well if all that were true - why didn't Obama, Pelosi and Reed fix that little problem when they controlled both Congress and the White House?

Well he did pass the most important social legislation ever. No one expected Scott Brown, and he wasted time trying to get some Nazi votes for health reform.

#17:I saw where the USA is #17 or so, all schools, but #1 if you take out the schools that include the bottom 10% economically. We screw the really poor. Guess who! TY Pubs! Won't be fixed until we have a living wage either... SO!: Raise the min. wage to get #1 schools, or be a pub and discriimnate against the poor (code?)

I believe Warsaw is saying throw more money at it.
The chart linked in #15 says that using the same dollar value it cost 7 times as much to send a student to school in 2008 than it did in 1962.
I have a question. Did we get students with 7 times as much education?

A question. Two different students/two different schools: - Student "A" with a high IQ, living with two well educated parents in a information and resource rich environment, taught in a school offering Advanced Placement classes, receives a letter informing her that she has been accepted into MIT with sophomore status.
- Student "B" with a below average IQ, living with one dysfunctional parent (and at times in foster care) in a information and resource poor environment, taught in a school for students attempting to gain the skills necessary for passage of the GED tests, receives a letter informing her that she has achieved the minimum scores necessary to be issued a GED certificate.
Which school was more successful? Which teachers did a better job?

The problem is not the schools, it's the neighborhoods of the poorest. Do you want a diagram?

The problem is not the schools, it's the neighborhoods of the poorest. ... I heard once (and can't find it on the internet so of course it doesn't exist) of a study that looked at student achievement at the start of the school year, again at the end of the school year, and then at the start of the next school year. The socio-economic achievement gap lessened during the school year and then widened again after the summer.

A job you can't survive on is not very appetizing, and a stupid Pub idea that has lead us to this mess, out of touch ones. . And yes I have.

No other modern country has such crappy jobs, or Pubs, or #17 schools, or a growing banana republic atmosphere. You're a classic. ;D

If the problem is poor school districts, why are the liberals so dead set against vouchers and let kids go to whatever school they choose?

Surprise, surprise you have top schools in rich neighborhoods and towns. Want to look at the worst schools and the locations.

Yes and DC is one of those rich places, but it has the worst schools north of McAllen, Texas. It also tried vouchers, and had an avalanche of applicantions, until Obama his own self cut them off.
I understand they are back on though, thanks to the Republican House of Representatives.
There are links, but I'll wait for the retorts before I post any. I just want to see how lame the excuses can get.

"If the problem is poor school districts, why are the liberals so dead set against vouchers and let kids go to whatever school they choose? " For the billonth time, the problem is the poverty culture where the students LIVE! Pass a living wage, once we get out of the latest Pub recession....
