Interesting! Since she claimed he chased her down the hall and attacked her there. See how the story keeps changing. She made the claim she walked into the room and he came out of the bathroom naked, she proceeded to leave and was walking down the hall of the hotel when he cam chasing her naked, knocking her down and trying to rape her. I wonder if she tried to scream so all the others on that floor could hear? First she claimed he tried to rape her anally, then she said he tried to force her to perform oral sex on him. Which one is it? Wait and see, Kreepy. Another assault victim said he came at her like a chimpanzee or some other simian. I hear you Marshabar. I don't think any details should ever be leaked to the media until the full investigation is done with and handed to a judge and jury to decide on it. For all we know, she could have cut herself in another room and dripped it in another one as she's cleaning rooms or doing whatever she does there. For me he's innocent until proven guilty, and should be released with a tracking device on his ankle and a guard outside his room at a hotel or wherever he would be staying and made to check in ever 2 hours. The female should be making all these statements without her attorney present and letting her attorney do all the talking. Her story is changing too much for me and is casting doubt on the entire incident she is claiming that happened.

By Nathan Spear
Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, was refused release on bail on charges of attempting to rape a hotel maid because he is considered a "flight risk." As this allegation emerged, prosecutors are working to verify similar previous incident reports on sex charges against him.
Although Strauss-Kahn's attorneys claimed his innocence of the charges against him, they failed in a bid for the bail. In France, his story is said to be more dramatic than the movies being exhibited at Cannes. Strauss-Kahn's weekend arrest has left the IMF in disarray and moreover, it may almost certainly end his presidential hopes. Strauss-Kahn was expected to pose a serious challenge to Nicolas Sarkozy's re-election bid in the 2012 French presidential election.
This is not the first time Strauss-Kahn is caught up in a sex scandal. In France, a lawyer said his client, a novelist, is likely to file a criminal complaint accusing the IMF chief of sexually assaulting her nine years ago. A French lawmaker has also accused him of attacking other maids during previous stays at the Sofitel luxury hotel in New York.
According to the latest victim, a 32 year old maid, when she entered Strauss-Kahn's $3000 per night suite, thinking it was empty, Strauss-Kahn, naked, came out suddenly from the bathroom and chased her before violently groping her breasts, tearing off her bra and pantyhose, and then forced her to perform oral sex. The maid struggled and was able to break free and escaped with minor injuries. She then reported the sexual assault to the hotel management who in turn alerted the police.
Defense attorney Benjamin Brafman defended Strauss-Kahn saying that his client voluntarily worked with the authorities in a forensic examination. There is also testimony that Strauss-Kahn was not trying to flee the scene before the police arrived. Rather he was rushing to catch a booked Air France flight to Paris, because he was late. Brafman also said that Strauss-Kahn had told the authorities of his whereabouts at the airport after the hotel security called him. Strauss-Kahn was arrested in Air France's first class cabin right before the plane was taking off to Paris.
The prosecutors requested the court to deny Strauss-Kahn bail suggesting that he was a "flight risk," because he would make a flee to France to avoid extradition. France does not have any extradition treaty with the US.
The allegations and photos of a handcuffed Strauss-Kahn has left France in shock. Supporters such as the Socialist party leader Martine Aubry described the event as "profoundly humiliating and were of unbearable cruelty." Environment minister Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet commented "It's so French to see conspiracies everywhere, it's something in our culture I think."
Supporters of Strauss-Kahn are denouncing the recent turn of events, suspecting his rivals to have conspired a smear campaign to foil his presidential bid next year.

Marshabar, yesterday she reported he tried to rape her anally. Early this morning at the doctor's office I read a story where she claimed she went into the room, he came out of the bathroom naked, she turned around and left, and as she was walking down the hallway he came running after her, knocking her down and tried to rape her.
Too many stories floating around. We really have no idea on which one is real or not. When I saw his face in the pic, I didn't see any brusing or scratch marks on it, and if they found blood in the room, you would think there would be some blood on him as well. Regardless if he tried to wash it off. They can still find traces of blood in a sink, skin, towels etc.
It strikes me a bit odd that they arrest him at an airport if they reported it to the police immediately after if happened. The hotel has security there, why didn't they detain him until the police arrived? It's not some flebag hotel you know. And where are the video tapes of the hallway where she said he attacked her as well?

OK, LET'S SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON WHAT WE DO KNOW. The IMF announced the room was paid by him personnally and the room rate was $525 a night, not $3,000 a night. That is the only known fact at this time, other than Lakhota's claim he is a Jewish pervert.

I'm just glad for anything that opens the IMF can of worms and trips them up even slightly. Don't forget, we American taxpayers are being bled to bail out Greece at Strauss-Kahn's direction.
Nice to see someone who thinks he owns the world facing a little real world reality. Like a holding cell in Harlem.
Gives me pleasure.

That is the only known fact at this time, other than Lakhota's claim he is a Jewish pervert. Well the woman did say he chased her down the hallway, dragged her back to his room and tried to rape her. You would think that someone or one of the cameras in the hallway would have heard or videotaped it. Not to mention he and his daughter said they were having dinner together. I want to know where the hell the video tape is from that floor. All the evidence should be right there to prove her case. Why didn't she scream, bite him, leave bite marks on him, scratches and stuff like that on him if she was fighting him off. I still think it's a bit odd that the security at the hotel didn't hold him until the police arrived. You shoplift at a Walmat, they cuff your ass and call the police, this man allegedly rapes a woman and the security lets him walk out the front of the hotel doors to the airport. A long time ago, a friend of mine hooked up with the wrong woman. She inflected bruises on herself and accused him of assault because he didn't want to have a thing to do with her. There are women like that out there. He spent months in jail because of her lying ass, and then she retracted her story after they requested for her to take a lie-detector test. She declined and dropped all charges, but she ruined his life and career. He went back to Chili and said to hell with America.

Where is your hallway link? I've read several accounts with little variation. Did you post that here?

news.yahoo.com/s/ap/imf_head_assaultThe 32-year-old maid told authorities that she thought the suite was empty but that Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bathroom naked, chased her down a hallway, pulled her into a bedroom and dragged her into a bathroom, police said.He grabbed her breasts, tried to pull down her pantyhose, grabbed at her crotch and forced her to perform oral sex on him during the encounter at about noon, according to a court complaint. She ultimately broke free, escaped the room and told hotel staffers what had happened, authorities said. She was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. "The victim provided a very powerful and detailed account of the violent sexual assault," Assistant District Attorney John "Ardie" McConnell said. He added that forensic evidence may support her account. Strauss-Kahn voluntarily submitted to a forensic examination Sunday night. Brafman said defense lawyers believe the forensic evidence "will not be consistent with a forcible encounter." Defense lawyers wouldn't elaborate, but Brafman said "there are significant issues that were already found" that make it "quite likely that he will be ultimately be exonerated." I thought the blood was on the bed, but according to her story, he dragged her into the bathroom. See how the stories are changing too much. We really do not know exactly what transpired in there. all we are reading are different versions of a story that she has told to too many people.

I worked at a 5 star hotel, Kreepy. These rich people are hard to deal with, and these fancy places are VERY careful about appearances. I've seen bizarre things they have done. Twice saw dead bodies hauled off through the loading dock so other guests would not see cops or ambulances. Those were just heart attacks, not even crimes.

When I worked as a waiter at a restaurant/bar, I had women from time to time grab my crotch, squeeze my nice firm buns and offered me a good time. I laughed it off and went on my merry way.

She got hurt, Kreepy. There is evidence in the room of when he tackled her and she got scraped up, plus blood from her injuries on the bed. EVIDENCE. He tried more than once to get her. Her story is consistent with the evidence. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/imf_head_assaultThe 32-year-old maid told authorities that she thought the suite was empty but that Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bathroom naked, chased her down a hallway, pulled her into a bedroom and dragged her into a bathroom, police said.He grabbed her breasts, tried to pull down her pantyhose, grabbed at her crotch and forced her to perform oral sex on him during the encounter at about noon, according to a court complaint. If she's legal or not and if he did in fact tried to rape her, she still has rights.

That one account of the story seems to be different from the others. Seems he was chasing her, so who knows?

That one account of the story seems to be different from the others. Seems he was chasing her, so who knows? The account will change day to day. Remember, the President and his staff were listening and watching live, the attack on OBL, and they gave out incorrect information for three days, before they could get their stories straight. And these were seasoned public speakers, not a hotel maid.

I've read some interesting facts:
1. Strauss-Kahn left a cell phone and other personal items in the room when he left. 2. Strauss-Kahn was NOT scheduled to leave, but made a last-minute cash purchase of the plane ticket which suggests he was fleeing the jurisdiction. 3. (I knew this) The United States DOES NOT have an extradition treaty with France. 4. The hotel maid is a 32 year old long-time employee in good standing with no obvious financial problems or motives.
The personal items and apparent attempt to flee doesn't look good. I wouldn't want to be an attorney for a guy caught and dragged off a flight out of the country...

I never understood the "forced oral sex" rapes. Do women not have the sense to bite down hard and tear that thing off? I'm pretty sure the right woman could actually walk a man all the way to the precinct by his tiny little French member if she just had the presence of mind to do it.
My wife learned in a self defense class not to resist, but to go along-- for two reasons, often the attacker will lose interest if a woman is too willing; and second, if you can get the man to let down his guard you may be able to get into position to crush the grapes.

Not to convict the guy before he is tried, but I am having a good laugh at the thought of this probable rapist rich power guy sitting in Riker's Island... Innocent people do not usually run like that. I mean, seriously, did he think it was a role playing rape scenario set up for him by ....someone?? Please............

In my life of wonderful experiences with men I have had 3 bad experiences. Did not fight, but I DID walk away in one physical piece. This stuff can be tricky. Can't even imagine how tricky when the man involved is a power player and you are an employee at a high $$$ hotel. Gutsy lady. Just the fact that he ran seems to me it must have been a bad one. Not just giving in, but BAD, which is why they have evidence from not only the woman, but the bed and the carpet.

Ha! This guy is Socialist Royalty. King of the World. Wheeeeeeeee!!!!!!(Reuters) - Dominique Strauss-Kahn faced pressure from European officials to quit as head of the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday after he spent his first night in a notorious New York jail. With the IMF in turmoil following the arrest of its managing director on criminal charges including attempted rape, China and Brazil challenged Europe's grip on the Fund's top job. In France, many Socialist leaders voiced outrage at the way Strauss-Kahn, a front runner for the French presidency, had been paraded handcuffed and unshaven by U.S. police before he has had a chance to defend himself in court. But two European finance ministers questioned the viability of Strauss-Kahn's continued leadership of an institution that is central to efforts to steady the world economy. www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/17/us-strausskahn-arrest-idUSTRE74D29F20110517

The Polanski case is much more complex than as commented on here, and there are many reasons to think he paid enoughbefore he fled a crazy judge 40 years ago, after serving time and being freed, before the judge (and prosecutor) decided he needed MORE publicity. The French are easy on consensual affairs, not rape. Does anyone listen to Rush anymore?- seems to be a disgusting gossip these days- he needs more rehab...

I do think our prosecutors , police, some judges, and prison guards should let the law do the punishing, not take the law into their own hands. Goes for people and other prisoners too. The law is sacred, and is enough. Also, when they serve their time they should not be punished for the rest of their lives.

that's fair, France is pretty sketchy with extradition. I forgot about that. Isn't that where they kept Polanski at all these years knowing that he drugged and raped a little girl. He was in Switzerland.

I heard on the news from his current and past wives he was married to saying he is a charmer, loves to charm women and would never attack another woman. They also stated after the alleged attack, he went to lunch with his daughter, not directly to the airport as stated to make it look as if he was running from this alleged crime, and the did prove he did have lunch with hos daughter at the restaurant they were at. Doesn't look like a guilty man on the run to me.
I think there is going to be a lot more stories out there to try and make him look guilty, but I don't think any man after trying to rape a woman would get all dressed up and go out to lunch right after an alleged rape.
He had plenty of time to have fled the US if this did actually happen, but instead, he goes to lunch with his daughter, and then heads for the airport afterwards.

Cops showed up at the place my friend works and arrested a man who allegedly committed a rape during his lunch break.
A supervisor at DH's work got arrested by the FBI for a child porn ring. He said it was just like the movies where the men in black come and the guy disappears.
If they don't think they will get caught why would they run?
