The official announcement seems to have come that the MSN boards will be shut down. This is a big shame because the tool they are migrating to, "bundle" seems to be "too much".
Poking around, it seems like one of those article-based communities, which is fine but doesn't place focus on the forum posts. It will be hard to have discussions via comment.
Hopefully the "new features" being promised will rectify this so we will see, but I think once the real MSN boards close down, the chips will fall where they will and people will be whereever people will be.
At least with a lot of people setting up "fallback" places, we'll be able to keep in touch with most of the members.

Yeah, I'll poke around on the bundle site but am not holding out a lot of expectations right now.

Let's just make sure that we encourage people to make the move over here right away. Here we can carry on with just about the same features.

WWBG - I poked around a little bit too and I DO NOT like the look or feel of Bundle. I'm glad to see this site so I can least focus on what I want to read and not have to wade through a lot of garbage and busy graphics to find it.

Right, bundle seems to be focused too much around the articles. I know for this forum I am very set in my ways. I don't want to have to center every discussion in the comments section.
At least proboards won't hog a huge chunk of real estate at the top and left of the page.

I am not a poker. I refuse to poke. Why don't we just stay in one place like here. BTW can Archie be NOT a MOD here?

I signed up for Bundle but it seems cumbersome. Hope everyone hops over here!

I'm not a fan of the Bundle site. I prefer this format. Bundle looks like it's trying to be a bit slicker than it needs to be.

Amen to that! I have HUGE social networking fatigue. I'm tired of every site thinking they have to have a FB/Twitter/digg widget on it. There are only so many communities I can be a part of at one time.

I'm also in the not a fan of Bundle camp. Article comment sections, which is really what those are not a real message board, always turn into a forum for weirdos to vent instead of actual discussions. You've also got the pre moderated and approved message thing going on, which introduces so much delay between the comments that it'll be next to impossible to have a conversation.

I could not figure out anything on the Bundle site. I don't comment much but I enjoy reading these boards!

Bundle should be called "bungle." Bing sucked and bundle sucks. How can MSN take a successful financial board and throw it away. They need to quit buying start-ups and just stick with what actually works for them.
p.s. Where is my WCP??

Simple and to the point. Wouldn't expect anything less from the Oracle.

I'm old and retired, and us old folks don't like change. I refuse to read an article then post comments about it. I want to click on a thread that has an interesting intro to it, then read.
I'll just pull up my rocker then get a nice cup of hot tea and settle in here. Oh WAIT...afghan, I need my afghan!!!!

Horrible site in my opinion. Don't know how they get the opinion editors but they sucked.

Another negative vote for Bundle. I couldn't figure out how to navigate it ... and it seems very cluttered. This format? I understand it. I like it.

I remember when the boards moved over to the new MSN format, lots of people hated it plus there were startup issues with speed. I think the loss of the boards is however a major one. They provided a social network as well as a way to answer individual's questions (sometimes not as they were hoping).

Ain't that the truth? lol.
I'm glad you made it too kgb. I'm not into Twitter or FB so I need a forum to talk to people.

Not a fan. There are a ton of gateway offerings already. The only angle I can see with Bundle is gathering data for some statistical offerings - a la Facebook carte. I don't participate so I don't really care what other statistical angles they'll publish - one, because it is only based on what people willingly offer, and two there is no guarantee that it is anywhere near statistically accurate. I rarely tell the truth on those types of things. Forums and message boards are what I am looking for, in this case - about Money. Opinions shared, anecdotes given, discussion and debate. Not something trite like generic articles - if they are going to be offering something of meat they certainly haven't supplied anything, yet. They have already lost my interest. I don't post often, but I do read often. So, here's hoping this board can develop into an offering of situations about money (family, investing, real estate, depreciating assets, appreciating assets, wages, taxes, just about anything). Quick question, though. How simple would it be to be able to do spell checks within this board? Always nice to have that spell check option rather than having to do it outside.
