now and I told DH it is time to move her to the futon. She is at kennel for the weekend, but when we get back home, after a few days she will have to start moving to futon.

Yes, the 14 lb. poodle sleeps with us. Sometimes, I sleep separate from DH because of some snoring/bipap machine sound issues, but when I sleep with them, the poodle gets offended when I remove her from my side of the king-sized bed. How much space does a little dog need to curl up in ? Quite a bit, it seems.

That's why we have a king-sized bed!
The Nikkster prefers to lay on me. All 15lbs of LOVE.
Goldie Zwei prefers to cuddle up and lean next to me. All I can say is it's darn warm sleeping with two 101 degree hot water bottles.
ETA: Y'all know that cats are not really a solid but a liquid which oozes all over the bed and leaves you about 10" space, right?

Max sleeps with us and that is reason #1 we are getting a King size bed next.
We have a queen now. He makes himself comfortable on the bed and some time takes up 1/2 the bed and my wife and I have to share the other half.
My favorite is when I tell my wife to move in a bit because I have no room or about to fall: oh Max is here or I don't want to wake him up.
Seriously, the dog comfort is more important than mine. Also he sleeps like a human: head on the pillow and body alongside us. He usually sleeps next to my wife but if he is feeling needy he sleeps in between us.

Toy poodle and I share my bed. Recently she does the rounds to check on the girls and sleeps with them for a couple of hours. She also goes to sleep with one of them when I get up to get ready for work and they are still in bed. I got a small poodle specifically because she was small and wouldn't shed. My parents make their shedding machine, I mean dog, stay downstairs in the kitchen when everyone goes to bed. That dog is so social, the whole time he was there he would follow me around and lay at my feet wherever I sat down. I would at least let him have a bed on the floor next to my bed.

One starts out on my chest, then moves elsewhere. Another doesn't start in the bedroom, but eventually makes his way up to someone's head.

No. My current dogs include a nervous pee-er, so she's not allowed up; and if one isn't allowed, then I can't let the other up either. Plus they're each around 55 lbs and would take up too much room. I used to let my last dog get on the bed when she wanted to go out at 6:00 AM and I didn't want to get up yet; if I let her on the bed, she'd happily wait a couple more hours.
Several of my foster dogs have hopped up onto the bed the first night (and been told to get off), so they must be used to sleeping with their people.
