Weekends here normally stink. It seems a lot of our posters must post from work, or busy with kids or something. When I used to work in property management in apt. complexes I would sometimes get time here and there because I did not like having work on my desk, so plowed through it immediately rather than pacing myself for 8 hours. That was pre-computers. Some jobs have BORING time.

That was pre-computers. Some jobs have BORING time. I suppose a receptionist would have a lot of down time. I think our receptionist when I sold real estate played solitaire a lot. I've never had a job that wasn't pretty active. Time is money, gotta get new leads, follow old leads, write contracts, get deals closed, schmoozee schmoozee ad infinitum. Never read a book for pleasure for ten years until things were sort of going on their own and I could relax. A little. I love being retired. Lots of genealogical research and not much more shaken' except having fun keeping up with the news and learning more about the way the world works.

Apparently, this was addressed to me.
Yes, it is a great job and I love it. In fact, I love both my jobs! I'm a nurse practitioner. I'm also the administrative nursing supervisor at a hospital. I work twelve hour nights, either acting as nursing supervisor, or acting in lieu of the hospitalist who is home, fast asleep in his/her bed. You can get the job quite easily, really. Just get the education, pass the necessary licensing tests, and you're all set, marshabar.
You won't see me posting while I'm at work. These sites are blocked on our work computers. I could take a laptop, but I wouldn't have time to post anyway, for the most part.

Heh. You asked how you got a job like this. That's how it's done. As far as I know, you have the education to perform your job, but to get a job like mine (which IS, after all, what you asked), you'd have to go back to school. That simple. No personal slight. Just an answer to your direct question, marsha.

Sheesh, nice job, are you at work now? Where do I get a job like that? ... You can get the job quite easily, really. Just get the education, pass the necessary licensing tests, and you're all set, marshabar..... ... Wow just asking. . . Why would you imply I should get an education? Ouch. You asked, she answered, you got offended.

Oh good heavens, there I go being all sensitive again. Can't figure out why I'm all sensitive like that. Just always curious about people with jobs who post a lot. I imagine them as attendants or receptionists or air traffic controllers. LOL I know I waste a hell of a lot of time reading news and trying to discuss it with interested parties at political forums.
Thanks for your interest, billis.

I sorta, kinda get the feeling there was a bit of passive/aggressive game-playing involved, billis. That kind of game only works on the sort of person who can be "egged on". It never works on me.

Yes dear Marsha, ice hockey. First time out in 45 days. The young guys almost wore me down to immobility.

How do you put a personal pic in, anyway?? Go to the Welcome "sub-board how-to" - "adding a picture" thread. I used the reply #6 method and it worked for me (actually I used/learned this at 1 this morning thanks to a little insomnia).

How do you put a personal pic in, anyway?? Second line down on [reply] page at area. Hit the (Browse) link and it should connect to your computer's photo application. Now don't go crazy! ;D

it is better to host the photo on photobucket/imageshack or wherever instead of doing it as an uploaded attachment from your computer though - for 2 reasons. 1. when you do an attachment, the photo will stay even if you delete your post. 2. attachments use up space in our little slice of the proboard server pie. if you host them elsewhere, then post it using the code, it does not.

Pic too big... I don't know how to shrink it. I have that problem with my new camera. Tisses me oft. The only way I know to remove some of the pixels is to crop the photo until it's small enough. There may be a way to remove resolution but I don't know it.

Oh, well, no biggies. I wanted to show you my grandbabies, but I hear bad guys do things with pics, so probably best not to.

I live 20 minutes from Indiana Dunes state Park and the Indiana National Lakeshore on Lake Michigan. Most people in the area pretty much take it for granted, and yet people from all over the world come to visit and study them. Use the state park for weekday getaways, as weekends are just overwhelmed by Chicagoans. I, myself prefer the Rocky Mountains for vacations. So vast and easy to get lost from the people.
