... .. and now we have again the question of double standards and I will defer to Ms Moonbeam to address that ..are Liberals given special treatment here while conservatives most definitely are NOT. ... IMHO, P.I. Moonbeam did address it last night. expat, what gets me pissed off is the automatic assumption on certain posters' part that any moderating or other (supposed) negativity is all leveraged against one set of people.. and it's not. if (generic) you think it is, then by all means.. find somewhere else more to your liking.. that's all. and no, i wasn't specifically referring to you..

I see my prediction about wasting time bickering/moaning about "misleading thread titles" has finally come to fruition...and even earned it's own thread.

Ok and I plead guilty for being one of those who has automatically assumed that moderating is indeed leveraged against one set of people including this bunch (Conservatives, old marines, Canadian attorneys)... but Moonbeams says "NO way Jose !!"..so that is good enough for me..
But that leaves me to another question why didn't our resident editor for political correctness ..aka billsonboard pick up on this misleading thread??? Was his silence on this one just an oversight..??

I did read them all Ma'am and will go with your ruling....afterall who the hell am I to question a Liberal Bias here?? But that's how I read and interpret some threads that Lakhota starts..
But you must admit some of my threads got a lot of hoopla for being misleading or not quite politically correct.. and here we have one that is OK..?? Ok enough said on this issue but thanx for letting me express my concerns and again NO BIGGIE

Was his silence on this one just an oversight..?? Early on in the thread, which is the only part that I have read, the discussion I remember was over whether the persons in question were justified or not in their complaint on wages paid. I don't recall anyone arguing that if they were, in fact, "grocery workers" they would be justified but since they work for a company contracted by a grocery store they weren't justified. Not sure why/how it became relevant.

if Jose's contract company is anything like mine, it's controlled by profit margin... so not necessarily directly by cub... but if the contracting company is not getting what it considers enough, then they will just take it out of the workers' pockets... i am sure my contract company gets at least double what they pay ME.... and i have to beg for raises too.. now.. off to bed.. have to be up by 4 am. You shoud start your own contracting firm then, and so should Jose if he doesn't like the treatment he gets from his current employer. When I used to do facilities management, I contracted with a janitorial firm for building maintenance on one of the buildings I managed. The firm was owned by a Mexican-born man who came here (legally) with no money and practically no English. He got a job as a janitor and worked his ass off while learning English, eventually started his own company with his wife and brother-in-law and became a pretty successful business owner with about 15-20 employees, if I recall. Last I heard, he had his kids in private Catholic school and owned a home, two dreams he had expressed when I first met him. This guy was an American success story and I was impressed by him. Sitting around and pissing and moaning and going on a bullshit "hunger strike" over circumstances you have the freedom to change is for losers...

OK I will accept your excuse and that just proves that the Mods and Political Correctness Zealots blow it once in awhile..?? Or possible just look the other way and that is no big deal...much more important issues to discuss than this one...i.e Santorum enters 2012 presidential and his poll numbers are in the toilet except for the religious right When Santorum talks nobody listens and usually doze off zzzzzzzzzzz

ed, i don't have any desire to run a company... i don't even much care for "running" this place.. too many headaches.. i don't mind being a lead (which i'm not now, but have been) but that's enough for me. i like to be able to just come in, do my job, and leave. i already take on tasks that are not within my job description because they will not get done in a timely manner otherwise. then again, as long as i'm not truly overstepping myself, i don't stand on the premise of 'it's not my job'.. if it affects me, and i can do something about it, i will do so.

Gee, thanks.
But let's try to do a better job with your quest for Poltical Correctness because with too many slip ups , one's reputation for excellence and accuracy might just take a hit...

Hey Moonbeam for what it's worth I still like you and think you are doing an awesome job. And not just saying that to gain points ...I don't need or want any as you know
For accuracy sake, the title that I questioned was an outright lie created to inflame. It had nothing to do with "political correctness".

I was always under the impression that it was the contracting company that put money in the worker's pocket.
