And I enjoyed every second of it. Oh, I also went out to dinner before the concert, and went shopping and bought a leopard print trench coat.
Flame me.

Good for you! It's important to enjoy the fruits of your labor. That is why you work so hard.

So who was performing? (I'll flame only if it's somebody I don't like. ;-) )

Kid Rock <<waiting for the flames to start>> Well, I can't think of anyone I want to see badly enough to drop that kind of money on tickets. I don't even want to spend $99 for a three day ticket to Rapids Jam and they have multiple country acts billed. BUT.............its your money, not mine and as long as you enjoyed yourself, who am I to flame you.

OMG, I wasn't a "fan" but Kid Rock is pretty cool. Especially when he had that "Mini Me" guy with him. I think "Mini Me" passed on some years ago.

I saw them in '87 and '90 and really enjoyed the shows (then kids came along and $$ wasn't there for concerts). I'll have to see if they're gonna be anywhere around here.

Please to tell us more about this leapord trench coat. Specifically, where we can get one. Um, knee length, light weight, waterproof, and on sale. I bought it at The Bay. I was going to post a link, but it doesn't look like they have on line shopping.

I will flame you not for the money you spent, but the person you went to see And I can't really say anything anyway, DH and I are going to see Soundgarden in Chicago 7/16 and between tickets, a motel, and gas, it'll probably be close to $500. But it's SOUNDGARDEN!

Swamp.
You should be ashamed. You are making poor choices, do you realize that 500 of 30 years at 11% would have allowed you to retire 40.875 days earlier? I hope the few seconds of smelling Kid Rock's sweat was worth 40.875 days of your retirement.
The dinner...just expensive poop. The coat will probably hang around in your closet, moths won't even eat that shit.
btw. Who the hell pays $500 to see Kid Rock?
Admitting you have a problem (paying to see a has-been rocker), is the first step to recovery.

Now I would have paid $500 to see Kid Rock get his ass kicked in that Waffle House parking lot... ;D

I was tempted to spend that much on tickets to the Sasquatch Festival, and the only band I really wanted to see was Flogging Molly. But we don't have the money. If I'd had the money, you can bet it would have been spent. Since I am certain you did not go in to debt or delay paying your electric bill for this, all I can say is I hope you had an amazing time.

A couple of days ago I read about a Legends of Rock cruise that included a lot of the good bands from the 1970s (Marshall Tucker comes to mind). I'm not into cruises- too structured for my taste- but spending a week or so on board with a bunch of greying baby boomers rocking to the stuff they heard in college could be a lot of fun! rocklegendscruise.com/At about $2K per person double occupancy for 4 nights, many room types are already sold out. Wonder if you gotta bring your own medicinal marijuana. ;D

I'm hurt. But you'll have to agree that the leopard print coat is hot. Hot? It screams: Dry cleaners! Pronto! Aren't most dress coats dry clean only? I'm pretty sure it looks much better than the pink fleece or the navy blue golf windbreaker that I have been using for a spring coat.

Wonder if you gotta bring your own medicinal marijuana. ;D I can't vouch for that one in particular, but the company I vacation with each year has a Lynyrd Skynyrd cruise - the Simple Man Cruise as well as various other themes.....including Kid Rock.those links are all for this past season's events. the next one up is in September, Michael Franti's Rombello. I highly recommend this form of vacation. ETA: just noticed your comment about cruises being too structured for your liking. sixthman's cruises are absolutely not structured like a normal cruise. it's more like a typical music festival - except that it happens on a boat rather than on land.
