The gave me the total side eye.

I slept so badly last night. The wind was howling outside my window like an angry, wounded animal. Sorry, can't read most of your comments...too much food stuff, and I'm nauseated.

Laundry moved to dryer, and we now have a string of air dry t shirts hanging across the wall.
I brought a collapsible hamper with me that works great in hauling the laundry to and from the laundry room. Lingerie bags corrals the socks and underwear.
TD brought our Bose Bluetooth speaker, so we have Josh Groban singing Christmas songs. A bottle of red and white wine were dropped off last night with panettone. So not a horrible way of doing laundry.
We are docked next to a Virgin ship, and can see a Celebrity and RC docked too. We look like a peanut in comparison.
There is a Christmas concert tonight at the theatre I think we will hit. Last time we were on a ship Christmas Eve, the chef had prepared a chocolate extravaganza. It wasn’t announced, so will have to see if it’s done again.

Feel better weltschmerz. I made french toast casserole this morning for the first time and it turned out great. Was told by family to put it on the rotation. Spent the rest of the morning vacuuming and did two loads of laundry. Such an exciting life

I had two rice krispy treats for breakfast. Since my kid made them I have the power to consume half the pan before anyone else gets some.😆 I think Rice Krispy Treats are the cause of my Covid 15. I have no self control, neither does TD so don5 make them anymore. I think it's Dessert for Two has a recipe for a small batch. I made a full batch last night for today along with mini cheesecakes.

We've now entered the portion of holiday preparation where we have run out of containers and areas to temporarily store baked goods.

Pink - Boy seems trainable, can you teach him to ring a string of bells on the back door when he needs to go out? Also, pits are REALLY bad about handling cold weather (on average). Sweatshirts help mine stay out longer and enjoy the cold or rain more. Look for pitbull specific coats. They are so deep-chested that normal dog clothes don't fit. Yah, I'm THAT dog lady in the street. I'll own it. He even has pajamas. He's 100lbs. I did put bells at the door, but I could get him to use them and I mostly forget they are even there now. I’m not sure we could hear them if we’re in the bedroom anyway. I guess when he comes flying in the bedroom, it’s not because he’s happy to see me, it’s because he needs to go outside. That’s the second time he’s done that.

Now I really want some rice krispie treats. I make them with peanut butter. ::clutches pearls::: That is not a rice Krispy treat that is a Scotcheroo. Both equally delicious but I'm fairly confident my dad would disown me if I added peanut butter. My grandma has been making them since he was little. My brother and I used to try to beat each other to her house becausewhoever got their first would start hoovering treats. It got to where grandma made two smaller batches so we each had our own instead of waging WW3 in her house.

I hate the part of Christmas where you try to figure out whether you should have given so-and-so something. I just got back from Starbucks. I don't give my adult children or their spouses presents, and they don't give me anything. But when I got $10 giftcards to Second and Charles (secondhand bookstore) for all their kids, I did pick up one for my daughter. She is the one who will take them, and like NomoreDramaQ1015, there is no way she wouldn't find something she wanted herself. Everybody got a little bag of candy with the giftcard tucked in except for my son-in-law. So I ran out and got him a $10 Starbucks card. I should have thought of it earlier, but I am just now getting around to putting stuff in stockings. It is so cold out there!

I couldn't get on this morning either. Downtown Milwaukee didn't get all that much snow but the wind is still howling. At my house, the wind is still setting off notifications on my alarm system. It's -2 with a feels like of -18. I'm not walking to Starbucks. Not seeing much activity around here. I brought one of my ceramic Christmas trees with me and I'm glad I did. Hotel is having limited dining for breakfast tomorrow and giving complimentary box lunches. No food service on Christmas except for box lunches. giramomma I was going to call DHS about my dad but my sister would know it was me because I was the only one who knew what I was going to tell them. That was about the time the doctor represented hospice and when they came out, we were told they would not do home hospice in his current situation. He had to go to assisted living or a nursing home. My sister really questioned the social worker. So I got my confirmation then, but still thought he needed a nursing home. Sadly, I was correct. You are in Milwaukee for Christmas? Do you have plans for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?-‘cause my family has room for an extra guest or two. DD lives Downtown near Fiserv Forum. She uses Door Dash a lot. I think downtown will be pretty quiet over the weekend-so don’t be afraid to take your car out. This was so nice of you, to offer! Now I'm crying. (Things make me cry easily, this year. I get touched by things, like this.) It was nice, even if it doesn't happen. ♡♡♡

This is very weird. I got a package notification for something I ordered. When I looked out the door, there were 2 other packages I know nothing about. It's shampoo and conditioner. The thing that's really weirding me out is it's addressed to Mr/Mrs Maiden name. Only one person I know still uses my naiden name but I see no reason why she would ship me shampoo and conditioner when I'm going to her house tonight. I texted her but this is still weird. The shipping paper doesn't say anything useful.

DD and SIL asked that we have family over today cause they’re going to his family Christmas Day. Fine but they just came down with Covid so not coming. We have her 2 sons, wives snd ODS and wife, YDS and wife and 3 kids here I bought spiral ham(just baked and out of oven now)?kielbasi cooked with saurkraut (done) and 4 dozen pierogis still to sautée. Plus everyone either brought sides or cooking now. Older GS making apple pie Bought a no sugar added pumpkin pie for Jerseyguy, a cake made of 4 cakes - quarter chocolate quarter carrot quarter pecan forgot the other quarter Too much confusion, I’m sitting in lv rm with a glass of Prosecco. Dining table set . I’ll rejoin them when ready to eat.

I ran out to the grocery store to pick up a couple pup things earlier, and to swap a winning keno ticket(bought last night while I waited on my takeout order) for some scratch cards - and I won! I mean $20, but I'll call it good 😉 that said, good effing lord, it's cold out there! I know some of you are still way colder, but it's a huge shock to the system after waking up to near 60F yesterday...even knowing exactly when and how bad it was coming. 🥶
currently, the pups and I are hiding out in the basement with the space heater on. Punk is pouting, bc she would still be rolling in the grass if I'd let her stay outside earlier. honey, I'm sorry, but LD and I aren't as furry as you, and we will die out here. he's passed out and dreaming in the direct line of the heater, and I'm doing crossword puzzles while watching this train wreck of a Patriots game. I may likely find a movie or something instead of the 2nd half. 🙄
merry Christmas to those of you celebrating, happy weekend to the rest of you. may this weekend be restful for everyone. stay warm, don't punch your obnoxious uncle at Christmas dinner, and remember, AAA will cover bail for everything except a DUI. be safe, all. 💗

thank you! I am def going to try this, after I clear the leftovers out of my fridge. also - how are you storing leftovers of these? bc a Ziploc bag after they fully cool should prevent staling. that's how I grew up storing leftover regular RK treats and they were fresh til gone.

Yeah, a ziploc is how I store them, but they still seem to get get stale fast. Of course, we have no humidity out here and bread goes stale fast also, even when properly stored.

Got going on wrapping. Have cranberries in a pot to make sauce I promised Gwen I would.
Then I got the oven going for sweet potatoes but I need it at 3 for the ham. Maybe I'll microwave them instead.
Then I need Gwen to make whip cream for the pistachio salad. Watergate salad is the official name of it.
I think I bit off more than I can chew.
But I think I'll pull it off if I stay efficient.

Taking a break from my chore list. But I will be getting up shortly to make two loaves of bread - I will likely eat a whole loaf tonight with escargot. Also making an apple galette for dessert.

I was doing really well tackling my laundry room disaster, then I sat down to eat some lunch, put on the game and fell asleep. It's been a very lazy, laid back couple days. I just noticed the temp was 7 degrees out though which is pretty awesome, although it's still very windy. I'm going to head outside after the game and start working on all the drifts in the driveway until I freeze. My canine guest is here and needs to get out get some exercise too.

Or that could just be me. not just you. and I have the added bonus of the POS stove that leaks heat. I can't store bread in that upper left cabinet between the stove and the wall, on the lower corner closest to the stove. stuff gets moldy super quick. I question keeping anything there, and actually as I write this post, I think that's where I'm going to put my Tervis stash. doesn't make any sort of sense for kitchen flow, but they are insulated plastic mugs, so heat isn't gonna bother them.

The gifts are not wrapped, food is not done, peanut blossoms are not happening and my room still needs cleaned up. And I need to pack a bag for myself for the hotel tonight. I think I'm just broken there's never enough time to get it all done.
