This bad attitude/melt down when I don't get what I want phase from E is going to pass--right? Because holy hell I'm so over it. I remember being glad we didn't do early enrollment kindergarten for her because of 3 rough mornings last year and thinking 1 more year would make this a breeze. I couldn't have been more wrong.
I know she saves it for me because of the great comments I get on her behavior from everyone else, but yeah...so over it.

I hope it ends soon, Rae and Sam. DD has been really clingy lately, and it’s driving me nuts. Literally wrapped herself around my legs this morning because she didn’t want me to go to work. Yeah, I’m looking for a new job, but it probably won’t have the flexibility this one has, so it’s not going to improve the amount of time I’m with her. DH bought a powerball ticket for Saturday, maybe I won’t have to go to work Monday at all. 😉

How old is Ant? From what I was told here they generally do not start therapy till around 4 or 5 unless your child has a diagnosed developmental issue such as autism. I am sure if you shop around enough you could find someone but what I was told is that starting earlier can actually do more harm than good because you interfere with normal development. Most parents don't catch it because we hear our kids every day and automatically translate. Since we translate kids aren't in any rush to progress because why fix what isn't broken? When he gets around other kids and has to compete to be understood his speech will likely explode. Our speech therapist said that the majority of kids age out of speech by second grade no matter when they start. "early detection" is only really beneficial if there are additional developmental issues. Regular kids with speech issues are just fine starting in preschool or kindergarten.
C started his speech therapy about halfway through K4 and finished up at the end of 2nd grade. He had issues with multiple sounds.

Its a dh bragging post!
Dh did a really good job cleaning the house yesterday, while he waited for the cable guy to not show up. Kitchen, both bathrooms, our room and the living room. He made breakfast this morning too. Scrambled eggs with stuff for him and me, sausages for C and K made muffins for herself.
Next up, he's taking my SUV in for an oil change while I take the kids school supply shopping.

YDD started speech in PreK. She is still in it and will most likely will be for a few more years. It runs in my family. Also signed YDD up for soccer. ODD is being salty because I am shutting her phone down at night. We have 1 more week before school so, it is time to start getting back into a sleep schedule for school. So yea right now it turns off at midnight this week, starting next week it will be 10. Apparently that makes me over protective. Also apparently I don't understand that staying up until 3 am is health for her... even if it isn't for me. Yea that was some of her logic...
We did go in Friday and walked through ODD classes, it went well. She said it didn't seem as bad as she thought it would be. Next week we will do the district meet the teacher night for YDD and hopefully ODD will go back and we can drop off some stuff. I do like her case manger better this year. She seemed more open to trying different strategies, as well as letting ODD go to a quite place (most likely the ISS room) to work independently when she needs too.
Tomorrow we are going to meet the ILs about 1.5 hours away. I don't love the fact that I found this out from YDD and not DH.

Today, Ir turned 7! Where does the time go?! She had a 4 friends over today for a small birthday water party and then we had my parents over to have dinner with us. At the end of each get together, she got cake! Overall, she had a great day!

Ugh, jet lag in. 23 month old is not fun for me. We landed back from Hawaii (5 hour time zone difference for us) on Friday morning. M went to sleep around midnight on Friday, closer to 1am on Saturday night (well, technically Sunday morning), and 1130pm tonight. I woke her up only a little later than normal this morning, she napped close to her normal time, so I was hoping tonight would be close to back to normal, but no dice, apparently. Hopefully she’s not too much of a beast at daycare tomorrow.

We were thinking to go to Salt Lake City's comicon, but I haven't planned anything, I'd have to pull them out of school to do it, and literally everything is happening that week, not to mention the 10 hour drive, hotels, etc. I finally managed to schedule a playdate with E's bff from from the dojo this weekend and his mom has a booth at a smaller comicon in Colorado Springs. Not nearly as good a line up obviously, but the kids could care less about Tim Curry and C thinks it's even better to go somewhere we will know someone with a booth. I'd like to get him writing more, so I'm going to try to get into one of the comic book workshops.
Now we're planning costumes. E wants to be the princess in black which I love. I had made a joke that dh and I could be Fiona and Shrek for halloween (mostly because dh was being an a$$ one weekend), but that theme has stuck and C wants to be Puss in Boots which should be fun. I need to get moving.

Thing 1 turns 21 in February. Over the weekend I asked her if she wanted me to take her to the bar. She said no and that I'm annoying when I'm drunk. I happen to think I'm fun. Oh well.

raeoflyte Cons are so fun, can't wait until I can start planning costumes with Ant! (for now he'll have to deal with what we pick for him lol) His first con he was about 4 months old, he wore a Star Trek TNG body suit and met Richard Dean Anderson Boston comic con is coming up but we're busy this weekend and honestly that has turned into a shitshow of crowds the last few years...

raeoflyte , if you do end up coming to SLC, I would love to meet up! Well even if we don't do comicon, that is where my home office is, so I'm there every few months. I didn't realize you were there. We will have to meet up!

I go back and forth between wanting to cry and wanting to punch things. They saw something on a CT scan. I had another seizure on Friday night while I was making dinner. I fell backwards and hit my head on the counter behind me. That was what prompted the CT scan. The person who reads the CT scans thought they saw something. No place around here does MRI's on the weekend, so I went home. Now I have to wait for insurance approval before they will schedule me one. I've been basically useless at work and home.

We have been going out to dinner with our kids for their birthdays for years. My DD was 21 in April. We went to dinner, and if I remember correctly, she did not have anything Alcoholic to drink.
We are going to Vegas together next week, but it is the Annual Trip I do with my Daughter and Mother. I had always intended to do a family trip to Vegas when DD turned 21 - we will see if I think I can afford another Vegas trip for all of us later this year.

Oh, dear, love! I can only imagine what you're going through. Waiting while something like this looms is pure torture so, of course, you're beside yourself - and you have every right to be. Here's hoping approval will be given quickly so you can have your fears relieved. In the meantime, we're here for you and you'll certainly be in my thoughts.
