What you say in your post #114 is true, marsha, it applies to everyone. You're just as guilty of being snarky on occasion as anyone else. Under the right (or wrong) circumstances, we all can be. The other important matter to consider is that many people take as insults things that are, really, simply disagreements, or misunderstandings. A lot depends on our mood at the time we read the offending post.
For me, nobody I don't know can possibly insult me. How can they? They know nothing about me. If they're pitching insults my way it's because of something I've said they don't agree with. It's not about me, because they don't know me. That's how I take it. I'm pretty much immune to trolling, and to insults made by message board posters. We're going to disagree. The vast majority of the time, it isn't personal unless you make it personal, or allow it to become personal.

Well, this has been a crappy day on the boards, for sure. But, here, Marsha . You get a star for having the most people not talk about your topic in 5 pages for the day.

Hey Sweet Virginia I still like you, and thanx for your service ... However this might cost you tons of points with the Liberal Elite Members and Mods here as you probably know.. P.I. (NOT Politically Incorrect) Thanks P.I. Very kind of you. Yes, I think you are right about the Mods, but I wasn't able to ignore the hypocrisy. I suppose I will have to suffer the consequences if they should arise. Enjoy your Saturday P.I. I don't think you're going to have any problems, Vrginia. Just stick to being yourself and you do just fine!

"A despotic government always keeps a kind of standing army of news writers who, without any regard to truth or to what should be like truth, invent and put into the papers whatever might serve the ministers. This suffices with the mass of the people who have no means of distinguishing the false from the true paragraphs of a newspaper."Thomas Jefferson(1816)

Every now and then some story will come out about Obama lifting a drilling ban or something. THAT will be headline news, but the follow-up story where he changes his mind rarely makes news. Just like when he passed cap and trade to the EPA, or last week HLS quietly passed what amounts to the Dream Act.. it's disgusting what makes headlines and what does not make headlines. On a message board for illegals I found they are jumping for joy over the new ICE directive, while here the thread lasted a page or two then disappeared... and I didn't even know it had happened until been there found it days later and posted it here. Help from the media--- without a doubt. A LOT of help.

Narcissistic people are not mentally deficient, krickitt. There are a lot of them, and they get through life just fine most of the time. Over time, they learn to control the symptoms if they put their minds to it. Their intellects aren't any more deficient than anyone else's, however. narcissists tend to persist believing in things even when confronted with the truth. like "no WMD", for example.

The snarly things are in the eye of the beholder. Many times, they're just people who don't agree with the premise of a thread, or post. If they snarl loudly enough, or cruely they, too, can get burned. You know, I don't mind people disagreeing with me at all, sometimes I even give people big fat karmas for making good points. It's all the personal attention I don't like. Stick to the subject or go talk about something you're interested in. I don't go on threads that don't interest me to tell people they don't interest me. Dare I say I think that's a little nuts? Why do people, instead of talking about the subject of the thread, just want to attack the person who raises an issue they are uncomfortable with? It's hardly the thing to do at a DISCUSSION site for crying out loud. But I know I can write til my fingers fall off. Some people just don't get the distinction between a discussion forum and a chitty chat room. Again, thanks for the ignore button. One thing, the snarling doesn't have to be loud or cruel to be an attack. It can be, and often is, insidious and sly and even have a smiley face attached and it is still an attack. for the record, i never make arguments personal unless i am personally attacked. then, i have no problem stomping the abuser into atoms.

But don't think I stomped them into atoms but wouldn't mind in the least..

In 2008 before the election, I stated that Obama had to get elected to avoid prosecution for his involvement in crime and corruption in Chicago and Illinois. I called for the arrest of Obama. I have continued to call for the arrest of Obama. Impeachment is not necessary or appropriate for someone illegally in the White House. From Citizen Wells December 11, 2008. Obama’s role in rigging the Health Planning Facilities Board “Obama was chairman of the Senate Health & Human Services Committee in January 2003. A few articles in the media have mentioned that Obama sat on a committee that reviewed matters related to the Planning Board in conjunction with the Governor’s staff but none have discussed his integral part in getting the bill passed. A review of senate records from January 2003 to August 2003, shows Obama played a major role as chairman of that committee, in pushing through Senate Bill 1332, that led to the “Illinois Health Facilities Planning Act,” which reduced the number of members on the Board from 15 to 9, making the votes much easier to rig. The bill was filed with the senate secretary on February 20, 2003, and assigned to Human Services Committee for review on February 27. Less than a month later, as chairman, Obama sent word that the bill should be passed on March 13, 2003. On May 31, 2003, the House and Senate passed the bill and the only senator listed in the “yes” votes mentioned in the Board Games indictments is Obama.Blagojevich made the effective date June 27, 2003, and the co-schemers already had the people lined up to stack the Board and rig the votes with full approval from Obama. A June 2003 email exchange produced in the trial shows Obama was one of eight officials who received the names of the nominees for the new Board ahead of time, from the office of David Wilhelm, who headed Blagojevich’s 2002 campaign for governor. The memo said, “we worked closely over the past six months” with eight officials including three state senators. The corrupt new appointees were all contributors to the presidential hopeful, Blagojevich, and the US senate hopeful Obama.
