When I used to drop weight quickly, I ate 1 cup of fat free cottage cheese with Spike or a like product on it. Lunch was 1 pack instant or old fashioned oatmeal with protein powder and at least one cup of vegetables. A light afternoon snack and regular meal for dinner. Then I became lactose intolerant. No more FFCC and PP. No more greek yogurt. My new food loves are Silk coconut milk and Pico de Gallo. With limited . And soup several times a week.

When I needed to lose weight quickly, I did Atkin's. It really works because your body goes into ketosis. However, it's not feasible long-term, as it severly restricts carbs. First two weeks is zero carbs, and it's tough to do. Now that I don't eat any meat, it's impossible.

Motivation Level = Medium
did the exercise bike this morning listening to music and was great! However had to do a little convincing to get started. afterwards looked at the scale 253! nice to see even if it's a high 253.7, but still - nice to see that I am going in the correct direction!

Good for you Z. Are you ready for some outdoor spring training of walking with your GF? She will be delighted. ---------- Greek yogurt is like unfrozen ice cream. Did the one you try have fruit? I bought a bag of grapefruit and carton of eggs. I can do that for breakfast but not long term over days like I used to. I didn't think the combination worked for just one meal a day but I did notice a big water reduction today. The scale will tell no lies (unless the settings are knocked off .) And, it's girl scout cookie time. I stashed 3 boxes and don't remember where. DH ate one box of his favorite and a couple lemon cookies. Welz: I do notice weight gain when eating regular bread and not the 45 calorie slices. I can't eat Atkins, either. It's too harsh. ------------

Motivation Level = HIGHfunny! redirecting my sadness towards exercising. had an issue at work and home, which was something I would have easily turned to a person I was so close to and talk about with her. so on the exercise bike this morning I kept looking at the clock which means time was not moving. then maybe 11, 12, or 13 minutes into exercising I started thinking about what would my close friend say to me, or how should I move forward, then how upset that she is not around! then before I knew it - a total of 48 minutes past! so I stopped and was actually laughing at how fast the time did pass and I'm glad I am able to redirect my feelings of missing my best friend. so after a better and bigger sweat, took a shower and scale said 254! nice! no record keeping on this because I was spinning pretty fast and went past my half hour mark and set highest numbers yet. which means that I can do more! which I am aware I can do more and just choose not to. but these numbers would have been proof - HEY I can do more! so now I want to change color coding and add one LOW - MEDIUM - HIGH - PLUS

HELLO Artemis!! sorry I really only love, enjoy, and so happy during the winter season. next season would be Fall I like, then Spring. Summer I can not function! LOL Spring brings on the allergies, bugs, and warmer weather. not that I get sick, BUT if I were to get sick it is during Spring, NEVER had allergies until I hit age 36 or 38? also I did try the outdoor exercise at the very beginning of my bet looking for an exercise routine I am comfortable with. so here ...in this thread without getting too personal - I'll explain it as I was uncomfortable going walking, jogging around the neighborhood. but I did find a routine I am comfortable with - Wonderful!!

so the bet is on and I think well step one is to make sure I can stick with exercising everyday. normally I will exercise for 2 weeks tops before I lose interest or begin to fade off to eventually stop altogether. I keep track of my exercise routine, dates, distance, time, and how many reps. also when I cut down on the amount of food that I eat is a sure fire way for me to lose at least 4, 5, 8 pounds. instead of using a dinner plate I use the plate size down, not sure what that plate is called, salad plate? so instead of having 3 or 4 pork chops (center cut that is) with 2 big spoon fulls of mash potatoes, and big spoon full of veggies. it's now 2 chops max, half spoon of mash and veggie. No I'm not full - BUT better yet I'm not stuffed or still hungry; and I do NOT go back for seconds. left overs will go into the lunch container for me or GF to take for lunch or have a second night. GREAT!! After the first 3 weeks, step one complete. I've exercised 6 days a week. Not too much pain either. Well I did cheat cause I would take 3 Advil before exercising anyway - LOL all the exercise articles I've read provide the same advise 3 times per week for minimum of half hour to do something. Now I'm feeling good that here I am going at it for 6 days per week half hour minimum! My exercise routine starts at 4:45AM!! is when my feet touch the floor. at a time when GF is still in bed and not trying to get out of bed to distract me from exercising. As I set up, stretch it's close to 5AM when I start to 5:30AM I stop covered in sweat and shower and shave and dressed by 6AM, when GF gets up for work. I've never been a morning person. but from history and reading up the morning is the very best time to exercise. my one guy friend told me to map out a 2 mile run; 1 mile out and back. I said ok. I thought I can do that never had a problem walking with my mom or walking with GF in the parks. Walking with them I don't even break a sweat. for the first three days he comes over at basically 5AM to RUN. HOLY SHIT! running is NOT walking - LOL kicked my ass! I couldn't do it. I was ...like shocked...I had to actually stop at times to catch my breath because I pushed to keep running when we would stop running and go into a walk. But I'm easily embarrassed and he is in the reserves so that was fine for him. (well come to find out later he was just hiding it well, cause he was hurting too - LOL). so I would run a little then walk, catch my breath and run again. got back to my place covered in sweat and still in time before GF gets up at 6AM for work. he just wanted to make sure that I did run and get started. that running - hmmm.....doesn't happen too often - it hurts for one thing, and this weight is bouncing around - LOL, ladies now I know how ya feel - LOL then I have to get dressed so early in the morning to come home get undressed shower and dressed again. no that is too much to do in the morning. I like walking at night, and sometimes I'll run and walk. if I walk the full 2 miles it is at a faster pace then walking with mom or GF and I do get a sweat up, it's also still cool at night, and not much traffic going on also, then bonus it's a second exercise of the day. Yea - I'm thinking I can win this bet! first 3 weeks duration July 14 Saturday to August 4, Saturdayhere we are Artemis

OMG 4:45 a.m. The run that you did was good. Anytime you have a new exercise, it takes some working up to. It's too bad someone has to press you to go then makes a person feel bad for not being great at it first time out. Example. My cousin played at the top of men's racquetball doubles. Some idjit decided to test these peeps fitness level and took them on a long canyon hike with no water. The idjit didn't tell them how far they were going nor the terrain. The idjit proved the point to himself and shamed them. The point proved to me is he endangered a lot of peeps on that exercise because they were not fit for that particular sport. The moral of the story is get fit for the sport by working up to it. I did this for archery because I had to go from 3-6 arrows to 60 arrows for league. -------------- I prefer to stay indoors because of the miscreants the state has attracted and the bugs and allergans. But then I don't do the cardio indoors. Choose any excuse and I have used it. The best one - at my age, anything I do is good. ------------- You know the adage - if you are one time, in the correct clothes and have an idea, you are ahead of 95% of the peeps. I wonder how that translates to our exercise efforts?

Artemis: That's not a recent post - it's one he dug up from way back in September of last year (it's one of his earliest posts from page 1). It's over 5 months old and it's referring to his progress during July.

I know it is an old post but adds new information for me on where he came from as I had forgotten. He didn't have to retype his routine. It's where he continues to be.
It's all good. We are all doing something and have goals. I joined Z's personal conversation with himself; and he allowed me in.
I don't have any idea what quarrels have happened on other threads with you, Z and whoever. I just check in to see how the exercise plan is going and provide support.
It's all good here on this thread.

Motivation Level = HIGHMarch 2nd!!! last post - my bad Artemis! well today it's a high - earlier this week or over the missed days was ups and downs! of course. so this timing to update is a good timing? I found the Special K and purchased 2 packs before I fully invest into it and it's feels or tastes the very same as Ensure. However I now see or understand why I missed it the first time when grocery shopping; because there really isn't much of a selection to choose from. But I picked up two flavors and we're good. Still working on the 6 days per week exercising! Had a few bad mornings this week waking up and hitting snooze going back to sleep, waking up with a headache - OUCH! and unfortunately once just plain straight up said no! not this morning and cooked breakfast! LOL - laughing about that now! But my last exercise was great! also went few minutes past 30 minutes! no scale cause I don't feel ....lighter or that I've made an improvement yet, so really no need or curiosity to find out! LOL

I apologize for being in your head unless it's to motivate.
I am surprised at how many working peeps post on the threads. I can burn an hour and it seems like 10 minutes. Now then, translate that to the cardio and we'd have winner. My center doesn't have wifi.
I substituted some lifts with free weights today instead of machines. A little change up before a big cardio weekend. I'll be playing in the snow and praying against freezing rain. ---------- Special K has a lot of good foods. I use their snack bars at 90 calories. A lot of flavors and sometimes I can get 12 for $2 at Big Lots. I see they have a breakfast egg sandwich that looks good at 240 calories. I need turkey sausage, though.
------------Have a great weekend.

Hello Artemis - thanks for stopping by! no apologies needed Hello POM - good to hear from ya! Special K will be the preferred choice for lunch til May 18th. Been drinking that all week. Lifestyle change would be the snack bars you mentioned Artemis - never had one ever. I do see them around the office with other co-workers - I know they are popular doubtful I would like them - but I'm willing to try? but then again I thought I wouldn't like the V8 Splash! turned out we (GF & I) developed a crave for the V8 Splash. then my bet ended and I pretty much stopped purchasing it. so now I'm back on the bet so it's V8 Splash again. YUM

Motivation Level = LOWdang it! yesterday only did 15 minutes of exercise! then ran off to work. this morning was here til like past 3AM - then this morning just ran off to work! how aweful? then last night for dinner I seriously pigged out on Subway!! LOL - I'm still full well lets see what is some good news? I am now drinking an considerably increase in water when in the office! I brought in a big cup from home (a gift from a friend I used to know) and I keep at my desk. it takes 3 cups of the small 10 ounce cups we have in the kitchen and not filled to the brim! so far I have been drinking at least two big cups per day and as much as 3 cups while in the office. before my big cup at most I would have 2 or 3 of the 10 ounce cups of water per day - well most days.

It's been a week since I posted on a board. So much for those chats. Your motivation is probably back to high. My problem is the time change. I went to fast forward speed without accomplishing anything. I finally got to my e-mail and gleaned it down to semi-important items. I did learn a new trick on the scale. I stand on the scale with weight evenly distributed then, and then I put my body weight on my heels. decrease 1 1/2 pounds difference. I have given up on green coffee bean extract, raspberry ketones and garcinia camboga. Being a quitter is not always a bad thing. The rest of everything going on belongs on the . . . for people in a bad mood (or whatever the thread is called. )

Motivation Level = LOWDang - updates! LOL I could have swore or I could swear I've posted twice since last post here? Anyways I've been bad! Friday I was like all emotional and I think the anger is kicking in? left work early cause I really didn't feel like being in the office any more and just left around 2PM. GF already called and we spoke about dinner and she was bringing home her big lunch treated from the company. so on the way home I called Domino's cause I've been craving pizza this week. got a large and ate all but one slice as I cleared out most of my DVR, with two can sodas. at the time didn't feel bad for doing so then I was mean towards GF yesterday. Normally when she gets home I give her kisses, hugs, and attention, but this time I had to push her off me cause I wanted to go to me car and start it. she asked why am I being so mean? I said I just want to do this simple task and start the car and when I return I'll give yo your attention! no problems or issues I was just short towards her and her feelings. but other than that I was kinda happy! settled my crave for pizza, cleared up my DVR, left work early, and got my Car back on the road. Well - I really skipped out on the exercising this week as well. oh! and was really ready to give up and just keep maintaining 250 to 259 range? cause by now I feel I should be in the 240's range and I'm not taking this seriously enough? it's so fuck'n easy to put on the weight! sure I have the constant "do more" thoughts but to take action just ain't kick'n in but the good news is I stepped on the scale this morning thinking the pizza is still in me with the soda! I step out of bed onto the scale thinking 263 or AT LEAST 260 AND nope 252!! Hot Damm! nice! got on the bike feel'n good, shower the sweat and dirt off, back on scale 251! have been drinking the Special K all week with lots more water. rejuvenation!! now thinking don't give up! just meet the date and range so I can maintain a 240 to 249 range! May 18th

I am glad you are back kickin' it! You will make your goal.
Hugs and kisses first. Metal can wait; humans can't.
Yesterday I did my favorite exercise video. I can feel the abs. Today, I went to the fitness center and rode the bike. What a lame calorie burn for 20 minutes compared to the ATM Precor.
Drum roll, please. Here is the excuse. I've had an earache for 2 days and I wanted to read some in my book, which is hard to do on the precor. The earache is from not getting my ear dry and those pesky allergies. A decongestant clears both up.
One more FC check in and I will have my 12.

It's AMT - not ATM.
Adaptive Motion Trainer - Precor is the brand name.

Maybe my AMT will shoot out some cash like the ATM. The machine has arm motion as well as foot motion that can be stepping like stairs all the way to running without the impact. There are several different terrain programs. The resistance settings go up to 22. At a decent rpm, I could get up to 20 calories a minute burn rate. The DVD I use is Bodies in Motion with Gilad. I won't attempt his last name. We have grown gray together. The storm fronts moving through caused problems for me on Monday. I was surprised and thought I was getting a virus so no work out When the wind quit blowing, the symptoms quit. I know a couple of people who were probably in bed because of the pressures. Everyday we are getting better and better in every way.

Good Morning Artemis nice that you spoke of a virus going around cause I am getting sick! not the runny nose, coughing and spread my germs around as I continue to go to work in the office. I have a pressure but I would not really call it a headache? Tuesday I felt horrible and let me tell ya! I got home from work I went straight to bed 7PM and slept until 11PM ate a sandwich with water and back to bed and slept til 2AM - bathroom and back to sleep til 8AM! Sad that winter is over - now Spring is here! GF told me today that I am most likely having an allergy attack. I am pretty sure she is not correct but oh well I took allergy med anyway. don't feel any better so far. exercise? only 15 minutes this morning weight afterwards 252 - thank goodness!! so maybe in April I can get into 240's? can't wait to see 248 or 249!

I'm sorry you are sick. I hope things get better. If not, rest in bed and drink liquids as recommended. I always told my kids when they were little, if they did not feel well they were allowed to go to bed and rest which they usually did. Today, Thursday is my day off from most everything. I do a little house work. I take OTC allergy med every day. Then if I don't eat enough, my sinuses hurt. Weird. Tomorrow is a fresh new day to increase the fitness and health.

I am thankful fitness is not in my job description. The commander of the Air Force Base was relieved of duty for not passing physical fitness requirements because his waist was too big. He passed everything else.
I tried to find the link from the newspaper but couldn't.

At work today I opened my mail after passing out the office mail and received this I guess brochure or catalog? well it's from office chairs company? so as I am flipping through pages I see the desk with a treadmill - it looks stupid but I did get a good laugh. Because I can not imagine being in the office all day which I would have to somehow extend the desk legs to go higher cause I am 6'3' and the desk part looks a bit short for me to write on! then the desk is a little small after I put my phone keyboard and mouse, no room for the monitor. when my boss and 2 other managers walked by my desk I showed them the item and we all laughed. I said hey look at this! we can walk all day, and don't worry about getting to hot and sweat!

Motivation Level = LOWI have been full on water for I think two days now? I feel stuffed!! Ever since I brought in my big cup into work, I am drinking so much more water these past few days. The cup holds 3 ten ounce cups; and just today I had 5!! AND still wanted more! Fridays is no cooking day and we had pizza - me 4 slices and I was still so hungry I could have finished the entire pie! but no - I drank water with it until I felt stuffed and I am! Finally felling full I am glad! I'll step on the scale on Monday after "scheduled" morning exercise. another lame ass 15 minutes of exercise this morning - just enough to start up a sweat! but sadly this was after I unconsciously turned off my alarm. I asked GF if my alarm went off she said yea and I turned it off! Then I went back to sleep, and woke up GF was gone and left for work. Then went back to sleep and woke up and though I should go to work 15 punk ass minutes of exercise and off to work. got in a little before 9AM. I look at is as well at lease I did something - right? LOL Dang! I am burning up right now I'm so hot! Normally I would get some ice cream to cool off BUT I am stuffed! and really just want to sleep. OH Artemis - I purchased the cooling pillow tonight! GF....well went opp-sies on one of my pillows (1 of 3) and I have not been sleeping well all week using the 2 pillows while she has all 3 of hers. I have high hopes on the cooling pillow!
