I think that the government should mandate that all businesses have private rooms with a bed, so anyone who wants can have sex during their breaks. I get sleepy around 3:00 ish...I need a clean place to nap.

The bathrooms in my building do not lock. Nor do they have outlets. Its a federal facility so I'm assuming there are pumping rooms somewhere. My manager is pregnant, not sure if she will pump or not. She has an office though. If it were someone else, we have a couple of empty offices right now. Conference rooms around here are fishbowls. And in my office it is constant use some days.

legal requirementsTell me why does every little thing have to be legislated? Can't people reason any more? Lets see, bathrooms have locks, coolers keep things cool. Breast pumps have a lot of little parts that need to be kept relatively clean, so trying to balance everything on your lap while sitting on a toilet wouldn't work that well. Since women generally squat over the toilet, you have to assume that the floors is perpetually contaminated with urine, blood and sometimes feces. You also have the issue of plugs. Most bathroom stalls don't have plugs inside them. The plugs are usually over by the sinks or on the wall somewhere, so even, if by some miracle, your cords reached from the plug to the stall, it would be one heck of a tripping hazard. There's also the ICK factor of trying to so something that requires keeping a bunch of little parts clean in a room where rather dirty things are happening. I remeber at my old job, the toilet seats were perpetually covered with blood, urine and feces, and any kinds of stains on the doors would be there for months before anybody cleaned them up. If it is a single toilet, I could see rolling a couple of office chairs into the bathroom working, as long as there was room. That is probably what small businesses will do. But if anybody needed to go during that time (20 minutes), they'd be SOL.

I was thinking a chair in the ladies room close to an outlet.

If I can survive having to wait for my husband in the bathroom I could handle waiting 20 minutes for a woman to pump. At least in that case I am not wondering what is going on in there and if I should call a doctor.

Plus there are no outlets.

Hey some of us have hardwood floors and we are not dry and dusty! Nothing prettier than a properly polished and buffed hardwood floor.

It took me the longest time to figure out why everyone assumes I was in sales when I tell them I used to work for a drug manufacturer. Had I known I could pull down 6 figures I might have done it for a few years and banked it.

How would you feel about having your same gender coworkers see your private bits on a daily basis?
There needs to be privacy, which means a door that locks. There needs to be an outlet and light. There also needs to be someplace to sit and someplace to put all the little parts (2 office chairs would do the trick here). It doesn't necessairly have to be a 'lactation room'. I did just fine in a server room, and an unused conference room.

I was thinking a foot massager would be a nice thing too.

I used to pump in my office. I'd shut the door and do my work while the pump did its thing. It drove my business partner crazy and he'd get completely skeezed out.

my baby doesn't crawl yet. However, he does grab his feet/splash in bathwater/tries to touch his bare butt when he's changed and then puts his hands in his mouth. But what about the airborne poop particles in the bathroom?

Considering we had shyt all over the floor of one bathroom last week I doubt it. A complaint was put into maintenance before it overflowed. I called them after it had overflowed and they said oh that one that's about to overflow?

How would you feel about having your same gender coworkers see your private bits on a daily basis? Really now former....Have you ever been in a men's locker room? How 'bout a men's restroom? How 'bout the older ones with nothing but a trough instead of seperate urinals? Believe me...most men don't give two hoots about whipping out the goods.

You can make sure its properly polished I sure can...with my multi speed buffer. Gotta love a man with the right tools for the job. Plenty of people don't have offices. We've got three empty offices right now. One will be eventually filled. The other two are less likely but they are used by visitors from other offices. It could be a problem on those days.

I've worked for a long time and never come across shyt on the floor of any of the washroom at any of the places I've worked or visited. Its a health issue, perhaps call the health department.

I got pretty good at whipping it out, discreetly.
