Last night I finally organized my guest bath cabinets and drawers. It had gotten out of control messy so it was time to declutter. I then used the goodies I found and took a bubble bath to try to steam the congestion out of my head. Didn’t find anything to toss but a lot to use up over time. I also got some stacking plastic organizers at Costco yesterday, the size they sell for scrapbook pages, and am using those for fabric. A lot more manageable and easy to keep clean. Once I get the rest of the cabinet out in the trash I will decide if I’m going to buy a metal shelf for the space, a second workbench or homemade shelves for all my boxes. I also hate tossing products. I pulled out all my partially used items, and put them in the shower/vanity/wherever they need to be placed to be seen and used up. It's working. I finished off an old bottle of conditioner yesterday. I'm using up my lotion supply as well. I am not letting myself buy anything new until I use up what I have here.

Chiver, just play cards now. Just do it. It's never easy, but it doesn't get easier with age either. If you have a 10 or 20 in the jar, take that out. If that's not enough you can always take more from an ATM. Feel free to ignore me if you want. (But I am your Jewish mother, whispering in your ear LOL.) ha. it's fine. I won't break the hundred this week. I have other cash in my wallet, and don't need to buy any meals out this week. I want to put that hundred in the jar. 😁

Update: 10 hours later and the baseball concession stand is back in clean and working order. I set 6 snap traps around the interior and have already caught 1 mouse. I am going back tomorrow to check the traps. I will keep an eye on the poop situation between now and kickoff in April, cleaning as needed. I've also sent a message to a reputable pest company here...currently waiting for a response.

Yesterday I started a cleaning/decluttering project outside of my house. H and I are on our local Little League board (first year on) so we are helping with all the "field area readiments" for the upcoming season. H's company donated a security system for the concession stand, as it has been vandalized and broken in to several times over the past year. While he was installing the equipment last night, I figured I would go along too and start cleaning the concession stand. The kids happily played on the baseball field during this so it was a win/win. Oh. My. Goodness. I could not believe my eyes when I walked in to the stand. It was a hot mess. The fridge units were unplugged, obviously because they don't need to be cooling right now. BUT...BUT... you guys, they left FOOD in the fridges when they unplugged them last summer. (Insert puke face). Bowls with foil covering who knows what inside, so many condiments, two bags of what were giant pickles, butter... it was just hanging out in this not cold fridge. I immediately tossed EVERY item inside. As for everything else in the stand, it was covered in mouse poop. Not surprising since it's a concession stand on the edge of the woods that's been sitting unoccupied since July. I tossed out everything that would come in contact with food that had mouse poop on it (napkins, trays, spoon rests, etc). I got one counter completely clear of feces and scrubbed it with lysol cleaner. I am going back today with bleach water to basically douse all of it. Polling the audience here- they have those "no see" mouse traps inside. I only found one that had closed, so while they caught 1 whole mouse, the rest were still sitting there untouched. What could I use in there to help repel/catch these mice? I have a bunch of regular old snap traps here that I am going to set tonight, but I am looking for something more long term. That's so disgusting. That was so nice of you to clean that up. Thanks! I've logged 7 volunteer hours into this so far...and I am still not done. SO CLOSE, but not there yet.

We are about to enter "crazy season" in our household. Spring soccer, baseball, family vacation, end of school events, etc.... this time of year quickly fills up our calendars. I am sitting down today to get my game plan together, so that I can keep the next few months as *stress free* as possible.
Meal planning (maybe even some meal prepping/freezer meal prep) Several different "To Do" Lists Budget Check/Making Sure all Bill payments are scheduled Updating my planner with all of this
I keep repeating "A failure to plan is a plan for failure" lol. I know I can only plan for so much of it, but the more "on top of it" I feel, the less my anxiety creeps in.

This is ridiculous. I sat down to update my post from ... last paycheck ... almost a week ago ... and it is already the end of the month. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN? Anyway, I am now without visitors and a weekend is happening soon, so if you can get your updates posted by Sunday afternoon, March 3, I'll plan to update the smilies around then, and forwardwego will do the shoutouts whenever she has the time. I read a completely accurate meme on fb that said something like: January took 3 years to end, February is currently driving 70 in a 35. So, so true.

nikiz628 you might want to check with a local pest control company and see if they can recommend something, without having to actually hire them. Will you also be restricted by what you can use since that area is essentially a restaurant area. When DD worked at the Little League concession stand they had to pass the same inspections as a restaurant. That is what I am wondering as well. Like I said, totally new to all this. The husband and wife who ran the concession last year, are no longer on the board, and with them went all the "inside info" (they ran it for a few years). I think that contacting a pest control company for advice is a great idea!

I suck at organizing too. I can get the upstairs company ready pretty quickly most days (which is a huge improvement), but my cabinets, drawers, and closets are a mess. I've really thought about hiring an organizer to come in and help me set up a system I can keep up on my own. A newer friend of mine used to do that for a living so I might see if she wants a side gig to come help me out. I really need to figure out what to do with non-monthly paper and bills. Those end up in piles in various places and let's just say...it's not good. I have considered becoming a "professional organizer"....

I am pretty worthless today. I am getting the mountain of laundry washed, dried, and if I am feeling really sassy, put away. Dinner is thawing in the fridge- I froze some soup we had a few weeks ago, so that's dinner tonight. I hate days when I am this tired. Stupid thyroid.

The Marshalltown area of Iowa until Spring 2020 then on to Indianapolis. Briefly lived in Indy (still in Indiana). I think you will love it there.

I spent $10 on 1/2 a dozen chocolate covered strawberries for H. A local nonprofit that helps underprivileged children in our county was selling them as a fundraiser. And $3 on a card.

Well it took a few days, but I finally got my kitchen finished. I managed to go through every cabinet and drawer, purging and organizing. I cleaned off the top of the fridge and organized the inside of the fridge and freezer. I even tackled under the sink (which was a scary place). It feels so nice to have it all in order again. It's the only room in the house that we haven't remodeled. It needs it, but it's has to wait until the attic conversion is finished. So, in the mean time, just having it organized and neat will do.
I purged/donated 94 items!
Total for my goal: 667/2,019 items

I have a few hours until I have to take DS1 to basketball practice. I am trying to will myself into the kitchen to do some cleaning....but the rainy, gray day is really working against me.
I've at least kept up on my daily cleaning schedule this week....

Serious...DH and I keep about $1000 stashed in house. Some think stupid but just security if all atms down. I read somewhere that you should always have a minimum $500 cash in your home in case of an emergency. So, I don't think it's stupid at all! We generally have between $500-$1000 in our fire safe.
