Don't any of you have your kids do some chores around the house? Scanning everyone's lists, it seems like only the husbands and wives do chores. We have some things that are only done by one person in the family, and some things that can be done by anyone as needed. I tend to do all the shopping, cooking, financial, laundry, dishes. DH tends to do all the lawn mowing, car stuff, etc. Kids are responsible for garbage/recycling/compost bucket, and usually get pressed into doing some portion of dinner prep: salad, setting table, Kool-aid, etc. Cleaning tends to be hit & miss, as time allows around taxiing kids to and from various activities. DH loves to choose a random kid for the next thing we need done. We are still in the process of adjusting to me switching from SAHM to working part-time, and to DH having the summers off now. We are always sort of working opposite shifts, daily and seasonally (now is my busy time at work).

Like drama, my child is only 20 months. She can help pick up her toys now, and she'll bring me bits she finds on the floor, but that's about the extent of the help she can offer at this point.

DS is 2 (in 2 days!) and he loves to help dust, swiffer, sweep, pick up, clean his tray, etc. We love it and encourage it, but so far its just for fun and not enough to count as actual help. I was tempted to get him the dirt devil kids vacuum though, but went with a trike instead.

DD loves to "help" me put groceries away. It's cute and it makes her happy, but really it takes me twice as long when she helps.

All my kids have fur and four paws. They sometimes eat moths for me! Caught a mouse once too!

Yay, the toddler set are in training! But, really, am I the only one w/ teens (or near teens)? I have DD(12) & DS(9). They do the majority of the dusting and all vacuuming. A few months ago, DS complained about being bored on a day where I was doing a massive clean. This was at a time when he had his electronics taken away. I told him since he was so bored HE could get down on his hands and knees and scrub the kitchen floor. Turns out that he enjoyed it, and was pretty good at it, so he also does that from time to time.

I do most everything plus work full time. Now that DD1 entered pre-k, the two girls go to different schools, so I take and pick up DD1 and he does DD2 so he can get the HOV lane to and from work. The only time he actively helps is when I get mad or specifically tell him to do something. It's a major point of contention in our marriage. We had a huge fight about this last weekend and he promised to do his share of child care and housework. We will see how long it lasts this time. I know it sounds like I have a bad attitude, but we've been down this path soooo many times, so I'm not holding my breath.

I missed the whole drama, but DH has a seasonal job, so he is basically a SAHD during the winter, and does 90% of the housework along with taking care of the "honey do" maintenance list. We clean together on the weekends, but that doesn't take more than an hour to do a full sweep of the house. (OMG, it is glorious during the winter coming home to a hot meal and sparkling clean home.)
In the summer, DH works 4am-8pm, 7 days a week, with the occasional day off. I have a steady 40 hour/wk job, so I pick up everything in the summer (cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.) It's a little hard on me being pregnant and with a 2-year-old, but it's also a hard time for him with his ridiculous work hours in the heat. We just truck through it. The huge jump in income helps ease the pain. However, he still takes DD for an hour or so after he gets home so I can have some time to unwind. I don't mow the lawn, but I also don't care if it gets a little overgrown. DH cares more, so he mows once in a while.
Really can't complain. There are a few things we differ on, like what type of food we should be eating, or how clean is clean, but it's never anything we fuss over.

When DH worked full time, we split chores based on how busy we each were at work. Even though we carpooled our busy times seemed to be slightly different so the person who wasn't busy could decompress and read and then when we got home they were ready to get to work and the other one could decompress. I do 100% of the bill paying and 90% of the cooking/meal planning. DH does 90% of the car maintenance. Since DH started staying home full time he takes care of 90% of the household work. In the summer I help out as much as I can because he has a lot of outdoor projects. DS is 17 months and is becoming a champion duster like his dad. We are really good about splitting chores.

DH works full-time. I work 17.5-20 hours/week at DS6's elementary school. I get off work right before the older kids get out. I have all the school holidays & vacations off. No extra child care is needed. The high school is 8 miles away & the middle school is 4 miles from our home. There are no school buses or direct city bus to our home.
DH: -drops off the middle school & high school kids in the morning -lawn maintenance (for our home & rental property) -home repair & maintenance (for our home & rental property) -auto repair & maintenance -help with school projects
me: -pick up the kids after school -grocery shopping -cooking & clean up -load up dishwasher -bill paying & financial planning -most child care (drs appts, after school care, pick up from school if they get sick/hurt, parent-teacher appts, homework help) -laundry for me, DH, & DS6 -vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting -clean master bathroom -ETA Property management for our rental home (screen & approve tenants, sign leases, collect rent, make calls for repairs)
the kids have a rotating chore chart, so they don't do the same thing every week
Teens (DD11, DS13, & DS15): -help DH w/ lawn & auto maintenance -clean their bathrooms -help w/ vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting -unload dishwasher & put away clean dishes -take out garbage -dog care (feeding, bathing, walking, pooper scooping) -do their own laundry -clean their rooms

DH and I are 50/50. He's even more motivated to randomly tidy up than I am. I'm generally the slob, but when it comes to hard core getting all the corners sanitized cleaning, I got it covered.
