And sadly this is true, don't know about half..... but elderly patients were not tested before being sent back to care homes, and went on to infect many vulnerable people there. They were also given DNRs . Some care workers working in multiple facilities also spread the virus....and family visitors The same happened right across Europe. Models showed that everybody was going to become infected and the only hope was to stall so that treatments and vaccines could be developed. They prioritised people who had a chance of surviving in a climate of limited facilities and intensive care.....over people who were end of life. That's the ugly side of the pandemic, something that people don't like to talk about....... but it is true. 100% correct, emptying the hospitals was not about saving lives or protecting our hospitals it was about protecting the lives of the medical staff who were not even in a high risk group !! Hospital admissions apart from Covid dropped to nigh on zero due to lockdown and only essential operations were being carried out so there was never a risk of hospitals being overwhelmed. We knew the very elderly were the most vulnerable yet we flooded their care homes with Covid carriers, basically it was eugenics. Post vaccine GP's refused to do face to face appointments as part of their NHS contract but the very same Doctors moonlighting in the private sector were quite happy to do face to face for MONEY. The pandemic is long gone but we still struggle to actually see a doctor face to face and they have dumped a lot of their workload onto the Pharmacies. Again Doctors proving they are just as selfish as anyone else and have used the pandemic to reduce their workloads at our expense.

I have different views, because I'm in England. I don't know where the other side of your own culture is ..... but they don't seem to be here anymore. There is no point in having a discussion sight if everyone agrees. You're not seeing a balanced picture....... and are surprised when things happen, which you should have seen coming. Plus its like wading through a swamp of conspiracy. Why this has to feature, I don't even know. I don't remember saying I liked Piers Morgan..... though might have agreed with him for some of his anti gun rhetoric.

In the UK it was estimated something like half of the deaths were caused by Doctors discharging the elderly Covid carriers to the care homes. Felt it was not the right time to bring this statistic up with Doc, he is very sensitive. I doubt that is true but might have been close to true for at most the beginning six months of when Covid hit the UK with measurable numbers. I don't feel like wasting my time going back to look, but even in Italy 50% of the deaths were not only the elderly. Tosh is a UK conservative which is why he gets along with Spell so well. They both believe the conservative misinformation machine there so its possible Tosh even believes the lie he posted. Meh. Need to do useful things. I consider myself to be a middle of the road voter which in America would be a left of centre Democrat so don't even understand your point about misinformation, the statistics come from the Civil Service not the Conservatives. Mistakes were made pre vaccine in the first 9 months none bigger than the care home disaster.

Over the years most of the banned folks have been right of center, there was a notable Progressive who also got banned but I no longer remember if that occurred on PB or back in the days when MSN still hosted the boards. I am seeing a more balanced picture of the US than you are, that is certain. I do not follow UK politics much, but much of the world has tilted authoritarian at this time, hence Boris in the UK. Let's skip discussing Piers at this time, but you didn't see he was attacking Meghan because he was butt hurt a beautiful woman in his opinion wasn't paying enough attention to him. People being complex, it was not the only reason, however I remember watching more than a couple clips where his own team was trying to rein him in ON AIR no less.

Hospitals aren't much better. I had to wait an hour and a half past the appointment time in orthopaedics last week with a painful broken arm Disrespectfully wasting my time ... as if my time, and myself had no value at all. If it happens again tomorrow, I'll be writing to the authority because my treatment has been shite.

Correct, mistakes were made in the beginning because it was a pandemic. A new disease that needed to be studied and medical protocols were made, evolved, changed, etc. Covid variants kept evolving and changing. Eventually becoming less deadly but before getting there notably causing heart attacks, kidney disease, attacking the lungs, and in some rarer cases causing mental disease that did not exist prior to exposure to Covid.

Probably.......... but its still not good enough. I was told that I needed to see the doctor ....because the bones had been realigned in casualty and they would take xrays to check the position. None of which happened, I don't even think the doctor was in the department. They are going to check it tomorrow two weeks after the event, Like I said..... its shite.

Glad you agree with me, I am never ever wrong, mistakes were made some were understandable others like the care home decision were obviously wrong and made for the wrong reasons. What you consider yourself and what you are probably do not match up if you are trying to compare where you feel you are in the UK compared to politics here.Come again? Not sure what this means sounds like something Kamal Harris would say.

You are sadly mistaken if you think regular Americans get service better than that on short, staffed days. There will be bad doctors, nurses, receptionists etc. no matter if you have universal healthcare or pay too much per the American healthcare model. Medical facilities have to manage their costs whether they exist in the UK or America.

Now we have all got acquainted I think it would be nice to discuss a less contentious issue.
I am a keen supporter of Zionism and reject any notion of a two state solution or even a peace settlement until Hamas and Hezbollah are extinct. The refugees and their voluminous dependants both in Gaza and the West bank should be given homes in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon.
I love the Jews except for Chomsky and Finkelstein and I love their culture although I am a secular humanist.
Have a look at their achievements in Noble prizes for a culture of only 16 million souls and compare this to the Islamic nations of 2 billion, it is not even a contest.
Anyway I would appreciate any input although I expect most to be in full agreement with my stance.
