One more to the list of anti-military types here so be prepared for some extreme and radical posts about our military again..or try to defend the actions of Pfc Manning..

This is just a continuation of the same crap from both sides. Neither know the true answer and never will so they spend time and energy warming our planet attacking each other instead of doing something of mutual benefit to our world. In Trump's defense he asked some very intelligent questions about why a "smart man" like Obama has failed to put this little issue to bed after two and a half years of avoiding the issue and allowing it to fester. Secondly I would hope that everyone on this board would agree that since there is a constitutional requirement that must be met it should be the states duty to pass laws that define the procedure and than enforce it before anyones name goes on their ballot in the future.

Birther issue is a racist issue?? Somehow that argument doesn't make sense because 1 out of 4 people polled recently about this issue believe Obama is not a natural born US Citizen and they are NOT all racist just a few of us are in case you are wondering.. I know a lot of folks who believe Obama was born in Kenya with an American mother and Kenyan father who are NOT rasicst...but probably believe what they want to believe..I guess??

Jan Brewer is creepy looking as hell. Age and a lack of plastic surgery can do that to a woman. May you live long enough and be secure enough in your own skin to be as "creepy looking" as well so day.

So, the people that questioned John McCain's natural born citizen status (he was born in Panama) are racists? Wow! Thanks for clearing that up. I thought for a second people might actually be concerned about the law and the Constitution. Welcome back!!!

Lakhota-as you have been away for a while, please familiarize yourself with the following post from the General Board. This also serves as a reminder to all the other posters too.

Announcement- P&M Duplicate Threads « Thread Started on Mar 30, 2011, 13:22 »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello all. Recently there have been some cases of many duplicate threads on here all repeating the same thing. Threads which simply reiterate something already posted on page one will be deleted, and if appropriate, their contents moved to the existing thread. If there is one thread about "Obama's Illegal war", for instance, that is fine. However if another thread pops up with a similar theme, it will be deleted. Please note I said "similar". This does not just apply to Obama of course, but to any subject matter. Hopefully this won't have to be done often (or at all) but it will keep the board cleaner and easier to read. Deminmaine- Moderator ETA- Copied to the General board. Please note this JUST applies to the Politics and the Markets Board.

And this one should also be revisisted:
The short version: Treat your fellow posters with courtesy and respect. This means no personal attacks, racial slurs, stalking, etc.
* Profanity is permitted as long as it's not excessive.
* No spam or petitions will be allowed. These will be deleted at the least, and further action may be taken depending on the situation .
*If you have an article from an outside source to share, DO NOT copy and paste it in its entirety! You may paste a short excerpt to make your point, and then provide a link for the remainder. The reasoning for this is that if someone is not interested in reading the article, it's rude to make them scroll past it all.
*Only ONE account per person will be allowed. If you want to multi-nick, go elsewhere. Anyone using more than one account will be banned with no warning. This will also include regular members who post as a Guest using a different name. At mod discretion, there may be a rare exception to this. Questions should be directed to moonbeam. Screen name changes are permitted.

I must admit.......... any and all questions to Ms Moonbeam are all answered and you may not like here answers but she does respond and does try her damnest to treat everyone here on her board with due respect despite our poltical views, age, natural origin, and BTW the Marines are her favorites... according to my highly unreliable sources on the EE Board..

But also remember, if one post thoughts here, it is a chat forum, one has to expect responses from others, even those who just might have a difference in feelings of others "despite our poltical views,", that is to be excepted and accepted, with out constant complaining to higher authorities , that gets so old at times, at least for some posters here.

OP, I think you and any Democrats or others who think the birther issue is racist miss the mark. The birther issue exists primarily as a political way to discredit Obama and get rid of him before the next election. Not seeing that as the primary thrust makes those that use the race card ineffective at best.
The second reason the birther issue has legs is it feeds on the fears Republicians have been cultivating of fear of all Muslims. Its not a coincidence that both Kenya and Indonesia have significant Muslim populations and the Birthers exploit that. You could more accurately call this as Religionist issue, but again since the goal is flinging doubt to get Obama unelected or truthfully not elected again it needs to be addressed and attacked on that level. Pure racism and religion arguments will fail.
Proof of birth has been given, but since so many on the right want Obama to be gone a significant number of them will never accept any proof given because they want one of their guys as President too much.

Am I to conclude that you believe that "we" are "descended from apes"? Nothing I've seen in this thread supports the title "The Obama BIRTHER issue is a RACIST issue! I'm inclined to believe that the "birther" issue is of more harm than help to the conservative cause and this issue has been beaten to death. Donald Trump is a publicity whore and is simply keeping his name in the news to promote his reality show. I do believe that Obama, liberals, etc. are glad to keep the "birther" issue alive because it works to their advantage.

I will say Trump's adoption of the birther issue has made me lose a lot of respect for him. It tells me he is very willing to use untruths to win but I should have suspected that from his books. I bet the conversations he had with bankers when he successfully got them to fold or lend him more money involved lots of untruths used to shock, scare, and manipulate.

I have a lot of respect for moon. Lak-- one thing.. did you see my post on the Bachmann thread about the long forms issued from Hawaii at the exact time Obama was born? I scrolled through pages and pages of search, then hit snopes and fact check. No one debunked that story, or the 2 long forms the Mom of the babies has in her possession. Considering the amount of publicity generated by those 2 Hawaii BCs, and that they were not debunked, I can only assume that is a true report, and that long forms are on file. Since I know the POTUS has the power to demand whatever the heck he wants I can only assume he does not want the long form exposed. Why not? What say you?
(Helpful hint-- if you have BAD relationships on other boards with Mods on this board just follow the rules, ignore them, keep your guard up, never turn your back, and deal directly with moon if you absolutely HAVE to. But she gets mad when we act like babies, so lay low. Good luck!)

I do believe that Obama, liberals, etc. are glad to keep the "birther" issue alive because it works to their advantage. It doesn't hurt that's for sure. For the most part, those who really are into it are never going to be his supporters, and for those few who just might use the argument to not vote for him, and just might have considered him, because of the way we elect our POTUS , electoral college, I will take it, though would love all those votes for him, but actually feel that since our voter turnout really sucks % wise, many of those probably will not not anyway, just to much trouble. Apes, well first there was that soupy stuff, and then cells and all that and some of the collaboration kind of got together and crawled onto the land and a few stayed there and then ..and then the apes..and then..yep methinks so, but still, one never knows. Mom and Dad had this idea of storks and stuff..

I just got a new short form copy off mine from TX-- they switched in the last few years since I ordered the last one. They got my Mom's name wrong on this new one...So, some worker somewhere altered my Mom's name?? My official document of birth??? First there was the story that his original was lost in a fire.. that changed to.. no,it was not lost in a fire... then to "I have seen it. He was born in Hawaii, no more questions.." SO-- what is in the darned BC that is so flammable it can't be seen?? Or is it really not there, no one knows why, so Hawaii just took his word based on an old news announcement that could have been put in by grandparents?? There was another story that he was born en route to Hawaii in a plane..?? In which case no attending physician?? What IS it in there that is suspect??

What's quite ironic is the fact that while some claim this is a dead issue that needs to be forgotten about look who started a brand new thread on the topic. Here are a couple of points that could get us all off of dead center. Does our constitution detail the requirements for someone to be eligible for this office? Yes Have the states been checking to make this sure this requirement has been meet? No Should they start doing this? Yes Is it racist to ask that this requirement be met? No Has Obama done a poor job of dealing with this mess? Yes
