What is something you found that could have made your life easier had you known it existed earlier in life? I have been wearing eyeglasses since I started kindergarten. I was reading an article about a celebrity sharing what was in their bag, and one of the items was a 2 sided glasses case. I could have kept my glasses and sunglasses in 1 case all of these years! ETA - There are also cases that hold both glasses and contacts, along with their supplies! ETAA - There are a million different options. link

That sounds interesting. Can you post a pic of such a thing or a link on an example. Could be useful to me too, but not necessary yet.

I recently discovered that the lid to a parmesan cheese container fits a regular mouth mason jar. I have told several of my 60 year old friends who had no idea either!

Buying a Litter Genie was a huge quality of life improvement for scooping the cat litter. It doesn't smell bad and I can just scoop the litter right into it and take the bag out to the trash every few weeks.

When I wore glasses (started in second grade), my glasses never left my face. I never lost a pair either.
However……on our first cruise, TD broke his glasses. We spent the better part of our time in Bermuda looking for an eyeglass repair place. There were other things we could have been doing that day!

Found them to be a nuisance having to switch each time I went indoors or outdoors. So I have been wearing glasses with photochromic lenses for years.

I did learn during one business trip that it is probably a good idea to always bring along a eyeglass repair kit (like the below) in case one of the eye glass arm(?) screws come loose/fall off. FIx it right then and there.

Never lost but misplaced MANY times. I never drive anywhere or travel without a second pair of glasses. Usually the previous prescription

I am nearly blind without mine. You could be 2 feet away from and your face would just be a blob. It is a safety issue for me and those around me. If an emergency happens I prefer to see the faces around me.

I also put my glasses in a case on my night stand at night, mostly because I would fumble around for them and mark them up with fingerprints.

My biggest finding was that you can buy Chinese food/soup containers from Amazon. I bought the 16 oz version to have on hand, but when we get takeout, I reuse the 32 oz versions. I have a decent stash of this size now too. They are cheap enough that if I give away soup (usually to my 2 elderly neighbors) they know I don’t need the container back. They are what I store stock in the freezer in. I use them for leftovers, and if they wind up in the back of the fridge forgotten, I have no problem tossing the mold covered food away.

I didn't wear glasses quite as long and, since my cataract surgeries I no longer need them. But still in over 60 years I never lost nor misplaced my glasses either. And the only time I scratched my lenses was when I fell hard enough to break my arm in two places and my glasses flew off. Having said that I just ordered a glasses/lens combination case for DDIL for use while traveling. There goes the myth of thriftiness inspiration from YMAM. I find out more about handy things to buy here

I have worn glasses since age 18. I have never misplaced or lost my glasses because they are on my face when I am awake and they go to their designated spot at night.

This is my go-to supper about 7-8 times a month when I am too lazy to spend time cooking. Spicy but not too spicy, cooks up in five minutes and it's done. I do add shrimp to it to get some protein out of it. This is like a noodle soup. The brand also makes a stir-fry version of this now. Cooked and ready to eat in six minutes. I buy the product in bulk from Amazon. What are the chinese food and soup containers from Amazon?

For a crazy good meal called Ram-Don (fictional food from the movie Parasite) follow this recipe kimchimari.com/ram-don-jjapaguri-movie-parasite/ It's a mix of Neoguri and Chapagetti combined with steak cubes and totally awesome. I can't handle the spice level of Neoguri on its own.

If you have to wear your glasses all the time, it is probably unlikely you will lose them. I have lost a pair of glasses. I am nearsighted; I only need glasses for distance. As I've gotten older, my prescription has gotten slightly stronger (I think I'm up to -1.75 now?) and I need to wear them more when I am doing things where I need to see distance clearly. But I can no longer read at all when I have them on - it makes the print look wonky. So, if we are walking around places now, I'm constantly putting them on when we are walking, or if I need to see something on a wall (like a beer menu!), but then I need to take them off if I need to read a menu or look at my phone. So, one day a while ago I just left them on a table when we left a restaurant. I wasn't driving, and I didn't think about it until we got home, and by the time I called the place, they had disappeared. But, I have a bunch of relatively usable glasses because my prescription has been changing very slowly, so pretty much my last 3 sets of glasses are all relatively functional. I would actually like the double-sided case since I also use sunglasses since my transition lenses sometimes don't transition enough- off to find one I like!

The DANCO Disposal Genie Garbage Disposal Strainer. I bought this 6 years ago, because I kept destroying spoons (a lot of spoons) in my garbage disposal. I love it and I haven't lost a spoon since or had to put my hand down the hole. So simple and cheap, but it made my life slightly better on a daily basis.

Ok, so mine I knew existed, but I never knew how wonderful they were until I bought one - a towel warmer. It's a bucket type, with up to 12 hrs delay, and a timer (20, 40 or 80 min). However, due to the way my bathroom is configured, it's somewhat of a hassle to use. My bathroom is divided into 2 rooms. One has the tub and 2 sinks, and the other has the shower and the toilet. For whatever reason, whoever designed it couldn't conceive of a need for outlets in the shower portion. So, I either A) plug it in out there by the sinks, set my delay (so it will already be on and warming my towel when I get up for work) then unplug it and put it next to the shower or B) Do the same as A, only using an extension cord so that it stays on while I shower.
It's soooooooooooooooo nice not having a cold towel in the winter! I don't know how/why we didn't get one before. Going to have to buy a second one for the other bathroom though because we've been moving it back and forth.

Have you ever thought about pricing out what it would cost to extend the wiring and put one or more outlets in the shower portion?

I like this link you found, so much more informative to me. I had a hard time watching Parasite because I knew where it was going, and it felt like it took so long. I only got up to when the son of the poor family was getting his sister a job with the Parks.

First time I went to England and had a towel warmer, I thought I had died and went to heaven. So nice to have warm towels after a nice shower.

Two of those combination glasses/lens cases sit now in my house waiting to be packed. I had bought one for DDIL and then realized that the partner of DS1 would probably also like one since she travels a lot for work. Well, if either or both of them think that is a silly gift at least I will never hear about it given they live on other sides of the world and they are both very lovely and kind women.
