Quick question, though. How simple would it be to be able to do spell checks within this board? Always nice to have that spell check option rather than having to do it outside. You have to hit the reply button, instead of doing a quick reply. There's a spell check option on that page.

I, too, checked out Bundle and am NOT impressed. Has all the old issues and WAAAY more that my old computer and CHEAP ISP had w/msn.
I am very glad to see a bunch of old posters have migrated here. this is MUCH easier to use and has features old msn did not.

Went there, looked around, ran away screaming with my head held in my hands... I found it ver difficult to navigate and less than user friendly.

I didn't like it but its always possible they might be taking their time to make it more friendly to former MSNers.
I won't go back though until someone posts its more user friendly.

I tried Bundle again today, and just can't find forums and posts like I'm used to. I find a lot of really shallow/generic articles, but no real question-and-answer sort of sections. And no itemized list of user-created thread topics. YUCK.

I hate it a little less each time I visit. That isn't saying much. I still haven't registered or posted and I'm not sure that I will.
I'm not entirely adverse to an article-based format. If the articles were decent, that would provide some grist for discussion. Has anyone here seen such an article?
The painfully upbeat mods/editors/employees are a little off-putting.

With all the negative comments about Bundle, why bother to go to that site. I like this board already! Merry Christmas to all!

Simple and to the point. Wouldn't expect anything less from the Oracle. Oh yeah -- do I get to keep my title? Would it become the O of NMSN? (I couldn't do the O of NYM, because people might mistake that for the mets). OofYMRC...The Oracle of Your Money Refugee Camp

It's very easy. Don't use the "Quick Reply" button. Choose the button that says "Reply" at the button right of the string of posts. There you'll get a box that allows you to type, spell check, put things in quotes, use emoticons, etc.

Bundle made me want to scratch my eyes out. Too much.
I'm agile, but not flexible. Change sucks. This is much better.

I can understand that whole thing about how posts/comments must be moderated until a poster has earned his/her rights. Most other forums I've been a part of, your first 5-10 posts had to be approved by a moderator before you earned free and clear posting rights. Obviously this was to stop spammers from registering, spamming, and leaving. 5-10 quality posts is way too much effort for most spammers, or even spam bots. By the way, did you know that if you take 6 dollars, and send one dollar to each of the people on this list...

It's so refreshing to see the message boards expanded to the full page again. My claustrophobia is healed!

if i am understanding the bundle board correctly, there have been around 5 original posts from everyday internet users in the last two weeks. we've already beat that over here on pro-boards in just a couple days. of course, i keep getting webpage loading errors over on bundle, which i doubt is my fault.

Any ideas to steer other new users to this site? It's WAY better than Bundle... Can we post on YM (and/or Bundle) our information? I know it's been on some of the YM threads. Any other ideas?

I remember when the boards moved over to the new MSN format, lots of people hated it plus there were startup issues with speed. I think the loss of the boards is however a major one. They provided a social network as well as a way to answer individual's questions (sometimes not as they were hoping). Only sometimes?

The lack of a discussion board like we had makes it a no go for me.

Your Money, It looks like my first impression was about the sames as the groups... There is something funny going on and they did not give us a lot of time to ramp up anything...

...:::"":::... HUGE social networking fatigue Thanks for finding the words for me! I'm actually on Facebook hiatus. I cannot stand to be so connected to people. I'm a loooong time lurker, lunch-break enjoyer of the old boards. Sooo shocked to come back from a (paid-for) vacay and see the news. Thanks to all the folks who quickly set this up and got things moving. On-Topic: I visited Bundle just now and found it appalling. They had an article on how to create ornaments from sardine cans as gifts. Ugh.

Darn. We didn't put up a tree at all, so missed the chance to have sardine can ornaments hanging along with our dryer lint ornaments. If only I had paid attention to Bungle.

Hi everyone — I'm Mike, Bundle's editor.
I've been reading through the comments concerns on the forum and from my e-mails (I invited anyone who was interested in asking me questions to e-mail me at miked@bundle.com) and agree that the site isn't as user-friendly as it should be right now. So, I've gathered all your thoughts and am working with my team to get the site as user-friendly as possible. We're a new site, so it'll take some time to get changes implemented. These changes include: making posts go through post-moderation instead of pre-moderation, making things like threading easier, and posts more easier to search by topic and author/user. I get that a lot of you have already been turned off by the Bundle's current functionality, and will go elsewhere. That makes sense of course — I just hope you'll visit again when we've become better suited for user posting, etc.
We're partnered with MSN, which means we get plenty of visits from MSN-ers. We also get visitors from other financial websites like TheStreet, and places like the wedding site The Knot, who we are also partnered with, and get visitors from many other sites as well. I mention this because I think it's important to note that we get a broad mass of people who will visit Bundle, of all ages and all viewpoints, which will be important as we build our community because it means fresh eyes and fresh blood/new voices contributing to the conversation about how we spend and save our money. Our community is small, but it's growing.
We're also planning on building new tools — tools to help you pay down your debt, figure out mortgage payments, etc. So check back again sometime if you haven't completely given up on us yet.
And thank you to those who sent me notes about ways to make us better. I'll continue working with you to make us a better money management site.
Thanks very much,
Mike Dang Editor, Bundle.com miked@bundle.com
