It also means she isn’t an idiot which is what scgal and conservatives have been saying about her, since she “held her own” with Trump. But I guess claiming illegal inmigrants stealing pets and eating them, delusional as that is, is not disqualifying. Imagine the hew and cry if Biden said that at the last debate. People would rightfully say he clearly has advanced dementia, but Trump gets a pass. Unbelievable. "That's just Trump being Trump!"

"That's just Trump being Trump!" Complete and total nonsense. I am tired of him being graded on a curve Given that Trump is barely literate, easily manipulated, and prone to moronic thoughts and speech, the problem is not that Trump is graded on a curve. It is that so many people can't tell or don't care that he is a moron.

It would have been a better debate if Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow would have been the moderators. Sean would ask Harris questions and Maddow would ask Trump. That would be interesting. We would get straight honest answers on policies which we still don't know from Harris.
What she did say she was just parroting the Biden policy. Nothing really as to her policies.

You are ok with Trump’s nonsense about immigrants eating pets, having no hess as lard plan, and denying any responsibility for January 6 and not condemning their actions? His behavior was presidential? Trump has no platform, but you are criticizing Harris for not having her plans fleshed out. Completely ridiculous

But would we get straight, honest answers from Trump? His policies as mentioned in the debate were rather lite - David Muir asked and re-asked Trump several questions, and gave up when it was clear Trump wouldn't answer THAT question, just go off on unrelated tangents.

Hey, Harris whiffed on policy answers also. Its called being a politician. She's not without sin. She dodged some questions also and didn't give answers.

Bless your pet eating, Trump loving, cult member heart. . Curious if you are capable of self reflection. It does not appear so.

Trump didn't do as well as I hoped. I'll give the debate 60/40 Harris. Who got the 60? Who got the 40?

I've heard less crazy things come out of the mouths of dementia patients at my grandma's nursing home.
He said there are Haitian people eating dogs. Eating dogs.
On national television.
And doubled down when called out.
The fact anyone thinks Trump was brilliant and just being a suave non answer politician is really scary

Trump’s healthcare policy: “We’re signing a health care plan within two weeks, a full and complete health care plan that the Supreme Court decision on DACA gave me the right to do,” Trump said during that interview on July 19 (2020). link “I have concepts of a plan. I’m not President right now, but if we come up with something, I would only change it if we come up with something that’s better and less expensive. And there are concepts and options we have to do that, and you’ll be hearing about it in the not too distant future.” link

I caught the last part of the debate, and didn't intend to watch any, but Trump did sound pretty ridiculous with most of what he said. I didn't really pay attention to this last night, but from the pictures I've seen today I think I may have identified Trump's best debate attribute. He was apparently wearing a new hairpiece that makes it look like he actually has hair on top now. Good for you, Donald.

Why Hannity? Why Maddow? Why?? Maddow is a rabid anti Trump lefty and Hannity is a rabid anti Harris righty. I've seen both of their shows. What better pair could you ask for. They would ask pointed direct questions and call BS if they wavered at all.

It doesn't matter what it is, if it doesn't 's way, he's base is convinced it was rigged or unfair. One excuse after another for his poor performance. And I thought Republicans were the party of taking responsibility for your actions. Guess that changed when Trump became their leader. Now it is blame and play the victim.

The Borowitz Report
Putin Upset to See Someone Else Controlling TrumpMOSCOW (The Borowitz Report)—Vladimir Putin was “totally despondent” after witnessing someone other than himself control Donald J. Trump for ninety minutes, a Kremlin source said on Thursday. “For years, President Putin has taken great pride in his ability to manipulate Trump like a silly, dancing marionette,” the source said. “To see someone else do it, and so effortlessly—well, it was a bitter pill for him to swallow.” The morning after the extraordinary spectacle, Putin was “still baffled” as to how this person was able to dictate Trump’s behavior with the simplest and most obvious of prompts, the source said. ”It was hard to watch,” Putin reportedly said. “But she was right about me eating him for lunch. That was a good one.” Putin Upset to See Someone Else Controlling Trump

Do you believe the feelings are mutual?

Have you seen the outrage by the far right that the ABC moderators fact checked Trump on his statements about post birth executions and migrants eating pets? Apparently the MAGA crowd don’t want any fact checking or push back from the moderators at all. Just ask the questions. Otherwise you’re being unfair to Trump.

What you have suggested would be side by side interviews, not a debate. And while interesting, I don't think it would have the resulting "straight honest answers" you indicate would result.

So this is fun. Laura Loomer, the MAGA loon who helped Trump prepare for the debate (and who never met a conspiracy theory she doesn’t believe (including 9-11 being an inside job) posted racist comments about Harris. Of all people, MTG replied back, calling Loomer racists and saying MAGA was better than that. (Really?) Loomer replied back in a tirade. dailyboulder.com/maga-unravels-marjorie-taylor-greene-calls-laura-loomer-a-racist-loomer-fires-back-with-a-torrent-of-explosive-revelations/The most polite thing she called MTG was a trailer trash harpy (strange, since MTG comes from an upper middle class family, butI guess if you’re from Georgia you’re trailer trash). Trump seems to like to surround himself with angry conspiracy theory nut jobs. I wonder how the debate would have gone if he had instead surrounded himself with actual conservative policy wonks, since he seems to be a sponge that just repeats back the last thing anyone told him.

I was watching a documentary on cults and they were talking about how all cults at some point go so far and so deep into the crazy pool that people start to wake up and go "Woah woah . . what?" and that is when people start deserting. Leaving all but the most devoted and those who buy into the sunken cost fallacy.
Let's hope that Trump is getting to that point. I can't imagine moderate Republicans who were "anyone but Biden" or independents watching that debate and nodding their heads to his rant about immigrants eating pets.
So hopefully people keep peeling off from him because they don't want to be lumped in with the kinds of people who say that stuff.
If he acted like this at the nursing home they would be upping his medication to keep him calm. If there is anyone in this race who we should have been concerned about age it's Trump.
Yeah Biden was getting slower but Trump is turning into that mean violent old person they have to sedate and lock in a memory ward to keep him from hurting himself or others. While I deep down wanted neither as president I would have taken the slow quiet old person over the one screaming that his neighbors are eating everyone's pets to anyone who will listen.
