[/size] Oh come on, that's just ridiculous. Now I know you don't really know football. He took two teams to the NFC championship after going on the road in the second round and beating the team [2001 @ Bears and 2008 @ Giants]. They shouldn't even have been in the NFC Championship to begin with and were clear under dogs. They were playing with house money. The team that lost to the Panthers had no business being in the playoffs, let alone the NFC championship. The defense got us there but were so banged up by the time the playoffs came. The leading receiver on the team that year was James Thrash with something stupid like 50 receptions....don't even get me started on his receivers for the 10 years he was with the Eagles. The one really bad game he had was that TB game. No excuse for it...other than it was his 2nd game back from a broken ankle...but I still expected them to win that game. I cried a tear from the 35 yard line as I watched Barber intercept and run it in for a TD. In the SB, the Eagles threw 51 times and McNabb had 357 yards and 3 TDs. Of his 3 int's, 1 of them was bad [to Harrison before the end of the half]. One was off the receivers hands [LJ Smith] and the other was a last second hail mary int. They ran the ball just 17 times. Game over. LJ's brick hands and his fumble as the Eagles were closing in on the 35 yard line were the two most costly plays of that game. McNabb kept them in the game. Without mentioning the effect that Spy Gate may have had, the Eagles got out coached. The Pats were able to successfully run a screen on every Eagles blitz in the 2nd half.

But my reasons for liking or not liking a team are often arbitrary.... I'm not sure I'm adding anything constructive to the discussion. I'll stop now. ...actually, it's astute to point out that being a fan does not require rationale... ...and I like the Redskins... as well as anybody who plays against Dallas... and they seem to do pretty well against them in Texas...

If you think about it, the Seahawks actually might have a chance. It's hard to beat the same team twice, and the Saints may be looking past this week. On top of that, it's in Seattle...might be a better game than people think. A really good call.

An excellent call. This one had me fooled. I mean the team gave up about 100 points more than the scored over the course of the season and were facing the Saints. I thought the Aints had it in the bag.

The Saints had given up, what, something like 11 touchdowns all season. Defense was non-existent. Indianapolis, no offense, no run defense, special teams pretty pathetic.

...yeah, Saints just let too many chances slip by... ...so did the Colts... ...and while I do like the Colts as another AFC team to support, despite not really wanting to face them next week, I would have preferred to see Baltimore face NE should they win today...

...if Packers win, they face Falcons, which should be interesting... ...I'm still fairly bummed that Colts lost yesterday and Ravens won today, because that means the Pats face the relatively-rested Jets and then would face a battered and bruised team should they host the championship...

Sigh. Things are looking bad for the Bears. 14-0 in the Packers favor? Maybe I should be happy I can't find any live video on the net for the game.

Now 14-7, Bears are on their 3rd (and last available) QB of the game. Cutler was sucking and is out with a knee injury. Collins was only throwing near picks. New guy (hoehne?) completed a pass to Knox and the next play Taylor ran it in. Erlacher has been playing great. 12 Mins in 4th

yeah, that didn't help, but he was far from stellar today anyhow. The 2nd offensive series for the new guy was worse than bad, but he's not getting much help from his O line. Packers aren't playing all that great right now either, they had an excellent first half though (as much as it pains me to admit).
