It's MEDICAID, K, if you make less than $800/month you get it. Over that you're fecked. Under Obamacare, you get Medicaid up to 14K single, 29k family of four---over that, you get private plan with 90% subsidy, sliding down up to 88K family of four- GUARANTEED no matter what, and it'll be CHEAPER for the country than the Pub mess we have now, especially in the long run...WAKE UP!! ;D

I'm getting tired of your name calling, too, War. CBO has already said cost will go up under Obamacare. Availability of care will go down. Poor are already covered. People like me are covered for emergencies, which would INCLUDE the people that lose their jobs, etc. There is NO justification for the higher costs and lower care of Obamacare. It is just more redistribution, just like raising taxes. Nothing more. It's WRONG to take from people what they have worked for and deserve.

For example, you wearing the blinkers and listening to the doubletalking swine: Medical Bills - A Major Cause of Bankruptcy | Dallas - Fort ... Medical Bills: A Major Cause of Bankruptcy. In 1999, 500,000 people filed bankruptcy because ... when people lose their jobs, they also lose their health insurance. The ... www.markrubinlawyer.com/medical-bills-bankruptcy Is that rare- of course they lose their jobs fcs, or their insurance duh... So as your source you use a lawyers website? Medical Bills: A Major Cause of Bankruptcy In 1999, 500,000 people filed bankruptcy because they could not pay medical expenses, according to a study published May 2000 in Norton’s Bankruptcy Adviser. According to Harvard Professor Elizabeth Warren, who conducted the study, the problem stems from the U.S. health care system. The year 1999 was a year when a total of about one million people filed for bankruptcy protection. That means that fully 1/2 of those people who filed bankruptcy were people who could not pay all their medical expenses. While loss of work remains the number one cause of bankruptcy, “when people lose their jobs, they also lose their health insurance. The combination often creates a blow that families cannot recover from without bankruptcy.” The groups most often affected by medical debt include seniors, women and families, according to the study. People hardest hit by medical debt often have some insurance, but not enough to cover all the costs of treatment. Can’t pay all those bills? We’re here to help. Call today for a FREE Consultation. Call toll free to 1-800-LAWYERS. That's farking hilarious

Not sure whether the 750k number you quote is accurate but the Harvard study has already been proven incorrect. The study was formulated to direct people to certain responses. The authors lumped anyone who had a bankruptcy and ANY medical debt as going bankrupt because of medical bills.
The average medical bills on those bankruptcies in that study - about $20k. This should not bankrupt someone, especially when most people can negotiate direct with the doctor / hospital to pay off the debt, a lot of times at 0% interest. There were other contributing factors and likely irresponsible lifestyle choices. A medical issue was just the last domino.
There are changes we can and should make to our system but we've got the best one in the world and moving our system in the direction of Europe's will only be a failure; just like most other European and other UHC countries [and all of them that have any meaningful population].

If Obamacare is so good, why are so many big name outfits, like SIEU for instance, wanting out? These are not mom and pop street corner operators. They are national, with big bucks and lots more on the horizon, so why do they want to continue with such an unfriendly antique as what the country has today?
I looked at the OP link and they list by category over 3 million people who are exempted so far. If each of those people have a spouse and two children that's well over 12 million people who will not be required to use Obamacare. With an estimated 130 million working people in the US, it looks like almost 10 percent of them are already approved for opting out with applications for exemption still being accepted, and it's not even in effect yet.
I'd like to read a couple hundred words just as an introduction to their plan for providing their people with whatever Obamacare cannot provide.
Please, , , , anybody?
