Misleading thread that mods have not challenged

Tennesseer, they do not work for a grocery store. They are employees for a company who have a contract to clean the floors in a Cub Food Store.
I made several requests to have the misleading thread corrected, but alas, there were no mods reading the thread, I assume.

He is not a grocery worker. Presumably, his co-worker is also not a grocery store worker. He is a floor cleaner that happens to clean a grocery store. If he cleaned the floors of the hospital or a car dealer, he would not be employees of those companies, he's still be a floor cleaner working for a cleaning business that has been contracted to clean a grocery store.

Multiple posters in the thread have pointed this out.

Additionally, this is the title of the link from the article in the OP:

"Grocery Store Workers Go On Hunger Strike Over Stagnant Wages".

The author of the thread changed a word or two to make the article title fit within the confines of the thread title box. It still accurately discribes the article title.

If you disagree with the news link, complain to the news link.

formerexpat-at this point bring you can bring this up with moonbeam in a PM. I see no reason to have the author of the thread in question change the title of it. The thread title reflects the article title in good faith.

look.. i don't know how many times i have to explain that i work a very busy, full time job. i cannot and do not read every thread. plus, i had already stated that i wasn't going to be looking at everything under a microscope.. if you don't use report to mod, or send me a PM, there's a very good chance i won't know about it. in no way do i scrutinize any one group of people over others.

if you want to continue to tell me that 'you pick on X group' then don't be surprised when i suddenly toss X group out on their collective rear ends because i can't stand the whiny crap.. i absolutely don't need it.

oh and i HAVE noticed that most of the whining happens to come from the posters who are also the most belligerent and who tend to bully those with differing opinions.. coincidence? i think not!

sorry about that, but if if Jose the floor cleaner only knew how much attenton his hunger strike is getting and all he wants after nine years at the same wages is say another .50 per hour, and some one to pat himon the back once a year, and say "good job Jose".

Other posters can see from my thread here that the other thread title is misleading, in MY opinion. Problem solved, no action by moderator necessary.

i have read the OP of the thread in question. i don't see where it's misleading at all.. whether he is actually employed by the grocery store itself, or as a contractor, it is the grocery store who controls his wages.. even if he hasn't learned any new skills, he should at LEAST be getting a cost of living increase..he's not. so he and his co-worker are protesting to bring it to cub's attention..

I'm not sure who you are talking about with this statement but I know it's not me. I haven't PM'd a moderator more than a few times and that was only due to a couple exceptions I took on deletion of my posts or threads for what I can only say were questionable reasons.

I disagreed with the moderator and moved on. Not a big deal. As I said when you set the board up, most people here are and/or should be very grateful towards you, myself included. You have set up a pretty successful board here where a lot of members were able to come over and not lose the connections they have with many other posters here at nonMSN.

Unrelated to the topic of the thread, how could the grocery store control the wage of a worker of an independent, contracted company? Our company contracts a lot of the policy related administration to TPA's. We don't control the workers wage, the company we've contracted to controls the wage of the employees. Thousands of businesses work with a similar model without controlling the wages of the employee of the contracted company.

Does the grocery store also control the wage of the CEO of the contracted company?

if Jose's contract company is anything like mine, it's controlled by profit margin... so not necessarily directly by cub... but if the contracting company is not getting what it considers enough, then they will just take it out of the workers' pockets...


i am sure my contract company gets at least double what they pay ME.... and i have to beg for raises too..

OK as a former Moderator for the P&M MSN Boards (2007).. I have reviewed this thread issue and Will have to go with Value Buy.... the thread in question is indeed misleading and should have been edited by the originator or by a Mod ..and now we have again the question of double standards and I will defer to Ms Moonbeam to address that ..are Liberals given special treatment here while conservatives most definitely are NOT.

Or is Lakhota given special preferences because of his Liberal Bias by cutting and pasting liberal media news items
