copy/pasted my post from WIRR
Things are about to be shaken up in our household... my H has decided to leave his job that he's had since he graduated high school. (14 years ago). You may remember he works for my uncle in telecommunications/security/networking. A job presented itself at our children's school corp in the IT dept and they wanted him to apply (his company now handles a lot of their contracted work). The contract is for 240 days a year, with 2 weeks vacation/2 weeks leave, retirement, medical/dental, and the ability to work from home at times. They were able to match what he is making now- so it's a lateral move financially. The job will allow him to be home more and work a set 8-3 schedule, instead of 8-whenever his day is done. This probably all reads so wonderfully, but of course there is a downside. 1. He's leaving a family business, where he is basically #2 in the company behind my uncle. 2. My uncle/his boss offered him $15,000 more a year to stay. $15,000. It stings the financial coordinator side of me to know he walked away from such a big raise. I know he has not been happy at his job for awhile and ultimately his happiness is the most important thing. Change is very hard for me. With my anxiety disorder and my panic attacks, you can imagine how this has affected me. We thoroughly discussed both sides before he made his decision, but it still feels so weird to me that the life we've had since before we were married is going to be different after this month ends. The school board still has to officially approve his hiring, once that happens he will finish out this month at his current job and start the new job 7/1.
Another change that will throw me for awhile: going to bi-weekly pay. He's paid weekly now so I've never had to stretch a check. And the way his contract works, his actual annual salary is $10,000 less than what it is. He's "picked up" extra responsibilities that pay out separately, so that $10,000 is divided up and only paid out on the 2nd check of the month. So, not only am I going to have to completely redo our budget, but I won't even know for a month or so what his 1st pay & 2nd pay will be. Cue more panic. We will make it work. We will make it work. We will make it work. But until this becomes normal to me, I am a hot hot mess.

Wow nikiz628 ! I never realized you work too! - DH fixed the leaky toilet! - I fixed the spot in the kitchen where the paint was coming off. I have the names of two electricians. I need to call one or both on Monday.
This weekend DH and I plan to clean and oil the wooden kitchen countertops (DH has been promising to do it for 18 months).
ETA: - DH cleaned + oiled the kitchen counter while I was at work today. I washed everything that lives on the counter. Waiting for the counter to be 100% dry before I put everything back.
DH finished his honey-do list.
Oh I am a SAHM, but I do a lot of volunteer "work".

H, the boys, and I enjoyed a quick weekend getaway to Chicago this past weekend. It was our gift to H for Father's Day, but we also went because DS1 & DS2 had passes to play catch on Wrigley Field. (I think H was as excited as they were). We also booked a tour of the ballpark afterwards, and got to see lots of "off limit to the public" places like the visitors locker room, the home dug out, and the press box. We had a blast, took lots of photos, and made some fun memories! Back to reality now. This is a copy.paste of last week's to do list with some additions added on and a few things marked off. It was a slow week for me last week, and most of these are "every week" items anyway. General Goals/To Do's for the upcoming week: Make grocery list/meal plan for the week
Clean out the fridge
Clean bathrooms
Clean kitchen
Dust/Vac/Mop
Pay bills/Balance checkbook Drop off recycling
Go to the grocery storeClean out the car (and vacuum) Call insurance company re: possible hail damage to roof
Work baseball concession stand 1-2 nightsClear off my desk/file papers Make my doctor appointment Lofty goals for the week:
Clean out my closet and dressers again (yes, again- my sister wants to have a yard sale soon and I need to continue downsizing) Clean out both bedside tables (3 drawers each)
Clean out and organize dresser drawersReorganize under our bed Go through clothing for both kids (pull out what doesn't fit/doesn't get worn) --- FINISHED DS2's clothing, just need to do DS1's Organize their dressers & closets -- finished DS2's Go through medicine cabinet and bathroom storage to purge and organizeGo through ALL the toys in this house and purge/organize Remulch the flower beds in the front and back yard I didn't feel like I accomplished a lot until I went through and marked them out on here! Not a bad week if I do say so! I purged 147 items between my clothing, the kids' clothing, and my bathroom products. I pulled a ton from DS1's clothing, but it wasn't technically purged. It went to the totes in the basement for DS2 to grow in to (i've hardly had to buy this kid clothes- the perks of having 2 boys during the same season lol). Declutter count to date: 855/2,019

bankergurl, I know life has been so tough for you lately, but I am in awe of your strength. I know you don't always feel strong, but you amaze me daily. I just wanted you to know this.

Took my childhood trophies to the local shop, kept the little metal placards but gave the owner the rest. (He gets his marble from China! so I'm hoping I saved him a few dollars on imports) Took the notepads and notebooks to the college. I also dropped off my Stitch Fix return, mailed a bunch of old bras to Free the Girls, and mailed some earrings that I was getting rid of to a friend. On Thursday, I'll probably take a bunch of half-full paint cans to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. I have quite a few. That's a great idea for old trophies. I have a rubbermaid tote full of old softball trophies in my garage attic that I wasn't sure what to do with.

It's been a slow go getting back into the swing of things since vacation. We've been running a mile a minute and I've had zero energy- a bad combination. I did manage to purge 11 items from our grill area on the deck. That takes this years total to 708/2,019 items purged.
DS1 is now on summer vacation. I am excited to hog him for the next 2 months. Our schedules will still be busy for awhile, but at least most of the obligations are in the evenings.
General Goals/To Do's for the upcoming week:
Make grocery list/meal plan for the week Clean out the fridge Clean bathrooms Clean kitchen Dust/Vac/Mop Pay bills/Balance checkbook Drop off recycling Go to the grocery store Finish baseball flyer Clean out the car (and vacuum) Call insurance company re: possible hail damage to roof Work baseball concession stand 2 nights Baseball games for DS1 2 (possibly 3) nights Clear off my desk/file papers Make my doctor appointment
Lofty goals for the week:

UPDATE: Race #2
RACE #2 | INTEREST | ORIGINAL | LAST UPDATE | THIS UPDATE | DIFFERENCE | Auto Loans (2 cars) | 4.23% | $32,991.93 | $18,427.86 | $17,722.11 | $705.75 |
NikiZ628 (2): 5/27/19 $17,722.11 (3/26/18 $32,991.93) Total Paid in 2019: $1,806.99 Total Paid Overall: $15,269.82
I missed updating last month because we left for Disney. That's okay because this month's "difference" column just makes me feel like I made a big dent in it haha. We crossed the $15,000 paid off mark. We are about $1,500 away from having this one half gone. There could be a shake-up on this loan soon though. If you remember, when H purchased a used truck last year, the bank just combined his $8000 loan into our existing SUV loan. He is now considering selling this truck. If that's the case, the bank will separate his current balance from my SUV current balance. (IDK how that works exactly, it's just what the loan officer said when we bought it). He is calling the bank tomorrow to figure it all out so..stay tuned.

Finally caught up on the 6 pages here that I missed while we were on vacation! Whew!! We got home last Sunday from our vacation. Disney/Florida was amazing, as always! The kids were very well behaved over all (major improvement over last years trip haha). We packed in as much magic and fun that we could! So much so, that it took me a week to rebound from the trip! Now we are trying to return to "normal" around here. We still have a couple weeks left in our "chaos" schedule, seeing the light at the end of this exhausting tunnel. My mom and sister want to have a yard sale soon, so I need to find some free time to get my stuff organized and ready to take to my mom's house. Goals for this week:
Survive. Drop off a month's worth of recycling at the recycling center. Print punch cards for our PTO carnival (due friday) Put together a raffle donation for carnival Work the carnival on Friday Put the laundry away Plant flowers in the planter box out front (its the last part that needs something in the front yard) Clean out my fridge Catch up on our DVR

debthaven- I have 2 boys, 8 & 3. Both sports are for Mr.8. Mr. 3 will begin sports in the fall, and once that happens, DS1 will have to start picking one sport when 2 run consecutively. Both sports he is in now take place at the same park, which is 3 blocks from our house. This makes them very convenient, but still time consuming. H and I are both on the Little League Board and this can be a FT job if you let it be. I also coach DS1's soccer team, so it's more time consuming for me than it could be. But, by coaching soccer, I am able to work soccer around his baseball schedule. (H is the assistant coach for his baseball--- because we really don't like free time haha).

My weekend to do list:
Survive baseball kickoff jamboree Saturday (I will be there from 9 am until God knows when in the evening). Do several rain dances for Sunday, so soccer kick off gets cancelled (they are calling for rain/storms, and I would SO LOVE for this to happen)

This week, I've been working on decluttering our DVR after the kids go to bed. Since DS1 was on spring break for 2 weeks, the boys hogged the tv in the evening. We have A LOT of shows to catch up on.
We are rolling in to week 1 of the 8 weeks of chaos I mentioned previously. I am going to do my best to stay up to date here, and keep my to do lists posted for accountability.

Team: Dust first.
I dust on Wednesday’s and then vacuum. I usually end up vacuuming a couple more times throughout the week because kids be kids.

So in case you ever wondered why women smother their spouses in their sleep... I mopped the floors, cleaned the bathroom, washed and dried the mop heads and cleaning rags, cleaned the stairs, dusted and vacuumed the hallway, dusted and vacuumed the living room and assorted other miscellaneous tasks. I discovered that the cat missed the litter box and peed down the back of it when I went to mop the kitchen floor so I threw it out in the driveway and bleached the crap out of that part of the tile. DH wasn't thrilled when he finished work that I sent him outside to deal with cleaning it. Then the switch on the vacuum cleaner was acting up and he fixed that. Then I found the reason the footrest in my recliner wasn't working properly was because the springs were on the floor behind the chair. So he fixed that. I really appreciate all that. I fed him dinner. I went outside to grab the throw rugs I had airing on the porch railing. And I saw it. HE USED A WHITE TOWEL TO CLEAN THE FREAKING LITTER BOX!!! WHO DOES THAT? Ohhhhh girrrlllll

I am sitting here trying to get a list of freezer meals I can whip up in the next week- I need them to be WW friendly, so that's the issue I am having at the moment. nikiz628 whatever meals you decide on, can you make double batches? We rarely do that now but we did that a LOT when we had the kids at home. We have 4 kids (so 6 ppl) but we kept cooking for 8 until there was just 1 kid at home (so 3 of us). ETA: nikiz628 I don't know much about WW but since I was keto and am now low-carb, could you (or your DH if he's not doing WW) also cook larger quantities of starches like rice/potatoes/pasta to stretch out those meals? A lot of times, if I am doing freezer cooking, I do double the batch. WW basically encourages high protein/lower carb & sugar. I do make starches but I balance them out with zero point foods like chicken and veggies.

Sharon- I am so sorry that you have been dealing with someone like that. I hope your boss takes a stance on this now that you've let him know and I hope your stress levels reduce drastically. ((Hugs))

I am sitting here trying to get a list of freezer meals I can whip up in the next week- I need them to be WW friendly, so that's the issue I am having at the moment. We are about 2 weeks away from 8 weeks of pure chaos [schedule wise] and I am trying to prep for this as much as possible.
I don't want to end up cruising through a drive thru multiple times a week.
After I finish this, I will get my to-do list put together for the week.
