wow, yesterday ended up being 'finance day' whether I intended it or not! I balanced my checkbook after 3 weeks, transferred money to savings, tallied how much I owe Mom for my part of the phone bill, filled up the Toyota with gas, got coffee with sbx gift card, withdrew my July cash, picked up books at the library book sale and then borrowed a miter saw from my cousin!
So so so many deals on the books, I'll be sharing about that soon.
And, if I have all my fingers after working with the miter saw, I'll have some pictures of my new bench!

***FINAL UPDATE: 10 NSD*** Ladies, I deserve an award for pulling out a no spend yesterday. DH came home from work early because I had a meeting at 1p. He decided to drop me off and use my car to redeem their free lunch coupons they received as an award from the Summer Reading program at our library. Well, I was at my meeting and the power turned off. It was only realized after it started to get warm because no lights or electronics were on. Anyhow, DH cam to pick me up and he said the power was out all over the city 100,000 without power, including ours, AND because we left in such a hurry (running late due to a cut finger, missing shoe, and keys). We took the spare key (notice not keys as in with the house key attached) and used the garage door opener to get out. Funny thing about the garage door opener, they don't work when the power is out. UGH, we decided to go and look at model homes nearby. The power was on there for some reason. We spent about an hour there and then went home to check and it was still not on. We tried to find refuge in Wal-Mart and Target but the power was off there too and every other store in the area. We ran into another model home five miles east of us and they had 16 homes to look at. We did 10 out of 16. The power was off but they were comfortable. We drove back to our house again around 6ish and still no power. We started to get concerned about the food so DH found a way into our house and then came up with a plan for the fridge. He decided we were going to go to his work and get an RV and run an extension cord from the fridge and plug it into the generator. I went with it, it was too stressful of a situation to argue. Plus I was really worried because I'm doing this cash challenge and bought all the meat for the next six days and only have $25 left. I was scared I out food was going to be ruined. So we go to his work he gets this RV and we drive home. I followed him in my car and I decided to give the garage door opener a go and guess what it worked!!! The kids played in the RV and watched TV in there while I made dinner at home. I had only had oatmeal that day and was starving. I already started to think about where we were going to go get dinner, completely justified by the fact that we did not have power. Given the circumstances I think I could have justified going to eat after dealing with the power being off. It was 107 or so outside but there was a slight overcast making it tolerable. Rolling black outs throughout the city. Ours was off for five hours but my MIL was only off for an hour and we had friends who was off for 9 hours!! The moral of the story is I DID NOT SPEND A DIME!
See you in July
