I get so tired of being tired! I can't sleep and it's causing me issues.
I always think I'm going to sleep through the night, even if it's early when I fall asleep. I never think I'm going to take a little nap, when it's after 8 or 9 PM.
Then I'm awake for several hours, in the night and drag through the next day.
I hate it!
Do you have sleep issues?
It's almost 3AM. Maybe I can sleep now?

Me either. I did not drink enough, and I need to address things I do not want to. If only Star Trek were a reality, and I could just beam in for the service and beam back out.
I am happy for my dad, but I am not happy for me. I do not like winter, and I do not like flying between Newark and O'Hare as an underfunded person. It sucks. Unclear whether my BFF from growing will be able to attend. She is not healing all that fast and would need a ride probably from one of her kids to come down for the service.

I didn’t get much sleep either, that’s why I’m up so early. Ugh!

Is this stuff contagious, or what? I had to drag DH to get to bed close to midnight last night, then I woke up around 4 am & have been awake ever since. Pass the caffeine, please!

Ugh. This is so annoying!
I too, don't care to fly. Much less, in less than ideal conditions. But I have flown out of Denver in a total white out blizzard before. Where the plane we were connecting with had been "lost" for an hour and a half. And we arrived in SLC unscathed. There was only one pocket of turbulence that had a big drop, that scared me. Mostly because I was flying alone and had no one to talk to, or distract me. Otherwise it was an uneventful trip.
I hope all goes well for you, opti. I have flown next to a person, who got special accommodations for a death in their family. She sobbed the whole way from CA to SLC, UT. The flight crew was very kind to her, as was I. It was not her best day.
I hope you all got some sleep.
I apparently broke a nail last night in my sleep. It's trying to rip off this morning. I'll clip it, once it gets light and people are awake. I'd rather it didn't rip off. That would be painful. My nails are too long. I've been thinking that for a week or two, so I'm not surprised.
Enjoy your day!

My nails are fraying constantly it feels like. I won't cry on the way out. I may cry a little on the way back, remains to be seen. My head is fog, and I should be looking at flights, but I don't want to. Because I don't want to go. I should go. I don't want a reprise of what are you doing either after the service. I am also concerned about the lack of credit back from Allstate on my car insurance. I don't know who is dragging their feet but I need that money for my cable bill and I already paid a car insurance payment size payment to the dentist for what insurance would not cover for the car insurance. Not looking forward to canceling my car insurance outright at this time, and blocking the payment will have the same effect at my bank. Its forever. I don't want this agency, but I wish I could make informed decision on keeping or dumping this insurer. I bet the fact I have not sold the dead car is puzzling their minds, but they could call. They could ask my current agency who knows it has not been driven for over 9 months. I need to take care of my crap. Not dig a bigger financial hole flying back on demand.

I'd rather it didn't rip off. That would be painful. My nails are too long. I've been thinking that for a week or two, so I'm not surprised. Enjoy your day! One time flying out of Memphis, there was a ground stop due to a severe thunderstorm overhead and it was heading east. Once the ground stop ended, we took off heading east/southeast to Atlanta where I would catch a connecting flight to my final destination. Once we took off from Memphis, we hit some severe turbulence. The passenger in the seat in front of me was freaking out. I calmed her down explaining why we were flying through turbulence and how aircraft are built to survive it. I also offered my hand for her to hold while we experienced the turbulence. She accepted my hand. I worked for a cargo airline and as employees we were able to jumpseat on our planes and fly for free to where ever they flew. When we were flying 727s, the jumpseats were in the cockpit. So one time, after waking up from a nap while seated in the cockpit, I saw static electricity dancing all over the cockpit windows. There was a pilot dead heading to Memphis in the other cockpit jumpseat. I looked at him with a puzzled look and he told me the static electricity was known as St. Elmo's Fire. Told me it was a common sight when flying at lower altitudes during stormy weather. As the pilots flying the aircraft were not worried about it, so did I decide we were okay. I saw St. Elmo's Fire three more times that week flying into and out of Memphis (I was working and living in New Hampshire at that time of those flights).

I've been having a hard time sleeping through the night. My PCP just prescribed me eight Adaven (sp?) pills.

It didn't occur to me to mention my poor sleep. But that's a good idea. I'm going to take part in a sleep study soon. Maybe that will help. But I kind of doubt it. At least it should rule out sleep apnea. I would like to shut off my brain, when it's time to sleep.

But it does help falling asleep quickly once you go to bed.

Now all my medications have been disposed of, so I'd need another prescription. It seems like someone I know had really bad dreams when taking it, or they ate a lot, during the night. I forget which. Do you have any issues?

I am also not sleeping! I seem to go through cycles with this. I'll be okay for several weeks and then NOPE, you are not falling asleep before 2 am! I have a nature sounds app on my phone, and it helps. I'm thinking of getting a sleep mask too, cause any light can disturb me. In our house we all retreat to our respective rooms about 7 pm. Me and the dog, DH to his room, DS2 to his. DS2 plays video games. DH takes his medical marijuana and goes to sleep. I watch tv! Probably the worst thing to do! I turn off the light and try to sleep about 10:30. At some point the dog will start scratching, or move, or decide I really need to pet her. Not every night but more often than not. I sleep better on the nights she decides to sleep with DS2. toomuchreality I take melatonin. It works sometimes. It does not seem to affect my dreams or my appetite. I will take it for a few nights in a row. But I don't want to be dependent on it, so I will stop after a few nights.

toomuchreality you can buy melatonin over the counter. No prescription needed. Do you have a portal you could use to send the PCP a message and ask about it?

I'm going to go sneak in a short nap now. I did make it through church, but caught myself looking down a couple of times.

I buy my melatonin over the counter. Can be found in the vitamins section of your food or pharmacy store. I take the 10mg version of it. No negative side affects. Won't help with getting an uninterrupted sleep all night but will hopefully get a least a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep. I don't want to take prescription sleeping pills. Living alone, no one to stop me from grabbing my car keys and driving while asleep (and any other crazy and dangerous activity).

Suddenly it was too much to bring all my dry laundry up the stairs. The hanging stuff is up but the rest is on the landing. I think I need a several hour nap as well.

toomuchreality - There are a number of reasons folks are have a hard time getting a good night's, uninterupted sleep. I am on a med for type 2 diabetes which causes me to to have to get up and pee several times a night. But I was having problems with sleep long before that. Our age can be a problem getting a good night's rest. My understanding is seniors do you problems with sleep. I never had problems sleeping while younger. But now that I am in my seventies it has become a problem. Sleep Problems in the ElderlyHave you thought about purchasing a white noise machine? Helps with relaxation. I don't have one but I do have a small fan on in the bedroom which creates a constant soft sound. The fan and the Melatonin may be working together.

I frequently get up in the middle of the night and move from the bedroom to the living room couch to sleep the rest of the night. I seem to get a better sleep on the couch.

TBH I haven't really given serious thought to anything. I mostly have noticed it since I have been staying at my daughter's and trying not to wake others up. Although I have pretty much had trouble all my life. Growing up, night time was my safe time and my "me" time, so I liked staying awake. Now, not so much. I need my BEAUTY sleep! 😁

Unison works great for me but I need to take it by 9 pm if I want to get up at six am. Otherwise I’m sluggish in the AM.
Don’t take it daily - I usually wait until I’ve had several bad night before I take some. Usually only once a month or so. Don’t want to get dependent.

Well, here goes another night, sitting alone, in the dark, waiting for sleep to find me, or the sun to rise. Sorry. I am up briefly to hydrate. Updated Covid shot is kicking my ass with major fatigue and weirdness with my sinuses in my forehead. Accomplished almost nothing except making food after I got my work laundry in yesterday. Exhausted and think my lymph glands are pretty unhappy too. Hope you can find something that works. I use B vitamins and also some liquid magnesium to help. I hope once you move your stress will drop and it will be easier for you to get sleep.

Trying to nap then did not work but I did fall sleep for a couple hours. Did not expect the delayed reaction, in the past I've mostly only suffered for the first 24 hours. This feels like it hit around 19 to 20 hours in and has more to go. Hydrating more now as I am behind and that could easily be part of the problem. Hope I am a bit better in the morning.

I plan ahead now when I get the shot, although the very last one I received didn't affect me as badly. Best wishes!

I hope you were able to get some sleep and some rest. And that either elves or fairies came and took care of your laundry for you! I am up, eating the half of a roast beast sandwich, I didn't eat for dinner, so had left over. I'll try to sleep again in a few mins. It seems crazy, to me, how much my taste have changed, since having these recent heart attacks. My desire for sweet things and carbs has pretty much gone away. Although I do still enjoy some breads. The thought of eating anything sweet gags me. That was not the case, prior. I hope I'm off to wonderland again, now. Sleep well.
