Goals for 2022:
Keep on keepin' on in regards to keeping clutter down/organization in place FINALLY get the basement and garage under control Declutter about 40 lbs off my body Prioritize myself and my needs. My mantra for 2022 is: "Put on your own oxygen mask first". I've really failed in this dept in 2021, and it snowballs in to so many aspects of my life (decluttering/cleaning included)

With all due respect to those that had a tough year in 2021, for me it has been a great year. I got so much of my wish list accomplished, I lost 65 lbs, I spent so much time at camp last summer and I've had a job I love. If 2022 can live up to 2021 I will be very happy. I love reading this! I hope you get a repeat year!

Whew, I havent been around for like 2 weeks. I was crazy busy with the Santa Shop at my kids' school for a week. Then we left for our magical Disney World vacation for a week. It was EXACTLY what our little fam needed after this crazy year. The weather was gorgeous- sunny and in the low 80s all week, crowds were still manageable since it wasn't Christmas break yet, and my kids were ANGELS (which never happens on vacations). Doing a trip and a smaller Christmas might become our new tradition. I have 6 pages here to catch up on in this thread, but I hope I find that everyone is doing well. Merry Christmas from this corner of the internet to yours!

This will most likely be the last update on this race for 2021! The goal was to get this one under 15k by the end of the year. We didn't hit that, but I am happy with the progress we made!!

WOO HOO! We got a ZERO on this update! Our Citi Best Buy is now a $0 balance. Once we finish holiday shopping/expenses (only 3 people left to buy for) and our Disney trip (11 days til we head out, entire trip paid for in cash and free money I've earned on rewards sites and apps!), we are going to give a job to H's side hustle money. We are really leaning towards paying off that pool (or paying as much as we can on the balance to get it gone, since its our highest interest rate right now).

I did manage to go through my dresser drawers and give everything a nice refold. And my side of the closet is neat and organized again. It makes me happy.
I shut my business down for the month of December, so I am going to spend today listing all my in stock items to try and unload them before I close out the month.

Inching closer to my 2021 goal of having this loan under $2,700- which I should hit next month! I am chomping to pay this one off with my H's extra side hustle $$, but with that low interest rate, it isn't the best move for us. Soon enough, soon enough, this will be history!!!

I had to come post another update for our savings! I transferred our extra funds over to the boys' savings accounts and hit their goals today. In total, they were less than $200 from the goals so I moved it over while I had some extra $$$ sitting without a job in my checking. I also transferred $300 over to our EF- I may be able to move more this Friday. H received a $2,500 raise at work, retroactive back to July so he will be getting a lump sum payment on this next check for July-Nov.

I have 3 gifts and 3 gift cards left to purchase and my Christmas shopping is COMPLETE! We leave for Disney on 12/10, so my goal has to been to have all shopping completed before we leave! It feels good to be close to the end of the holiday spending

nikiz628 , does your neighborhood use NextDoor app? There are always people asking for cardboard boxes for moving. Just one more option to recycling. I didn't think of that. We don't have the NextDoor app thing here, but we do have community FB groups I could list them on! THanks for the rec!

I have a PILE of cardboard boxes on my deck to take to the baseball dumpster. Perks of being board members, they let us throw our junk in the dumpster when needed- that really comes in hand sometimes. I wish our recycling center would open back up fully, its been limited hours and limited items accepted for a few months now. And before that it had been closed completely since COVID began. I miss recycling.
My goals for the week are to just get caught back up with my regular weekly to do's. If I can do that, I would love to do a quick closet clean out. I try to do it at least twice a year to keep it from getting out of hand. If nothing else, just going through and straightening up the items makes it look much less messy. I would also like to throw some of the junk sitting in the "toss" pile in our basement out (again, yay for that dumpster access). It usually isn't an issue but I've been down there pulling out Christmas totes and its a pain to maneuver around all the trash.

I'm so so sorry for your loss sealy . Oh no nidena ! Hope it's a quick/cheap fix! So you bought a new car?! nikiz628 could you transfer the pool costs to another card? Or borrow from savings? H made some extra money on one of his side hustle, and its enough to pay off that pool loan. We are seriously considering applying it to that due to that ridiculous rate. And because its our highest minimum payment after my car payment. We could take that $382 and put it towards other debt.

So close nikiz628 ! How is the subbing and the company going? I haven't picked up any sub shifts since my kiddos had COVID. Mostly because there just haven't been any openings. I have 2 days next week, and 2 days the following week scheduled though. The business is going CRAZY good. I am swamped. My first vendor event is on Sunday, so I've been prepping for it like a madwoman.

I spent 3 hours cleaning the upstairs playroom last week. I didn't do a thorough toy clean out, but I did fill 2 trash bags full of old toys to sell/donate, as well as an old plastic crayola desk. We have two closets built into the knee wall that are full of toys that the kids weren't regularly playing with (so they didnt need to be out in the room). THAT is where I need to do the major cleanout. I am hoping to do this before Christmas gifts start rolling in.
Today's goal is to organize my masterbedroom/business work space. I am prepping for my first vendor event so I have boxes EVERYWHERE. I need to go through, organize that stuff, get my open orders completed and packed for pickups, and then clean up the room. I cannot wait until we build my new workspace in our garage. I am tired of this stuff drowning out our bedroom.

Sheepishly approaches this thread after all the encouragement received last week... Last weekend I had all these plans to do a thorough cleaning of one of the rooms. Once I entered, I was overwhelmed. Does that happen to any of you, when you see all that needs to be done, even if you can break it down to more manageable smaller tasks, it still seems like a whole lot and it's just crushing? Eventually, I just vacuumed as I normally would, and then got one of the big drawers sorted out, so a small win, I guess?! This weekend I gotta do better and get more done. It is really important to me, so I am hoping that posting here doesn't force me into hiding but motivate me. I don't want to quantify it and shoot myself in the foot. But I would like to come here next week and have something positive to report. Here we go *fingers crossed* You've got this!!!!!

Welp, we are back in quarantine. DS2 tested positive today. I am not surprised, his best friend tested positive on Monday and they are inseparable at school. They let them drop masks outside at recess, so sharing is what they did apparently. Half of his kindergarten class is now in quarantine. So stressful! How’s it going? Well DS1 tested positive on an at home test yesterday, so we are going tomorrow for a real test. His school doesn't accept at home test results. It's not been too bad, I just feel like I am disinfecting in circles. Thankfully, I am vaccinated and my at home test was negative. It must be doing something for me to avoid it when everyone else in the house has had it. I will be getting a real test tomorrow as well just to be safe.
