Uh, no, no I'm not and no I don't. They be some special kind of stupid Tell any in the future you don't have a business FB account and don't plan to have one. Had no idea that some folks feel entitled to be FB friends to people elected to anything.

About to head to the Home Depot. In the rain. Because we need new mounting bolts to replace the ceiling fan. I absolutely hate, Hate, HATE doing any projects in this house!!! The previous owners were diy-ers, and they apparently took lots of shortcuts. Every single time we try to fix something it requires more time and parts because it was not done right to begin with. Ugh. My other house was built in the early 60’s. The original owner took great care of it. They sold it to a young single man, he lived there 5 years, then sold it to me. A lot of things that should’ve been simple, were not, because of the age of the house. Replacing my kitchen faucet, as soon as he touched the pipes under the sink, they crumbled. Replacing the faucet in a bathroom, water ran everywhere because it turned out that the cut off valve didn’t work. When the 23yo water heater failed and was running a river of water down the hall that had the original wood floors, that cut off valve didn’t work either. I had to call the utility company to come shut the water off to the house. Fortunately they came in like 15 minutes. I had the plumber just replace all the cutoff valves in the house after that. Replacing the shower head, the arm coming out the wall had a ball on the end of it, which doesn’t work with modern shower heads. I had to call a plumber to change the arm just so I could have a new shower head. Replacing ceiling fans, replacing the microwave over the stove with a range hood, blah blah blah, all of it was more complicated than expected because the house was so old, and so many things had changed since that stuff had been put in. I think I would’ve been more aggravated, like you are, if it had been because of a previous owner’s diy mistakes rather than just the age of the house. My house was built in 1925. I feel this. Nothing is ever a simple fix.

Mister’s Dad is started to insist on driving his car and going home. Mister thinks it’s a bad idea, but he can’t exactly hold his Dad hostage. He told me they at least need to go clean the house up before his Dad goes home. I said why, when you spent a whole day cleaning it up the last time it got right back terrible, and your Dad was there. Going by the state of the bedroom he’s been using here and some of the other stuff he does here, he’s part of the problem with his house being horrible. One time, they went to see Mom and his Dad got up to go to the restroom. On the way, he took his jacket off and dropped it in the middle of the floor and left it there. And Mom started fussing at him. So yeah, I can see why the house is like that without her there to fuss at him. He told his Mom we won’t let him use our washing machine. He didn’t tell her it’s because he tried to stuff 2 queen size comforters in there and he doesn’t know how to turn it on anyway. So he brings his stuff in the laundry room, Mister washes it and gives it back to him when it comes out of the dryer. But he has her thinking he needs to go to a laundromat to clean his stuff lol. Idk what Mister is going to do, but I’m going to suggest that if his Dad goes home, he find someone to come over every day to help him, and suggest care.com like NomoreDramaQ1015 mentioned. I’d rather that happen at his house instead of ours anyway, because it’s people I know that I don’t want in my house even if I’m at home, I really don’t want someone I don’t know in here everyday while I’m gone.

That's a good idea, Pink. Mister's dad does need supervision/companionship or something. Is his sibling still at the house?

And hey! I've got two reviews now! Plus I googled the book and found that Barnes and Noble is officially carrying it! Don't know how that happened, but it's all good.

That sounds like a solid plan. Mister might want to make it very clear to the caregiver what he/she is to do and what they are not to do, like go buy Dad food he's not supposed to eat or other stuff like that.

So, I'm 62. I think that's really too young for cataracts. I've been wearing readers for over 15 years now. About 20 years ago I was traveling for work and couldn't focus in the distance at all once I got off the plane. I went to an optometrist who told me that my problem was a function of poor near sight. I was working so hard to see close that I could no longer focus far. Weird. He wrote a script and I wore glasses for a couple of years then. I do work all the time on screen, on my laptop. I had one cataract surgery done in Colorado and the other one the first year I was here. Doctor here said they should both have been done at the same time. I was 58 when the second surgery was done.

It's something to think about but, since my personal email and phone are accessible to all, I don't see why I would need to grant more access. Literally anyone can email or call me 24/7 so I don't feel they need FB access. Additionally, individual board members are specifically prohibited from posting on social media as board members because statements of policy and fact are subject to approval by the full board. No one of us can post on social media to represent the group as a whole.

That's a good idea, Pink. Mister's dad does need supervision/companionship or something. Is his sibling still at the house? I’m not sure if he’s there or not. Mister seems to believe his Dad has Mom thinking we aren’t treating him well, because we won’t let him use the washing machine, like I mentioned earlier, Mr. keeps telling him to stop putting food on the wrong side of the sink (I thought a couple days ago was the first time), stuff like that. Plus, we already know he doesn’t like the food. Mister absolutely hates wheat bread, but guess what’s in our kitchen right now, because he believes it’s better for his Dad than white bread. Wheat bread. Even if she believes him, I’m not sure why they would have a problem with Mister trying to help him understand how we do things here, especially when Mister is trying to keep his Dad from causing him to have to spend energy and money fixing something his Dad broke. How is that mistreating someone? PLUS, Last year, his parents had clogged pipes because his Dad insisted on putting dishes in his fairly new dishwasher with food on them. His owner’s manual says scrape food off, but you don’t have to rinse them. He just put the dishes in there, food and all, like it had a real garbage disposal or something. He doesn’t use his own appliances correctly, saying “it won’t hurt it”. Not just the dishwasher. So of course Mister would prefer we just do it instead of is Dad using the appliance. How is that not treating him well? He really had Mister’s Mom thinking she needed to help him find a nearby laundromat! Mister does get frustrated about having to tell his Dad stuff over and over, but he’s still not mean to his Dad. If anything, his Dad is being mean to him, constantly insulting his cooking lol

Mister and I will talk after he takes Kiddo home. They’ve been watching football together and fussing about whose team is the best. No need to interrupt that.

After rinsing 3 heads of romaine lettuce to add to my lunches for the week and wasting almost half a roll of paper towels drying them, I finally ordered a salad spinner. And had enough rewards on my Amazon card to get it for free.
I am way more excited than I should be about getting a salad spinner.

I get a lot of friend requests from community members on my personal FB page and if I don't know them then I let the request ignored. No rejection, no acceptance. My council email and my cell phone number are listed on our town's website, so that's good enough for me if anyone wants to contact me. I keep my FB private but my Instagram is public and I do use that to promote community events.

Ceiling fan replacement is finally done. What a nightmare. It is also the only thing that got done today. Have to do Kiddo's laundry. Thankfully it is only one load. And convince her to take a bath. Other than that, I'll be on the couch with a glass of wine watching the football game we recorded earlier.
The worse part is, I have 3 other ceiling fans we are planning to replace. I really need to rethink that plan.

I'm actually linked to the current chair, we've raised a few glasses at the townie dive bar while I still lived over there. but even if they didn't link to their constituents, woudn't a Selectman still be visible? or is S&S coming from a smaller community unit? in which case, I apologize, my comparisons don't fly at all.

Back on ship after visiting LA. Met up with a friend who used to be on the old YM boards, last time I saw her was at her wedding.
The day started out as a total USBP immigration shit show. Everyone had to be off the ship by 8:30. We got off before 8, and wound up in the second longest line of my life (Versailles still wins that honor). We finally got to the door, and I asked someone if there was a bathroom nearby. I had no idea but she pulled us both out of the line and took us to the head. We got through, so I could hit the bathroom, then we got to sit in a room until about 10:45. They were boarding new passengers at 11, so let us back on before they boarded. I got in the shower and got cleaned up. We took the shuttle to Long Beach, then Uber to the restaurant.
Hit REI since TD brought shoes that were falling apart…..again. Ulta was next door, so picked up some cotton swabs. I meant to pick up a small pack in FL and forgot. The vanity pack provided has a few, but I hate trashing a whole pack just for one item.

Let's see what you all say. My nephew just called me. He signed a lease in July which is supposed to be up again in July. For months the apartment complex has not accepted rent payments. They have cited computer problems. They have been banking the rent so they can produce months of rent payments if needed. His roommate sent a notice to accept their rent within 30 days or they're out. What if they say "OK, GTF out?" They have the emails where they have been trying to pay. I know they can't just put them out on Monday. What do they need to do/say? What do they need to know? swamp, help!

Son got grandson a BB gun for Christmas, hope he is monitored. Son said he at least needs to be familiar with them. He doesn't seem like the kind of kid that will be interested. But his dad needs to put it up someplace too so he can use it only when he is home.
I actually dusted, wow, finally! Got the living room and dining room hutches dusted on top. I did all of DD's room except for the top of her bookcase. I need to use the ladder in there for it. The other I need to dust is the top of my desk. I need to get hubs to help me get the sweeper on top of the kitchen countertops to vac the tops of the cabinets.
Since I changed the kitty litter, I was using the house has little dust now. The stuff from Ollie's was cheap but I didn't realize how much dust it was putting out. Fresh Step or other brands is a lot better and I don't really think I'm using more of it. Our furnace setup does not create dust it's very clean.
Our T bones were just so so, not a lot of flavor. I won't buy steak from that store again, never had before. It looked marbled with fat so thought it would taste good. I hope the roast I bought is good.

I went to bed early tonight, before 7pm. I was back out the bed a little after 8pm, because there was some confusion. Mister’s brother was here, when I went up front, he had excused himself to go sit in the garage while Mister and their Dad talked.
Mister’s Dad did something today against Mister’s advice and made a big mess of things. And apparently him and Mom have decided to solve the issue of him not being able to function without her, by him just staying at the hospital. Indefinitely I guess. Not to spend time together, but so she can be the one to make sure he takes his medicine and monitor him and tell him what to do and when, like she’s always done. And I guess so he can go to the vending machine and come back with all kinds of cookies and cupcakes and potato chips for them both to eat, even though they both have diabetes and high blood pressure, like he did yesterday before Mister left the hospital. Never mind that she is in the hospital for a reason, and has her own problems, that’s what they want. Because Mister is mistreating him by trying to have some structure for his Dad, keep him from spending money he doesn’t have when his bills are already behind, and feed him heart healthy food.
Mister told his Mom she’s in no position to try to babysit his Dad just because he doesn’t want to think or figure anything out for himself. Keep in mind everybody has realized that that’s a large part of the problem, Mister’s brother said it tonight. When he got tired of Mister reminding him to take his medicine and him having to go in the kitchen and get it himself, he told Mister that Mom use to just bring him his medicine whenever it was time for him to take it. Mister told him “well Mom isn’t here”. Anyway, Mister’s Mom’s response to him was that’s her husband and “you would do the same thing for Pink”. BUT Mister has not spoiled me to the point that I just wait for him to tell me what to do, nor would I want him to.
Their relationship is starting to look weird to me.
And Dad said he doesn’t want anybody coming in to help him.
Good grief!

And Dad said he doesn’t want anybody coming in to help him. Good grief! Doesn't the hospital have a cafeteria where he could get healthier food? He can't live on cookies, cupcakes and chips.

Pink Cashmere, what a shit show. I admire your patience through all of this. I also have a very short fuse when able-bodied adults expect others to take care of them like over grown toddlers. It doesn’t sound like father’s issues are age-related, sounds like they developed over time and he doesn’t want things to change.
