I got through the box of dad's bowling trophies. The box isn't big so I think it will fit in the trash bin. I only kept two. Probably a dozen are leaving. I no longer am attached to these bowling trophies. I know some places will take old trophies to reuse. They just change out the plate. Not sure if anyone around you does that or not, but they would at least be loved by someone new.

Indiana was gifted 2 beautiful, "warmer" days, so I've had my windows open to air out this cave. The sunshine has done wonders for my mood too. I wish it was here for good, but it's set to drop super cold again later this week. I have slowly started listing items on our Buy Nothing and FB Yardsale groups. My goal is to just pace myself because I have a TON of stuff to unload. This will be my biggest declutter challenge this year. I've done the rooms multiple times, now it's time to get everything out of my garage and basement. I am hoping to make a little $$ off some of the items, but most of the items I just want gone.

We are still doing better than previous months on the spending level. Very few impulse buys, cooking 95% of the meals at home (we haven't ordered out in over a week). Both of my grocery trips this month have been strictly from my list and only my list (minus $1 that I spent on some clearance valentine cards that I picked up for DS2 to use next year).

I had some spendy few days recently.
Friday- H is going to be the derailer this month for sure. Brought home Chick Fil A after DS1's baseball practice- he spent $45! On fast food! I mightve snubbed him for a bit after that.
Saturday- Lunch after DS1's bball game- $30. Then I took him on a mom/son date that night. $20 in arcade credits. $55 in sports decor for his room that he picked out. (next date, no shopping lol)
Sunday- No Spend.
Monday- Bought a medium length cardigan at Walmart for $13. I love these for days I substitute teach because I can throw one on over a plain tee with nice pants and heels and I look put together. It was a pretty blush pink, which I didn't have yet.
Today- Went to coffee shop, but had a gc so $0.

Ohmygoodness- SO CLOSE! My payment on this loan is $420 a month, so you can see almost all of it is going to principal now. I cannot wait to own my SUV!

I started working on our upstairs bonus room, which is the playroom for my kids, yesterday. It's a mess and there is so much up there that needs gone through. I was able to get half the room cleaned and rearranged. I went through all their coloring books and tossed the books that were full. I want to go through the markers and throw away the dried up ones too. I still need to go through the 2 knee-wall closets, but I am going to have to be REALLY motivated to pull out all the toys stored inside and go through them.
I am trying to move everything to just half of this room in a non cluttered way. My business is growing out of the tiny corner in my bedroom, so I am moving upstairs. It will double my current work area. I didn't want to do this because I wanted them to have the whole room for playing and friends visiting, but I've hit the point that I have to do something to have room. They honestly don't use that room as much as I had hoped when we remodeled the attic so I know at least it will be getting regular use now. The BIG goal is to build me a room inside our garage for my work area. But if this can delay spending that kind of money for the time being, I will take it.

I spent $9 unbudgeted today at the McDonald's drive thru. Both of my boys had their yearly well child exams today- DS1 had to get 3 vaccinations (middle school shots + HPV prevention shot). He was a trooper. DS2 didn't need shots, but was very well behaved so I treated them both to milkshakes afterwards. (Got myself a treat too for surviving that crazy visit)

I today was able to have a pedicure . I've avoided it for the past 180 months or so but couldn't and didn't want t avoid . It was glorious and so happy I did so. After that I went to my favorite small town diner for lunch, haven't seen there for a long time. Pedicure was $45 and lunch was about 9. Tomorrow is dinner wth the VA guys, and will also make a trip to Dillards to return a mistake with a purchase....it's best I can do is to make a round trip for both items. That sounds like money well spent on some self-care!

As of Feb 9th, we are still doing great! H did order out from a local Italian restaurant on Monday ($40) but he paid with his cash from a side job. It didn't come out of our household money or onto a CC so I am calling that a win.
I have done ZERO online shopping this month. And my grocery trip last week was strictly only items on my list. I got 2 weeks worth of groceries and essentials for $102.00

The surgery scheduler finally returned my calls and I was able to get back on my doctor's books for my surgery. Unfortunately he's booked out until March 9th, so I took that date. I hate that I have to wait over another month, but at least I will be able to get some more deep cleaning finished up beforehand.

Finally sitting down to post my 2022 Savings Goals. 2022 Goals: Emergency Fund to $3,000 -- I am sure this is about to take a little dip because I have medical bills coming in. DS1's Savings to $2800, DS2's Savings to $1600 -- We give them $100 each from our tax refund each year. Part of their birthday money and their piggy banks also gets deposited. Christmas Fund to $1,000 by October-- Doing this last year was a game changer! I was able to cashflow all Christmas purchases with no anxieties. Cushion Fund to $1000-- Starting this one for the first time. Popping back in to update:
After 2 years of avoiding the 'vid, I tested positive Sunday. Therefore, my surgery monday was cancelled. I am doing okay symptom wise, I had really bad body aches for a day or two. Now it's just an annoying cough and congestion. I was really upset that my surgery had to be rescheduled. I was so looking forward to getting my wrist and elbow fixed. I have to call my surgeon's scheduler today or tomorrow to get back on his books for the OR.

Master bedroom is finished, minus taking the curtains down for a wash and shampooing the carpet. It had become the catch all for everything we had pulled out of other rooms to sort through, so it took me an entire day to do that room. I had a giant stack of random papers that I finally got sorted. I filed what needed saved (most of it was the boys' school work) and trashed the rest.
Rooms left to deep clean: Upstairs bonus room- probably won't get this one done before my surgery Finish the kitchen- clean the cabinet fronts, clean walls, and mop Shampoo all the carpet
Things I also want to accomplish before surgery on Monday: Clean out my car Get groceries Do all the laundry, I am doing it every few days right now to stay on top of it. Give the pup a bath Get my business stuff organized Pay bills Clean out the fridge Wash the throw blankets I plan to snuggle up with in the recliner when I get back from surgery Make sure I have everything organized for the kids for the week

DS2's room took me an entire day, but it is finished (minus shampooing the carpet). We took down his nursery/toddler decor and put up his "big kid" decor. It broke my heart a little since he is our last kiddo.
I can't remember if I shared it here or not but I am scheduled to have carpal and cubital tunnel surgery on my right (dominant) arm on 1/24. I am trying to get as much done in my house as possible before then. I know for sure I am fully restricted for 2 weeks. Then the stitches come out and I am on light duty only/no heavy lifting for awhile. The surgeon said it could be a full 8 weeks before I am feeling "normal" again. I am dreading being out of commission but I am actually looking forward to getting this surgery. I am so tired of living with pain in my wrists and elbows. I plan to declutter my DVR and my netflix/hulu/hbo max to watch lists while I am recovering lol. And to finish Outlander book 3 if I can manage to hold it open.
Rooms left to deep clean: Master Bed (the current catch all of things that didnt belong in other rooms, its a nightmare right now) Upstairs bonus room Finish the kitchen (clean the walls, floors, appliances)
Then on to the basement and garage when I can.

Living and dining room have been deep cleaned! Christmas was taken down, I rearranged my furniture, purchased a new rug and coffee table, and even got all the walls washed. I bought one of the O Cedar Spin Mops with the fancy bucket and it has been a game changer. I had all the walls and trim done in minutes! The mop water was absolutely disgusting.
The kitchen is ALMOST finished. All cabinets have been cleaned out and organized. The fridge and freezer were cleaned out and organized as well. I just need to clean the cabinet doors and walls and give the floor a good mopping.
I have also finished DS1's room. All his Christmas was taken down, we went through all his clothes/books/games, organized everything and deep cleaned. I just need to shampoo his carpet and that room is officially done.
Rooms left to go: DS2's bedroom Bonus Room Upstairs Our room (which will be an undertaking because its become the catch all for things Ive removed from other rooms that need sorted/tossed/moved elsewhere)
Then the basement and garage.....

Today I deep cleaned and organized our main bathroom. I cleaned out the cabinet and tossed old meds and random crap we don’t use. I took the toilet seat off and gave it all a good scrub down with Comet. Omg I clean my toilet two times a week, but never remove the seat. So gross. I will start taking that baby off at least once a week now to clean under it. I also spent some time tackling the hard water on our shower doors. The vanity drawers were vacuumed out and reorganized. The light fixtures and door were also cleaned. And I finished the room off scrubbing the floor tile Cinderella style. (It’s a small room). Tossed and replaced toothbrushes and loofahs. It feels so clean and ready for the new year.

2022 is off to a great start, organization wise. I have already finished my desk/office nook. 2021 docs have been shredded, everything is neat and organized on the desktop and shelves. I also got the laundry/bath finished today. All the shelves were wiped down and organized, I threw out all the old bath toys because neither kid takes baths anymore, I deep cleaned the toilet. All I need to finish in there is the floors. And then I will run a vinegar cycle through the front loader like I do every other month- give the seals a good wipe down and clean the catch drain. I will also run my lint lizard through the dryer vent to catch lingering lint. Then I can mark that room off my spring cleaning (but in January because spring time is just too dang busy for us) list!
